Woodbury House Care Centre

Woodbury is an excellent Care home with a warm, friendly and homely atmosphere which I can thoroughly recommend.

My Mother became a resident in May this year followed by my Father who had a terminal illness a few weeks later. As a family, we have been shown such care and support from all the staff at a difficult time of transition in our lives. My parents have been treated with dignity as individuals with individual needs and particularly with sensitivity during the last months before and after Dad passed away in November.

Throughout this time the Manager has been very approachable and allowed time to answer any questions or concerns that have arisen. I am sure my Mother will continue to receive the same high standard of care.

The atmosphere within the home continues to be friendly and supportive and homely. My father has been a resident for 18 months now and feels settled in the homely environment that is built by every member of staff within the home and says that he would not want to be anywhere else.

All staff are very approachable and more than willing to answer any queries that may arise. There is a constant effort to make the day-to-day lives of the residents as fulfilling as possible but with the personal feelings of the residents taken into account.

All in all, Woodbury House is like a home from home and I am more than happy with the standard of care that is being afforded to my father.

The two essential features a care home must have are; a caring and dedicated staff who invariably treat the residents with care and dignity and a friendly atmosphere. Woodbury House has both of those in abundance. My wife was resident at Woodbury House for two and a half years and during that time I visited her on many mornings and for several hours every afternoon. I was thus able to see at first hand over an extended period how the home operated. I had absolutely no reservations at all over the treatment and care she received. More recently I have regularly been visiting a neighbour who is now resident at Woodbury House and I have seen that the same high standard of care that my wife received is still being maintained.

I am unable to comment on value for money as I don't know costs.

Mum has been at the home for about 3 months. The staff are great with mum and she received excellent care. They always treat her with dignity and respect. All the staff are very friendly and available if you need to talk to them. Overall, very happy with the home.

The atmosphere of Woodbury House is a warm and friendly one. The manager is a true professional always on hand in times of difficulty. This high standard was mirrored by all the staff. I cannot thank this team enough for the care they gave my cousin and the rest of the family and friends.

A lot of my wife's friends also made the comment what a happy place the home was and long may it stay that way!

I'm so happy that my mum has got a placement here. I know she is in a safe environment. The home is very clean and staff are excellent and attentive with the clients. Nothing is too much trouble.

My wife wants for nothing in this home and had kept all aspects of her dignity and I can rest knowing she is in safe hands.

Woodbury House Care Centre is furnished to a high standard and is well equipped to provide a high level of care to residents suffering from dementia.

The success of Woodberry House Care Centre was down to the manager who set the ethos for it and had an excellent staff team who responded. She was a qualified nurse with good management skills. She recognised the root causes of our friend's behaviour and so was able to help us to understand and so to support the friend much better. We cannot rate it highly .

As a friend of a resident with dementia, she is unable to respond. What I have seen is satisfactory.

The care, support and professional approach to all are truly outstanding. All members of staff are exceptional and welcoming. I wholeheartedly recommend Woodbury House without reservation.

All staff were friendly and welcoming. All staff showed a high level of care to not only my mother but to all other residents. The staff made regular contact with myself and other family members regarding my mother's health deteriorating due to progression of her dementia, all staff treated my mother with dignity and respect. In the last few days of her life, all staff demonstrated a high level of care to my mother but also provided unbelievable support of myself and my family. The staff at Woodbury House made a difficult time for us much more bearable.

I am very happy with the care that Mum has received at Woodbury House. All the staff are very friendly and approachable and importantly I have found the team very responsive to changes in Mums' needs. Real efforts were put into her birthday 'tea' to ensure that it was made special for her, which was lovely. The recent refurbishment has greatly improved the ambience of the home too. Choosing a suitable home for a loved one is never an easy task, so it makes me happy to see Mum settled and well cared for.

My mother has now been in the Care Home for approximately six months. She is very happy to be a resident at the home. She is very well cared for and gets on well with staff and other residents. She is now eating well (something she has not been doing for some time). The staff are very kind and very attentive to my mother's needs. The staff stimulate my mother and as a result, she is much more talkative when I visit.

My father has been in Woodbury House since Sept 2016, due to a rapid decline in his health leading to the inability to care for himself at home. The staff at Woodbury House have been really supportive to both myself and my father during the transition into nursing care. All the staff are really friendly and nothing is to much trouble, The whole house has recently been refurbished to a high standard and it is kept really clean, I have enjoyed 2 lunches with my dad, and the food is very good with alternative options available. Overall I am really pleased with my father's care and more importantly so is he.

We only used the home for 5 weeks but found the staff very good and caring. They did everything we wished for in the last few days of Dads life. The rooms were in need of decoration and this was under way in the home. We would recommend this home to anyone else.

The building fabric is tired but a refit will soon put this right. Lovely location for my forming family. Thank you Woodbury.
