The moment Mother excitedly arrived at Glebelands Care Home she was home. Mother's family grew over-night; her friendships blossomed and her diary was eventful. The Glebelands team are the loveliest people you'll ever meet. Their loving care and dedication of Mother was exceptional at all times. Mother's
independence in the earlier years to the seamless transition to full nursing care at the end of Mother's life, the Glebelands team were professional, dedicated and exemplary. Mother loved Glebeland's Summer Parties, the trips out to lovely venues in the 007 minibus, the in-house entertainments of every variety, the elegance of the magnificent building and her exquisite bedroom. Family and friends loved visiting Mother and were always made to feel welcome. The nursing, administration and care teams know that Mother's family are considering Glebelands for themselves one day! To ALL of the Glebeland's staff that cared for Mother... you know who you are, thank you with all my heart.

Mother joined Glebelands for respite care in the winter of 2016 and the Glebeland's staff welcomed her with open arms. She thus began a wonderful 5-year journey with them. In Mother's words, she had the most beautiful room in the residence. She had a top room with windows, this was important because
as a lifelong ornithologist and wildlife artist, nature was vital to her sense of well-being. She also had a window seat in the gorgeous dining room and attended weekly events which kept her life rich and full. The residence has extremely professional management and staff and we have always been certain of Mother’s happiness and safety. Sadly, in recent months, Mother’s health deteriorated as old age caught up with her. Her daily carers were supportive. In closing, we could not recommend Glebelands more highly. As her daughter, I have always been confident that she was loved and cared for.

My mum had been in the home for about four and a half years she was happy and content. The carers were always on hand to help with any problems and nothing was too much trouble.

My husband was a resident for just one month before he died. He was very weak when he arrived at Glebelands, he was reassured and was made comfortable immediately and received excellent nursing care until the end of his life. I was kept up to date with the changing situation, which due to covid-19,
made things more difficult for residents and relatives. He was treated with respect and dignity, which I very much appreciated.

My husband was admitted to Glebelands in March after being given weeks to live after a diagnosis of brain cancer. We were made to feel welcome (pre Covid). Despite my husband having already mostly lost his ability to speak, the staff made every effort to get to know him as a person and us as a family.
We even had a "wedding ceremony" so he could see our daughter get married. When Covid closed the home, we were devastated, but the staff took excellent care of my husband as he deteriorated. Everyone who looked after him was so caring and made sure we were kept updated as he declined. He passed away peacefully five months later; we were all with him at the end, playing his favourite music. The kindness and compassion of everyone on duty that day were truly commendable.
We are very grateful for the care my husband received in his last months. The enforced separation was very hard as we knew that he didn't have long but we understood the reasons for it. The manager and the team did an amazing job given the circumstances.

My sister was in Glebelands Nursing Home for 10 days of palliation care at the end of her life. She was very poorly, and we (her family) were happy to find full-time nursing care for her with daily visits by the district nurse (and supplemented by the Sue Ryder PCN when needed). I can't speak too highly
of our experience; peace and quiet, some of her things around her and good food when she could eat. We (family and friends) could visit at any time and were made welcome and looked after, cups of tea and occasional meals. Such kindness brings tears to my eyes as I write. I couldn't wish for a better end.

My wife spent the last days of her life being cared for in and by the staff at Glebelands. She could not have been in a better place for the final weeks of her life. In addition to the lovely building and grounds, all the team we dealt with showed the greatest care and sympathy for the situation that
my wife and family were enduring. Nothing was too much trouble for them. At times it seemed as though there was a shortage of staff but that did not prevent them giving their attention and care they had shown throughout the time my wife was in the home.

Generally, my brother is looked after very well. Because of his sensory needs communicating with him is very difficult, but the staff try very hard to overcome this.
My only criticism is his trousers are washed nearly every day which is unnecessary as he is not incontinent.

The moment you walk through the entrance, the warmth of friendly greetings by the nurses, carers, office and kitchen staff who are looking after the residents in every way, makes you feel assured that your loved one is being well looked after.

Lovely home and grounds. Efficiently run by competent staff. All grades of staff are friendly and approachable. Excellent nursing care.
It's such a difficult task finding suitable care facilities for a loved one and then trusting them with that care. What makes the difference for me is not just seeing
the care being provided but the way the staff interact with me on my visits and how they answer my many questions!
Over the 18 months my mother has required nursing care and it is obvious she has been patiently nursed and her needs monitored and altered appropriately. Any issues or decisions are promptly conveyed and discussed with me. The senior nurses have excelled in this area!
All the staff are extremely helpful and I can't thank them enough for their loving care of my mother.

Glebelands is a warm and welcoming place. Dad was made to feel at home and was very well cared for. He was always cleanly shaven, clean and tidy clothes, which was so important to him. The staff are all extremely kind, caring and well trained. The facilities are good, plenty of appropriate activities
and the large gardens are stunning. I have no hesitation in recommending Glebelands and its staff as we have been delighted with Dad's care.

Glebelands is a wonderful place - not only do they care for their residents, they also really care about their residents. They have supported our family through a difficult transition, we are so grateful.
My dad has Parkinson's and I dreaded trusting someone else to look after him. I didn't need to
worry. The staff are amazing. They treat dad with respect and have taken time to get to know him.
They always keep me informed. They have also been incredibly kind to my mum, after 53 years of marriage, it's been a huge change for her too. I cannot recommend Glebelands enough and everyone who visits dad is just as impressed. Thank you.

My mother has been in Glebelands for nearly a year. She was made very welcome , feels well-cared for and feels she is understood. Visitors are also made very welcome. I am always contacted if there are any problems and the staff are often available if I have any concerns and will follow up any queries.
There are a range of activities for her to be involved in and the activity staff will visit her in her room as will staff for doing her hair, nails or relaxation.

Mum has lived here for over seven years now and has gone from strength to strength.
She loves the activities such as getting her nails done and enjoys wheelchair exercises and meditation. It was difficult for me to stop caring for mum when she needed more nursing but I have watched her get her enjoyment
of life back and embrace the change.

Without knowing what money is spent on it is difficult to know whether it is good value. To put the cost in perspective a year's fees would buy several new cars. Some staff good, some satisfactory, some excellent.
