My father recently passed away peacefully in Mandeville Grange after being a resident there for almost 3 years. The staff were always very caring, friendly and helpful and during his last few days of life, they were especially lovely to him and to us his family.

Upon my initial visit to Mandeville Grange, I was totally impressed. Greeted at the front door with a big smile from one of the carers, I was shown to my husband's prospective room. Clean and tidy with wardrobes and television. Lovely smell of homecooked fish and chips coming from the kitchen. Nice sized lounge and dining room. All the staff were welcoming and helpful, with a long list of activities available for the residents.
My husband moved in early 22/11/2023 and was upgraded to a room with a self-contained wet room and toilet a good size and welcoming.

Since his arrival, my husband has been involved in all the activities and settled in very quickly. He is exceedingly well looked after. All the staff are attentive and very caring. The home is clean and well-maintained, and from my observation, the residents are very happy and relaxed. The beds are made daily and all clothing changed daily, washed and hung back again in the wardrobes. I highly recommend this home for their caring and attentive staff.

The kindness, care, love and humour shown to Mum was wonderful by all the staff at Mandeville Grange. Knowing she was safe and comfortable gave us great peace of mind. When Mum died, the care, respect and kindness continued and extended to all her family.

When a relative has to go into a care home for any reason, it can be a very stressful time for the resident and their relatives. We (the family) are absolutely amazed at the care and attention given to my sister-in-law. She is so well looked after and cared for. The staff cannot be praised enough for the care they give her. Every little thing she asked for is attended to. You have our very grateful thanks!

I find the care home is now efficient with pleasant and caring staff. The resident is very happy there and says the staff are very friendly. The resident is looking very well and I do think she has gained a little weight.

Review from Michelle V (Relative of Resident) published on 21 December 2023 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My initial thoughts were the home seemed caring and homely, but when I asked questions about my relative, I was shouted at by the home manager which then set a pattern of her being abusive to me. After about a month my relative was mentally suffering so I taped them and was astounded to realise that some of the staff were mentally abusing her to the point she could not talk for 3 months. My relative has now moved and she's now back to her normal self. If you love your relative, I would think twice before sending them there. They are not what they appear to be.

As a team we cared for your relative from her admission to Mandeville Grange on the 6th March this year, two months later at her care review, by your own admission your relative had never been happier and you were very...

Staff are very caring. Mum is well cared for, and it is a home from home. There is a very welcoming atmosphere when you walk into the home. Not the most modern of homes, but that is not what one needs or would want. She has everything she needs. You can see how well looked after she is, and it gives us peace of mind.

I would like to thank all the staff for their care and dedication. Everyone is very nice and all my needs are met. It knocks spots off the last place I was in. The food is nice and I get ice cream every day! I would recommend Mandeville Grange to anyone looking for care.

Cannot praise the manager and her team enough. I moved my Father to Mandeville Grange after he received poor care in another home. Dad's needs are fully met by attentive staff. My dad's whole attitude to life has changed, he is now smiling and looks forward to the lovely meals provided. Thank you to all that work at Mandeville Grange for your help and support with dad. 5 Star.

This is the first week my mother has spent in Mandeville Grange. The transition from her previous residential care home went very well and my mother was kept calm. Since being here, her skin has greatly improved. She does have complexed needs relating to her skin and I can see a big improvement, a lot of the inflammation has gone down and her skin is very well hydrated. I also feel her attitude has changed a bit. She seems more engaged with her surroundings.

My mother was a resident at Mandeville Grange from March 2019 until she passed away in January 2023. During her time as a resident, she became frail and immobile due to old age. The staff were superb, recognising mum's past personal standards relating to her dress and appearance; for example, her nails which were her pride and joy were always manicured and polished. The staff gave her love, they always went that 'one mile more'. This home is outstanding and one I highly recommend.

We could not have wished my husband to have ended his life in a more loving, caring and beautiful home - a real home with such kind and caring people around him. I wouldn't have believed it possible, everything was so lovely under the manager's leadership, with such respect and care for the dying. They made his passing away peaceful, surrounded by us, his family, and so much respect was shown. My daughters and I thank them all from the bottom of our hearts. Bless you, all.
