My visit was easy to arrange by telephone. The COVID testing was quickly done and after a 30-minute wait, I was escorted to my friend's room. The carer made me very welcome and I was given tea and biscuits. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice and clean. The outlook to a
well-kept garden was very pleasant. Overall I was very pleased with the care home and the staff.

Mum is very happy at Mandeville Grange. The staff take care of her with dignity and compassion and they are very attentive to her needs. The staff are professional and well-trained to look after guests with dementia. This home has made improvements over lockdown and it is very well maintained and the
gardens are beautiful. This home is friendly and has a very caring and safe environment. The activities are brilliant and enjoyed by many guests.
Thank you Mandeville Grange for looking after our very special mum, it is a relief to know she is in your good hands.

During the COVID pandemic restrictions I have been unable to visit my husband, but I know he has been very well cared for in a loving environment and this has put my mind at rest. The home is like a home from home for him and at the same time, the care home staff and management are extremely professional.

Mum has been a resident at Mandeville Grange for just over two years. She received very good care and support from the staff, many of whom she is extremely fond of. Mum has a lovely room, which is kept clean and tidy. She enjoys the activities that are organised for the residents. There is a real sense
of 'fun' from the staff, which is wonderful. I would like to thank Mandeville Grange for dealing with the constraints of Covid so positively. The addition of the visitor's room has been amazing. Most importantly, Mum is happy. Thank you, everyone, at Mandeville Grange.

Because of Coivd, I wasn't able to see anything of the home except for my mum's room, but that seemed clean; she had a TV and the staff are very friendly and caring.

What a lovely home Mandeville Grange is. The staff are loving but very respectful to the residents. Our Auntie could not have been in a more caring environment. The home was immaculately clean and always smelled fresh without the overpowering smell of artificial air fresheners. The manager was always
around and kept in contact with the residents and helped the staff with routine jobs when necessary. Would recommend this home.

The staff are just so lovely, they make you feel so welcome. They all seem to have such a good rapport with Nan and are really caring towards her. I was given an apron and visor for the visit and sanitiser and a screen was put up in front of us so it all felt very safe and managed. Such a lovely visit!

I am very impressed with Mandeville Grange. My sister-in-law is very happy. The staff are wonderful. They will always make time to talk to me. It's a very 'homely' care home. It gives me great peace of mind to know she is being cared for and is safe.

I have found the facilities spotlessly clean, warm and homely. The staff are friendly, kind and very caring. There is a pleasant, friendly, happy atmosphere and it is very professional. My relative seems comfortable and relaxed. The precautions put in place throughout the Covid pandemic have been thorough
in every aspect, as well as sympathetic to the relatives' situations.

Staff are extremely caring, friendly and attentive. Moreover, the staff are mostly permanent, rather than agency, thereby giving the residents more familiarity and reassurance. The home has a real 'family' feeling all of the time.

My mum was looked after with empathy, sensitivity and unobtrusive care. She was not someone that needed constant companionship but the staff at Mandeville Grange were there when she needed them with a smile and gentle words of encouragement. My brother and I know that she was happy and well looked after
in her final weeks. We will be forever grateful that Mandeville Grange has provided us with good memories of Mum.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.828)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.828) out of 10 for Mandeville Grange Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 32 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.828 for Mandeville Grange Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (317 Excellents x 5) + (55 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 377 Ratings = 4.828
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Mandeville Grange Nursing Home is based on 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 31 registered maximum number of service users is 6.2, which has been reached with 32 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
