Ashby House is a purpose-built, single-storey building on attractive gardens. They're located in a quiet area of Milton Keynes, yet close to the city centre.

The home provides first-class 24-hour nursing care and residential care, alongside expert care for people with dementia and younger onset dementia in a Memory Lane Community. A team of highly-qualified and attentive staff really focuses on the individual needs of residents with a tailored care plan for each person.

Activities Co-ordinators are working with Help the Aged to plan fun and interesting activities for residents with a range of equipment.

Dad transferred her from another care home last November. I was initially very concerned about him leaving his other care home. I needn't have worried, Dad is treated with such kindness, respect and dignity here at Barchester Ashby House Care Home. He is extremely settled and happy here and the staff
cannot do enough for him. He enjoys the food choices, activities and likes his room (when he can find it!) It is such peace of mind for me to see him contented and making new connections with staff and other residents.

My mum's stay at Ashby House for respite care has been a welcomed and needed time for recovery and rest. The staff have been efficient, helpful, well organised and friendly. Thank you for all you have done for my mum. She did enjoy her stay.

My husband has been in Barchester Ashby House Care Home for a year now. He has been very well looked after by the lovely staff who are always extremely helpful and pleasant, this includes carers, cleaners, reception, office and activities organisers, also nurses and management.
I feel this was the
best care home in my area and we did visit a few before making a decision.

My husband came into Barchester Ashby House Care Home end of October 2018, he was transferred from another home. He came on six weeks end of life care, he is still with us. He is well looked after always kept clean and he is well fed. The staff are always there if needed and very helpful. My husband
spends time asleep very rarely out of bed. Overall he is well looked after I could not ask for more.

I would like to thank all the staff at Barchester Ashby House Care Home for the fantastic care and support they gave to my nan and my family when she stayed with you following her operation. My nan was very poorly, but she kept saying how kind and lovely all the staff were and they looked after her
until she felt strong enough to come home. We chose Ashby House because my mother-in-law stayed there a couple of years ago, and my nan
is so happy they had space when we needed them in an emergency. Nan will definitely choose to stay again.
The homemade cakes and biscuits are unmatched!

It is dramatic for both resident and partner. A total upheaval. You have to rely on the carers doing what they are supposed to. Forms are filled in, but do they truly represent what is happening. The residents are bored out of their minds - there is not enough interaction with the residents. The residents
are the most important part of daily life, not the forms. Care is good but there needs to be more individual attention. 'Alright dear' is not enough. I visit every day but what about all the other people. Without the residents there is no care home and no job for you. One day we will all get there.

Our sincere thanks to the wonderful staff at Ashby House. I am so pleased that we were able to get Mum into this home.
Whilst the care staff are exceptionally busy, Mum was treated with kindness, care and dignity.
The nursing staff worked collaboratively with our family to keep Mum pain-free and
gave us clear information and advice. In Mum's final days, they gave Mum and our family exceptional care. They kept us fully informed on what was happening and the likely outcomes.
Yesterday, when Mum passed away, they made sure our family had the time needed to say goodbye to Mum and handled the official duties of death efficiently and with the deepest compassion.
The home is very clean. The service user's rooms are well cared for. Food is plentiful. The lounge areas are beautifully decorated. There are activities for those who can participate. Mum enjoyed the coronation meal.
Thank you seems inadequate somehow, but it is genuinely and sincerely given.

Ashby House Care Home, our experience with having our mum here was excellent. The staff is very friendly and caring, this was her home away from home and it was a pleasure having her here. We could always come in and see that she was cared for and happy to be here. She always said she was well fed,

Nursing care. My mother-in-law chose the care home in July 2021. On her visit, she thought the home "was superb". Soon after her admission, the problems started to show, e.g. no hot water since July 21 (she gets washed with cold water to date). Her call bell is continuously out of her reach and staff
have "no idea why" (so how is one supposed to call for help?). The table with her drink is left out of her reach, leaving her dehydrated, shouting her lungs off to attract the attention of staff. Unexplained bruising, property damage, etc. Yet, we're being assured by the manager and regional director that the call bell is "always left within her reach" and staff is "trained".


Despite concerns raised with the staff, management and authorities, there was no improvement in care.


I can't see how anybody can leave a 5-star review for a care home with no running hot water for personal care and staff that admits they "don't have the time" for the resident. At the moment it's dangerous and unsafe. I'd give 0* if available.

My mother has been a resident at Ashby House Care Home for over a year now, and has always been so very well cared for and loved by all of the staff. Her wishes have always been taken into account. I am regularly contacted about everything that happens in the home and they keep me informed about her
wellbeing. Although I cannot visit often staff help me to maintain contacts with mum via skype, which I am so grateful for. Every time I was able to speak to her she was happy and spoke positively about the staff and the activities she'd taken part in, never forgetting to mention delicious cakes which the kitchen bakes. Thank you very much for everything you do.

Mum was admitted to Ashby House after being diagnosed with a terminal illness and we were no longer able to care for her at home. I can honestly say this care home is outstanding. She receives excellent care. The staff work as a team and do everything they can to support my mum. Management is excellent,
very approachable and communicates all the important information on the day. I spoke to my sister who confirmed that we as a family could not find a better place for our mum. Thank you so much!

I am extremely happy with the care that my mother is receiving at Ashby House. The care staff and managers are all so wonderful, caring and compassionate. Whenever I contact Ashby House, staff have always time for me and always assist as best they can, but most importantly mum feels very happy at Ashby

All staff at Ashby House are really amazing! Very friendly and supportive.
I feel my relative is well cared for, and that is a huge relief to know that she is happy. Had a lovely visit recently in the room with her and it was so lovely to see each other after a long time break due to covid-19. It

Hello, I'm Diana, and I am a Senior Registered Nurse at Ashby House. I am responsible for the Day Care Team on my nursing unit.


I graduated from my nursing career in 1998 in Romania as a General Nurse, then moved to the UK in 2003 and have worked in care homes since then.


In 2011, I graduated with NVQ Level 4 in Leadership & Management and further developed my skills in 2013 when I received certification for End-of-Life Care.


I started working as a Senior Registered Nurse at Ashby House Care Home in 2017. I am very passionate about my work and love to look after the residents and relatives that come to our home, and I like to be supportive of all my work colleagues.

Hello, my name is Victory, I am a qualified nurse, and I am passionate about providing quality care at excellent standards for residents. I have been working for Barchester Healthcare since June 2022.


The team at Ashby is one of the best I have worked with, and I am grateful for the love and support I receive from the management and colleagues in my job role.


Before June 2022, I worked as a nurse in my home country for some years, serving as a registered nurse, registered midwife, and West African licensed public health nurse. I hold a bachelor's degree in nursing, and my passion for learning drives me to continually update my knowledge and research.


I have a passion and a call to care for the elderly, and I feel fulfilled doing my job. I am committed to delivering person-centred care for each resident and reassuring their relatives. It is also a pleasure supporting my colleagues and using my strengths to enhance the lives of all we care for.

Hello, I am Lorna and I am a Registered Nurse here at Ashby House.


The main part of my job is leading on the clinical aspects of Residents care, ensuring records are kept up to date, medication management and working closely with Management and the local health care professionals to ensure continuity of care.


I love my work as a Nurse at Ashby House. I enjoy speaking with residents and helping them to feel as well as they can. I feel proud to be part of this team where everyone plays their part in making everyday life enjoyable for residents.

Hello, I'm Carol and I joined the Ashby House team in 2004 as a Housekeeping Assistant.


It is really important that I keep the home clean to keep it looking nice and minimise infection risks. It is also important that Ashby House is tidy, attractive and well organised so residents feel comfortable and relaxed.


I get to know every resident, to understand how they like their room, their clothes and their personal belongings to be arranged. I enjoy my morning chats, getting to know residents as I clean their rooms.
