Hampden Hall Care Centre

My father stayed at Hampden Hall for a year before he sadly died this February. During his time at Hampden, his medical needs were met brilliantly. In fact, medically, he was more stable than he has been for many years during his long illness. Everyone in the home was very caring and kind. This included the cleaning staff, the reception and admin staff and the kitchen team.

We were always met with a smile and lots of care and concern. As a visitor, this can be so very important, it can be difficult leaving your loved one in a care home and visiting every day but knowing the people were so kind and friendly at Hampden made a real difference. This was especially important to us during Dad's final weeks.

The care and sensitivity of the nursing and care staff were second to none. We were supported and helped and my Dad's needs were kindly met with attention and dignity. For this, we are so very thankful. We felt like part of the family at Hampden Hall. This was important for us and for Dad. Thank you all so much.

Very good home. My wife is treated with love and care. Mostly I have always been made very welcome on visiting.

A lovely clean well run nursing home that provides my mom with the care and comforts she rightfully deserves. The staff are all very friendly and well trained in their respective jobs. I would not hesitate to recommend this care/nursing home.

The standard of care has been first class at all times with the staff without exception ready to do your every wish. There really is nothing I can suggest to be changed in any way. Food generally excellent.

I have always found all staff very helpful and always willing to help. I had confidence that mum's last year or so would be spent in a safe and caring environment and in her last weeks she received outstanding end of life care- nothing was too much. Also, my brother and myself were attended to in a most considerate way, at a time when it was most required.

Overall a good experience, a happy home, caring staff (extra mile shown on more occasions than not) manager excellent with knowledge of procedures, a great help on the first visit to the home, reception staff open/honest- all staff inc of cleaners polite and helpful, always referring to my father by name. Negative- some staff had problems with spoken English as my father has hearing problems however when I was around this was overcome and was always attended to promptly, their willingness to help and understand was always prominent, the home could do with an update re-carpets but am understanding this is on track for future, once again am very happy my father is under the care of this home.

My husband hates respite but managed to survive two weeks! The woman who ran the floor was brilliant and they made sure he was in the lounge everyday. There was an "entertainer" singing, talking etc- most of the time and there always seemed to be sufficient staff around. In a lot of homes the staff ratios appear too low, the staff were pro-active and very helpful to me. Am considering getting him back for another break if they have room. Two of the biggest problems are lack of respite places and inability to book in advance.

My mother-in-law was only a resident for 6 days, but in that time she had the best possible care we could of wished for.

My mother was given the best possible care whilst in the home. All the staff were very caring especially one carer who was a great support, and although he was not working the night mum died he came from his room and sat with me.

The care at Hampden Hall was exceptional. The staff were attentive, kind and very professional. They quickly built a relationship with my dad and treated him as an individual.I would particularly like to mention two carers for the attention they paid my dad, in addition they were very caring to my mum too on her frequent visits. All of the staff were very good and well managed. I would recommend Hampden Hall Care Centre to other families without reservation.

I cared for my Grandmother for a year, until her illness dictated that I could no longer provide the nursing care she now required. I didn't want to put her into a home, and felt extremely guilty, and as if I had failed her. It didn't take long for me to realise how wrong I was in feeling that way. Every member of staff at Hampden Hall was amazing and couldn't of done any more for her, or my family. Nan always looked happy, clean and well cared for, no matter what time of day myself or family visited her. One of the most important things for me, was that her dignity was kept all her times, as I know this would of been something that she would of wanted. I would highly recommend Hampden Hall. The four and a half months Nan stayed here were fantastic, it meant that I could visit daily and enjoy my time being with her. A huge thank you to all staff that helped look after Nan, and to the Activities Coordinator for all the time he spent chatting to her.
