Our 91-year-old mother became a resident this summer arriving with complicated dementia and health needs. After a lovely welcome, she settled in well; liking her room, the food and the staff, who took the time to chat with her, getting to know her likes, dislikes and about her life. She was looking forward to walking in the lovely gardens and joining some of the many activities on offer to the residents. Sadly, it was not to be as her health deteriorated. However, the Stone House team managed her increasing needs exceptionally well and with great professionalism despite the difficult circumstances. The attention to detail was simply outstanding and we will always be grateful. Stone House is extremely well managed at all levels. Staff are friendly, approachable and professional, delivering a high level of care. Our Mother felt she was in a safe environment, well looked after by the caring and attentive staff - this was hugely important and comforting to her family.

My mother went through a difficult time with the onset of dementia. That and a coincidence with the pandemic resulted in some family challenges. Stone House were brilliantly helpful in guiding us through the process, they remained understanding throughout. They were always ready to update on the phone at a time when family members were not permitted to visit. Although Mother was not there for a long period, I feel sure she would have settled if she had had more time.

Stone House did their very best for my mother in the last month or so of her life. It was much appreciated. The manager was particularly helpful both in facilitating her getting into Stone House, looking after her while she was there and communicating with family.

My wife became a full time resident on 11th March 2020, two days before "lockdown". Thus began a long and distressing period apart, with our only contact via the telephone. My wife was expertly and sympathetically looked after by nursing and care staff, during a period which must have been confusing and lonely for her. I always felt free to talk to both management and nursing staff, because I had little time to settle my wife in I was allowed to leave carefully chosen items to keep my wife occupied. My thanks go out to all staff for keeping my wife safe and well while at the same time recognising the stress that both patient and family go through.

My mother, aged 98, was admitted from hospital with respiratory failure which was not reversible. She spent her last days at Stone House. It was wonderful for us all to know that she was safe in a beautiful room with all the equipment she needed, kindly nursed with dignity and respect. When she passed away, everyone was so kind. We are so grateful, as we all felt looked after and what could have been hugely distressing became a kind family experience.

All Stone House staff from gardeners and kitchen staff to nurses and carers provide exceptional loving care to their residents. Each resident is treated as an individual and their needs and foibles attend to whenever possible.

Stone House may bot have the most modern facilities but it is kept exceptionally clean. The quantity and quality of outside entertainers are also good.

I moved my mother from her home to Stone House Nursing Home last October 2019.
I chose this home primarily because of the warm welcome I received from everyone when viewing and the homely feel. The staff/carers are extremely welcoming and make a point of keeping every resident comfortable whilst retaining their dignity at all times. There are activities to keep residents stimulated and visits from outside entertainers. There are also outings in a special minibus for those who wish to participate.
My mother has settled in well and has improved since her stay. The staff are all very patient and caring, providing help for relatives as well as the residents. They have an open-door policy so relatives can visit at any time. All rooms are clean and bright with beautiful views of the well-kept gardens.

I highly recommend this nursing home!!

My Mum has been at Stone House for a year. My sister and I have been able to relax since she arrived knowing that we can trust the staff to look after her, whatever occurs. Mum has dementia and although we’d dreaded moving her out of her own home, she’s been happier at Stone House than we’d imagined possible. She spends her day in the lounge with things going on around her which keep her from being bored. She has her hair done and her nails painted which helps her feel special. She joins in activities and has been on an excursion giving her a change of scene. Whatever she’s doing we know there are enough professional people around her to deal with every eventuality. She’s had some minor health issues recently and we’ve been kept informed of each setback and kept up-to-date with steps taken to help her and keep her comfortable. At her care review, we were asked what we’d change to improve things and we were unable to make a single suggestion because Mum’s every need is being met.

My mother-in-law lived at Stone House for almost a year. She was treated with dignity and respect until she passed away. She had dementia but the care home had lots of activities and music which she seemed to enjoy. Her face always lit up when the singers came to entertain and she loved to dance.

It's a really homely place with kind and friendly staff.

I can't praise Stone House Nursing Home highly enough. Being small the residents care staff ratio is good. Not only is the nursing excellent but there are a variety of activities designed to stimulate residents either in the lounges or individual rooms. The food is good, the decor and grounds well maintained and although the staff are busy they always have time to talk to relatives and to act upon requests as soon as possible.

My elderly mother was loved and cared for at Stone House for the last 18 months of her life. I wouldn't have wished for her to have been anywhere else.

This care home is amazing. It is run by the manager and the most caring staff, many of whom have been with the company for years. The care they give their residents is second to none and the home provides them with lots of entertainment and you can see the residents enjoying these events. The meals they provide are all prepared fresh every day by the resident chef. The atmosphere when you visit the home is also something, welcoming and lots of laughter all around.

A super home and I can thoroughly recommend it.

My mother has been at Stone House since May 2017, following a fall at her home resulting in a hospital stay. She has been diagnosed with dementia but is fairly mobile but has poor sight. Stone House has been able to manage these issues extremely well and kept us (her daughters) informed at every level with her continuing care plan. They also supported us.

My stepmother could not be in better hands. She's not capable of looking after herself following a major stroke in the New Year, yet she is lively and demanding. The staff at Stone House are very good with her. There seems to be a never-ending stream of attention being paid to her which is how she likes it. hair do's, nailcare, Pilates (!). Always such a lot going on. Perfect for her and infinitely preferable from every point of view to coming home and being lonely and vulnerable. All of her friends and family are now convinced Stone House is perfect for her.

Stone House are looking after our mother very well. She is treated with dignity and my sister and I have no worries about leaving her.
Nothing is too much trouble for them and we feel we too are listened to.

When Mum has had a few health problems, e.g. gallstones and eye problems, the home has acted promptly with getting a doctor and kept us informed as soon as possible.

From the moment I arrived with my mother the quality of the care was evident. I knew from that moment on my sister and I had chosen a truly wonderful place for our mother. Even after settling her in the superb care continued. The staff are extremely passionate about their care for patients and this continued. I'm just so glad we chose Stone House.

From meeting the staff for a tour, I had a very good feeling. My mum was treated with the utmost care and attention by all there and I could finally relax knowing she was being well looked after. As a relative, I was well informed and felt very welcome too. I cannot rate them high enough.

I only wish my mum lived longer to appreciate her surroundings and care.
