Lewin House in Aylesbury is a pleasant and lively care home offering nursing and dementia nursing care for 70 individuals spread across four ‘houses’.

The enthusiastic and caring team pride themselves on getting to know each individual resident and building relationships and communities within the home.

Each ‘house’ has lovely communal areas which are used for relaxing, socialising and building friendships. The extensive landscaped gardens offer a chance for residents to partake in light exercise or simply enjoy the fresh air.

Every time I visit my mother at Lewin House I always receive a warm reception from all of the staff I meet, from the cleaners through to the managers. I can not complain about the excellent level of care she receives, especially at this difficult time. I have recommended Lewin House to other families
looking for a good home. Lewin House maintains an excellent family feel.

Lewin House has a warm welcoming atmosphere. The cheerful team treat residents and visitors with respect as one would treat a family member. They seem to have a policy of continuous improvement. The decor is updated to reflect the events of the year. Residents individual preferences are checked as a
matter of course whether for food choices, activities etc. The medical staff are able to give a detailed response to questions and communication with relatives is excellent.

My mum was only in Lewin House for just under four weeks as she had terminal cancer, however, she was very well looked after during the time she was in there. The staff were all friendly and caring not only to my mum but to myself as it was a very difficult time for us all. The building is spotless
and lovely, light and airy. Rooms are very well equipped and spacious. Mum was treated with respect and dignity right up until she passed away.

Lewin House is very special. The care, compassion and dignified way they treat their residents is to be highly commended. Sadly my mother-in-law passed away whilst in their care in June. She was only with them in the dementia unit for a short time, but I cannot fault the care they gave her and wish
that she had been with them from the start of her care home journey. All staff are cheerful, friendly and very welcoming, from our very first meeting with them to view the facilities to the lovely lady that cleans the rooms and the cheerful handyman. If I had to choose a care home for myself it would be here. Thank you to you all for making her last few weeks with us as comfortable and dignified as you possibly could. You didn’t just provide the care, you cared and that makes all the difference.

My mother has been cared for by the staff at Lewin House this year in such a way as to have made her feel loved as an individual and care has been given with great kindness and compassion. The house has a great welcome in appearance and freshness and everyone speaks and smiles. My mother settled in
really well and was very happy. There was no aspect of her care which gave me cause for concern and I highly recommend Lewin House to anyone looking for a home for their loved ones.

This home is fantastic. The staff work well together and respect each other, and their residents. The care is the best and at all times kindness is shown to all their residents and they treat them with such dignity. The home supports the families as well and keeps us informed of residents care.
The lady who runs the activities is so good with the residents and has such a lovely relationship with them and enjoys planning and delivering the activities, which are varied. The senior management team work well together and when you phone up, they always know who you are and know all about your relative. Security is good, but at no time does it feel claustrophobic. The home is light and airy and the decor is interesting. There is lots of lovely artwork on the walls and they change the scenery in the home regularly, with their themed events. The food is good and the menu varies, the chef talks to the residents and gets ideas and requests from them. The home is always spotless.

Although my husband was only in Lewin House for several weeks, we found the care extremely good, friendly (always smiling!) and efficient. His oxygen requirements were always going to be testing! They were very thorough and precise with his needs in this area.
The room was very spacious which gave
me with my wheelchair enough room for manoeuvres.

My dear friend is staying in Lewis House and it is amazing. Every member of staff I have met is friendly and welcoming. All make you feel at home as a visitor. The house is spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. There are very homely touches. I could not fault it.

After visiting several care homes in the area I chose Lewin House as the very best place to look after my sister. I am always confident that I made the right choice because my sister is well cared for and her life made interesting with a variety of activities cleverly linked to topical events and seasonal
festivals. Her personality and preferences are respected and catered for and she is mentally stimulated to enjoy the sociable environment. I am happy with the medical care my sisters receives and with the fact that staff management has resulted in the friendly co-operation between personnel at all levels which benefits both residents and staff.

My mother moved into Lewin House in March 2018.
The staff are kind and caring.
The food is excellent.
The standard of cleanliness is excellent.
Mum was made to feel very welcome from Day 1 and this continues to be the case.
The activities staff involve her and encourage her to take part in many
things, particularly singing.

Mum is very happy in Lewin House. The staff are caring and compassionate and interact well with Mum. As you can see I am more than satisfied with the care and attention I receive from the staff.
I have never felt this safe and secure in the last 4 years and this is due to the care I receive.

My mother is receiving excellent care at Lewin House. The staff on House One are friendly, attentive and very caring.
My mother lives with Lewy body dementia and her behaviour can be very challenging at times. The dementia care manager is superb. Our family are offered massive support by the manager
and her team as we all try to care for our mother.

My brother has been a resident in Lewin House for six and a half years. The caring has been very good and of course, there has been ups and downs. He has been shown respect and kindness.
Any concerns have been addressed when needed. The building could do with refurbishment as it's not so homely and
welcoming on the fourth floor.

I have found Lewin House a very warm and friendly environment to be in. Trying to accept it was the right move for my dad has been the hardest thing I have ever done, but with the help from the staff who have welcomed 'us' into their home, it has been made easier to accept. The level of care they give
to each and everyone is exceptional and as I have witnessed on many occasions, nothing seems too much trouble, considering the amount of paperwork they do and the long hours they put in. They all commit 100% and beyond. Dad seems to have settled in well and is now getting used to the familiar faces he sees every day. Fingers crossed it continues this way, because if he is happy, I am happy (sort of).

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2020

As a graduate of the Medical University in Sofia, Bulgaria with a degree in Health and Social Care together with extensive knowledge of Pulmonary Disease, Katie has a wealth of experience working in the Social Care sector.


Her career with The Fremantle Trust started at Cherry Garth, Holmer Green where she worked with the team as a relief nurse. A transfer across to Lewin House then saw Katie progress from Staff Nurse, to Unit Manager and Clinical Lead to the role she holds now, as Home Manager.
