The dedicated and experienced team at Larkland House, a purpose-built care home in Ascot, Berkshire, offers a range of care options for older people, including residential, dementia and nursing respite care as well as short term respite care.

Being an established care home, Larkland House has developed a great reputation for delivering the highest standards of care. The team creates a unique, personalised care plan for each resident, considering their individual needs and wishes.

The home is designed over three floors, each with its own dining room and lounge, and it is entirely wheelchair accessible. The light and spacious bedrooms are all en-suite, and residents are welcome to bring their own possessions to add a personal touch.

of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge.

other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

My friend has been living at the home for a while, I feel and so does her husband that she is receiving the best possible care. Staff are friendly, kind, as well as caring. Management team are approachable. Food is great.

Mum is very happy here and she loves the nurses that care for her.
She has improved since moving here which is so reassuring for us knowing Mum is safe and happy.
The support we get as a family is good and whatever questions we have the care home always try to help as best they can.

Dad came to stay for a few weeks to give Mum a break. Everything went smoothly from the initial meeting to Dad coming back home. Later in the year, Mum has already booked Dad back in as she feels so confident with the whole process.

My mother-in-law has been in the home since June 2023. Myself and partner couldn’t be happier with the care she is having. We see her as much as we can and love the pictures on social media which shows her enjoying herself on a daily basis. The whole team are super.

My wife has Parkinsons and Parkinsons dementure and can be a difficult person to deal with and consequently has 24hr 1 to 1 care. Her life in Larkland has greatly improved since she has had the same 1 to 1 carers for the majority of the week. They have learnt how to manage her moods and deal with her
agitation which is no mean feat! All the staff are friendly and understanding.
It is very important that Parkinsons patients are given their medication on time and for whatever reason there are times when this does not happen. I also believe that it is wrong that the Parkinsons Nurse only reviews the effectiveness of the medication every 6 months. Any changes to my wife's medication have only occurred after I contacted the Parkinsons Nurse and made recommendations.
My wife has only a few teeth left and finds that she is unable to eat a significant number of the meals and the food gets sent back uneaten. She cant chew chicken.
Social events are good and well organised.

My wife's care is ok but some staff need more training. She needs more going to more music and animal. I have to check to make sure she has her own clothes on. Things are corrected when speaking to the manager I should not have to do this if the staff had done their job.

My Mum was lucky enough to be offered a place at Larkland House in December 2022. We were obviously anxious with her moving into a nursing home. The manager gave us a personal tour of the care home answering all our questions as we went round. This was so reassuring that Larkland was the right place
for Mum.
Mum has dementia and her moods can be temperamental but the carers deal with this in a professional and caring way.
All the staff are friendly not just to the residents but to their family and friends. The atmosphere is always a place of happiness.
Rooms are a good size with great walk in showers.
Food - the choice is amazing. We have been lucky to have lunch with Mum on Christmas Day and Easter Sunday and if we had gone to a 5 star restaurant the food would not of been any better.
Entertainment is always made to be fun and to keep the residents stimulated.
Staff/carers - always so kind and caring.
Overall I give Larkland House 10/10 or 5 stars.

Our cousin has been looked after at Larkland House for the past year. It was recommended to us by a close friend whose father also stayed there for a while. The whole team are kind, friendly and treat him with great patience and respect and do their best to make sure he is as happy as he can be.
We have not given a rating for Activities because our cousin prefers not to participate but we know they are a regular feature for the other residents.

My aunt has been in Larklands for three and a half years she is happy and well looked after. Sadly coming to the end of her life she is always treated with dignity and respect. The staff cannot do enough for all of her family, keeping us informed all the time. Thank you Larklands.

My mother was a resident in Larkland House for nearly four years. The care she received was second to none and I am very grateful for the dedication of the team to my mother's well-being and care. I did not have to worry about her at all, particularly through the pandemic, as the team did all they could
to keep up family contact even when visiting was not allowed for many months.


My mother passed away recently but I am secure in the knowledge that she was loved and cared for to the end and I thank everyone at Larkland for looking after her so well.

My mother in law moved into Larklands care home, after a really terrible experience in a previous care home. My mother in law was unable to walk and was being unlawfully restrained with bed sides. In Larklands she is now walking again independently and no need for bed sides. She has a lovely room, the
staff are always very friendly. Frequent activities which always shows great involvement from the residents and the food always looks amazing. The manager has is very knowledgeable, caring and dedicated and this shines through into her staff team. We couldn’t be happier, the physical and mental change is also very apparent. She is no longer confused and enjoying the company of others after living alone for such a long time. As a family we are so very greatly for the care and support she is receiving at Larklands care home

Job Title: Home Manager

I believe that being a Home Manager is about creating a warm environment, not only for residents but also for those who work in the home or visit.


I joined Care UK because I appreciate their culture and ethos of supporting residents to live fulfilling lives.


Ensuring compliance is at the forefront of my work at Larkland House is an important part of my role, but I also like to be involved in the day-to-day lives of the residents and team. Seeing their smiling faces gives me a big sense of achievement.


If the team are happy, this reflects on the residents. I’m proud to work with incredible people who want to make a difference in people’s lives. It’s fantastic when this hard work is recognised. In a previous role, I won awards for Manager of the Year and Dementia Team of the Year.


Outside of work, I love to travel with my husband. Travelling is very important to us. Family is equally important, and any spare time is spent with my granddaughter.
