Overall Experience
On the whole, the Home was of a high standard.
The staff were generally very polite and helpful to both my wife and I. Also I would like to thank the management for going out of their way to help and support me, particularly with regard to funding issues.
The room that my wife occupied was good in terms of space, a nice view (2 windows) and plenty of light. However, initially, there were problems in the room. The TV didn't work for a couple of days and there was a lack of furniture. However, these problems were sorted out by the Home fairly quickly.
The cleanliness in the bathroom was generally satisfactory.

With regard to food and drink, it was difficult to comment because my wife had been having problems with her appetite recently and that was also true in the hospital and when I was cooking for her at home. Anyway, I thought that the food looked good generally but I was particularly impressed by the way the staff tried to improvise with alternative possibilities.

This nursing home was chosen for us by the NHS. It was our only choice. Mum went in for end of life care (16 days). What amazing people work here! Kind, considerate, empathetic & patient; from nurses to heatlthcare assisstants, to receptionists & even the laundry man! Requests met with solutions & with a willing and gentle heart. The compassion was outstanding. Mum had dementia & cancer & COPD. Just gentle, kind, loving people.

A most enjoyable stay. I came to get over a urine infection and use the physio facilities to improve my walking and general level of fitness.

My room was comfortable and the staff were all helpfull and looked after all my requirements including medical and provided a haircut facility.

Bridge Court has a caring and welcoming atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble for all the staff. The accommodation is kept to a very high standard with comfortable and spacious bedrooms, lounge areas and gardens. It is reassuring to know that my father is being really well cared for. The food is always varied and of a high standard.

My mother has been with Bridge Court for nearly 3yrs now. Over the time she has been there the staff have been terrific in looking after her. They have always been friendly, helpful and professional. The staff have always kept me informed of any health issues my mother has had.
The rooms are bright and comfortable, and nicely decorated.
The food menu is extensive and has something for everyone whether a full meal or a light snack.

Happy to recommend Bridge Court.

I can not fault Bridge Court in anyway. My Mum went in for six weeks respite care after a fall at home. She had two weeks physio twice daily which was organised by Bridge Court.
No one could have done any more for Mum , from the manager, the friendliest receptionist you could ever meet the carers the dining staff they couldn't have been nicer.
Bridge Court is home from home and that's how they like you to treat your stay. Visitors are encouraged and I even took my dog in to see Mum because she missed him.
If there is ever another occasion that Mum needs respite care I would definitely choose Bridge Court.

I can't thank them enough.

Exceeded our expectations. Mum arrived at Bridge Court for some post-surgery rehabilitation, both of us feeling very nervous about what to expect. She left with confidence having received excellent physio support from the Therapies on Thames team. Beginning with the warmest of welcomes when she arrived, she enjoyed her stay whilst benefitting from the opportunity to fast-track her recovery. Every single member of the Bridge Court team - whatever their role - contributed to her feeling of being cared for and supporting her aim to get back on her feet as quickly as she could. Exceptional staff providing meticulous care with an individual experience - all with good humour and genuine care. Thank you.

All staff were faultless - kind, reassuring and Mum's stay achieved what was needed, to rebuild her strength, following recent illness. Food outstanding. Room very comfortable, although there were issues & the underfloor heating results in the room being too hot and then too cold.

Although my mother appreciates the house and garden, the biggest plus of Bridge House (and its stand out feature) is the staff. They are unfailingly kind, committed and understanding of my mother's condition. I have never seen a single member of staff be anything other than compassionate and professional even under trying circumstances. There is a team spirit and a sense of fun. Dementia team are exceptional.

Thank you so much for all your help getting my dad back on his feet. After struggling with walking due to his hip popping out twice after a total hip surgery. He's now fitter and more agile than he's been in years.

We've always felt so welcomed and happy with all the staff who work so hard and are always smiling.

My father was, at times when his dementia got worse, very difficult to cope with, the staff were extremely patient and kind with him and dealt with him excellently with so much kindness and professionalism, l can't think of anywhere else l would have wanted him to be in. They provided care and attention and lots of entertaining things all the time he couldn't get bored there. Their care was exceptional, l owe a big thanks to all the staff, also you are made so welcome every time you visit your loved one.

My mother stayed at Bridge House Nursing Home for ten weeks until November 2023. The room was clean and well-appointed and had a lovely view of the extensive gardens, which are really beautiful.
The staff were really friendly, kind and patient. The food is excellent and varied and they are very flexible in the kitchen and will prepare an alternative if required. The nurses were really patient and kind and always looked after my mother with great attentiveness. The local GP came out each week and reviewed her and her drug programme which helped a lot.

There are plenty of staff around and there is always someone to talk to if you have any questions which is important. I had every confidence in the environment that was created in the home and I am glad that my mother was comfortable and happy in the home.

Following a stressful six weeks in hospital and rehabilitation unit, my husband had made no progress in mobilising after having surgery for a hip fracture.
He had a history of stroke fifteen years ago which had left him with right leg weakness and additionally, unable to speak.

The staff and physio team at Bridge House Nursing Home quickly established respectful and caring communication with him and with excellent staffing levers (especially of physios), it only took four weeks to regain safe walking. Thank you to all involved.

My wife and I are very happy indeed with the standard of care provided at Bridge House, where we have three relatives who are residents. The staff are wonderful - very kind caring and compassionate - and the facilities seem to us to be fine. Communication is excellent, real efforts are made to entertain the residents and the staff seem to me to be very responsive to their individual needs.

My only (minor) comment is that two of our relatives find the music constantly playing in the public rooms to be very wearing - it's great when the conservatory is open and they can 'escape', but this is not always the case. I think it would be worth reviewing whether music should be played as much as it is.

My partner's mother came to you with many physical issues, being discharged from a hospital near her during Covid. She was isolated and restored to full health and is now in Bridge House Nursing Home.

The first time I came to your home I thought I would come here. As a past manager/nurse in both EMI ward and day hospital, I was so impressed with the physical, social and as she was so anxious, her psychological care. That this very independent character says she is so happy makes her family and friends happy too. Thank you and the staff who perhaps do not realise how good they are.
