Stone House Nursing Home provides care and support to older people living in Aylesbury. The home was built in 1862 and is located in five acres of grounds.

Residents receive round the clock personal care and are assisted as much or as little as they like. They have open and evolving, digital care plans to provide individual, effective and reliable care. This provides peace of mind for residents and their relatives alike. Care plans are regularly monitored and are tailored to each resident's needs and involve family members, friends, and medical practitioners, who help to ensure the correct level of care and support is provided.

All bedrooms are fully furnished, come equipped with an electric bed, SMART television, call bell, telephone and Sky TV facility if desired. The home has fibre Wi-Fi available for all residents and a dedicated guest network throughout. iPad tablets, FaceTime, Zoom and Skype access enable regular communication between residents and their relatives.

The home's chef uses fresh local produce to provide a wonderful choice of meals on a daily basis. Residents may choose where they take their meals, be it in the privacy of their own room or together with other residents (and often friends and relatives) in the dining room.

The home has exceptional activities coordinators who arrange a varied programme of events and outings with its bespoke minibus, including visits to local stately homes, drama therapy, musical entertainment, Yoga, virtual reality headsets and the more earthy pursuits of helping the garden to look as wonderful as it does.

Very caring establishment with wonderful staff. Good accommodation and facilities with a full programme of activities for those able to participate. Nice grounds available for fresh air - weather permitting.
The medical support provided has been exceptional and it is very reassuring to know one's relative

I have always found the staff to be helpful, genuinely caring and friendly. My mother has been a resident at Stone House for 18 months, and in that time, has enjoyed a wide variety of activities from crafts, music, animal visits (dogs, monkeys, alpaca and even penguins) to outings to the cinema, the
local garden centre, the Christmas lights at Waddesdon Manor and many others. The food is very good, and once a month, we have lunch together in the dining room. The gardens are lovely, and with the improvements that are currently being made, they will be even better in 2024.

Stone House Nursing Home is sat in beautiful countryside with two Holm Oaks. The exterior is a small geo country house and an extremely quiet interior which creates an atmosphere of calm and peacefulness so important for all residents and quiet efficient and dedicated staff.
Since my husband arrived
in June 2018, I have had no complaints. The food is excellent and nursing care is exceptional with all staff ready to discuss any problems. I would be more than happy to be a resident here.

My mother received outstanding nursing care during her short three-week stay. The management team took time to asses her needs and know her family, and on arrival, all staff were well briefed. The nursing and care team showed empathy, responded promptly to my mother's needs and were proactive in engaging
specialist external support when required as well as providing ongoing feedback regarding my mother's complex medical needs. This released the care burden from our shoulders, allowing us to spend quality time with my mother, knowing she was being looked after in a professional and loving manner. We consider the staff at Stone House as friends or more of an extension of our family. For this, we will be forever grateful. Thank you, Stone House.

Prior to Mum coming to Stone House, Mum had a very traumatic three months being in two hospitals and having a bad experience staying in a temporary nursing home. The staff at Stone House have been very caring and understanding and Mum had settled and says how nice the staff are. The chefs are very accommodating,
so she can have a varied diet as Mum has a lactose-free diet. The maintenance staff have put up shelves so she can have personal things from her home, which makes it feel more homely. The family feel Mum is safe and well cared for.

Having had previous experience with Stone House, it was interesting to see the subtle changes of modernisation without interfering with the charming exterior appearance. Large well kept gardens surround the home, ideal at the rear for walking with carers or wheelchairs to enjoy the wildlife, birds and
squirrels etc. The food and service are excellent, served in the dining room, your own room or lounge. The carers are all extremely friendly, polite and efficient, as with the nursing staff who are keen to help when possible.

Our 91-year-old mother became a resident this summer arriving with complicated dementia and health needs. After a lovely welcome, she settled in well; liking her room, the food and the staff, who took the time to chat with her, getting to know her likes, dislikes and about her life. She was looking
forward to walking in the lovely gardens and joining some of the many activities on offer to the residents. Sadly, it was not to be as her health deteriorated. However, the Stone House team managed her increasing needs exceptionally well and with great professionalism despite the difficult circumstances. The attention to detail was simply outstanding and we will always be grateful. Stone House is extremely well managed at all levels. Staff are friendly, approachable and professional, delivering a high level of care. Our Mother felt she was in a safe environment, well looked after by the caring and attentive staff - this was hugely important and comforting to her family.

My mother went through a difficult time with the onset of dementia. That and a coincidence with the pandemic resulted in some family challenges. Stone House were brilliantly helpful in guiding us through the process, they remained understanding throughout. They were always ready to update on the phone
at a time when family members were not permitted to visit. Although Mother was not there for a long period, I feel sure she would have settled if she had had more time.

My wife became a full time resident on 11th March 2020, two days before "lockdown". Thus began a long and distressing period apart, with our only contact via the telephone. My wife was expertly and sympathetically looked after by nursing and care staff, during a period which must have been confusing
and lonely for her. I always felt free to talk to both management and nursing staff, because I had little time to settle my wife in I was allowed to leave carefully chosen items to keep my wife occupied. My thanks go out to all staff for keeping my wife safe and well while at the same time recognising the stress that both patient and family go through.

My mother, aged 98, was admitted from hospital with respiratory failure which was not reversible. She spent her last days at Stone House. It was wonderful for us all to know that she was safe in a beautiful room with all the equipment she needed, kindly nursed with dignity and respect. When she passed
away, everyone was so kind. We are so grateful, as we all felt looked after and what could have been hugely distressing became a kind family experience.

All Stone House staff from gardeners and kitchen staff to nurses and carers provide exceptional loving care to their residents. Each resident is treated as an individual and their needs and foibles attend to whenever possible.
Stone House may bot have the most modern facilities but it is kept exceptionally
clean. The quantity and quality of outside entertainers are also good.

I moved my mother from her home to Stone House Nursing Home last October 2019.
I chose this home primarily because of the warm welcome I received from everyone when viewing and the homely feel. The staff/carers are extremely welcoming and make a point of keeping every resident comfortable whilst retaining
their dignity at all times. There are activities to keep residents stimulated and visits from outside entertainers. There are also outings in a special minibus for those who wish to participate.
My mother has settled in well and has improved since her stay. The staff are all very patient and caring, providing help for relatives as well as the residents. They have an open-door policy so relatives can visit at any time. All rooms are clean and bright with beautiful views of the well-kept gardens.
I highly recommend this nursing home!!

My Mum has been at Stone House for a year. My sister and I have been able to relax since she arrived knowing that we can trust the staff to look after her, whatever occurs. Mum has dementia and although we’d dreaded moving her out of her own home, she’s been happier at Stone House than we’d imagined
possible. She spends her day in the lounge with things going on around her which keep her from being bored. She has her hair done and her nails painted which helps her feel special. She joins in activities and has been on an excursion giving her a change of scene. Whatever she’s doing we know there are enough professional people around her to deal with every eventuality. She’s had some minor health issues recently and we’ve been kept informed of each setback and kept up-to-date with steps taken to help her and keep her comfortable. At her care review, we were asked what we’d change to improve things and we were unable to make a single suggestion because Mum’s every need is being met.
