Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review about Ashby House Care Home. The team work tirelessly every single day and it is wonderful to read that this is noticed across the entire team - I will be sure to pass on your supportive comments.
I find all the staff very friendly and if my dad is unwell, they contact me.
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with a review and I have shared your lovely comments with the staff. If you have any further feedback regarding other categories within the review, please do feel free to speak to me. Thank you again for this review.
My wife was agitated and distressed prior to admission and the staff turned that around incredibly quickly. By the time of my first visit, she was calmer than she had been in months, content and actually eating again. I have nothing but praise for the staff, they are patient and kind and seem very fond of my wife. She feels safe and mostly calm again. My only criticism so far is that recently when I picked her up to take her for a hospital appointment she didn't have the right incontinence pads on so an accident in the car proved to be very messy.
Thank you so much for taking time to provide us with feedback and I am so pleased your wife settled with us very quickly. I have shared your comments with the team and will also review the incidents you have raised, please accept my apologies for this and this will be addressed. Thank you again for the feedback.
When we visited her she was so happy and talkative. It was so good to see her, when she was at home was not as happy as here. She asked me about my family.

Dad transferred her from another care home last November. I was initially very concerned about him leaving his other care home. I needn't have worried, Dad is treated with such kindness, respect and dignity here at Barchester Ashby House Care Home. He is extremely settled and happy here and the staff cannot do enough for him. He enjoys the food choices, activities and likes his room (when he can find it!) It is such peace of mind for me to see him contented and making new connections with staff and other residents.

My husband came into Barchester Ashby House Care Home end of October 2018, he was transferred from another home. He came on six weeks end of life care, he is still with us. He is well looked after always kept clean and he is well fed. The staff are always there if needed and very helpful. My husband spends time asleep very rarely out of bed. Overall he is well looked after I could not ask for more.

It is dramatic for both resident and partner. A total upheaval. You have to rely on the carers doing what they are supposed to. Forms are filled in, but do they truly represent what is happening. The residents are bored out of their minds - there is not enough interaction with the residents. The residents are the most important part of daily life, not the forms. Care is good but there needs to be more individual attention. 'Alright dear' is not enough. I visit every day but what about all the other people. Without the residents there is no care home and no job for you. One day we will all get there.
Thank you for taking the time to add a review following your recent experience at Ashby House. We understand you have recently met with the General Manager in regards to the comments in your review and we do hope this has reassured you that your partner thoroughly enjoyed their stay, partaking in...
Whilst the care staff are exceptionally busy, Mum was treated with kindness, care and dignity.
The nursing staff worked collaboratively with our family to keep Mum pain-free and gave us clear information and advice. In Mum's final days, they gave Mum and our family exceptional care. They kept us fully informed on what was happening and the likely outcomes.
Yesterday, when Mum passed away, they made sure our family had the time needed to say goodbye to Mum and handled the official duties of death efficiently and with the deepest compassion.
The home is very clean. The service user's rooms are well cared for. Food is plentiful. The lounge areas are beautifully decorated. There are activities for those who can participate. Mum enjoyed the coronation meal.
Thank you seems inadequate somehow, but it is genuinely and sincerely given.

Ashby House Care Home, our experience with having our mum here was excellent. The staff is very friendly and caring, this was her home away from home and it was a pleasure having her here. We could always come in and see that she was cared for and happy to be here. She always said she was well fed, she was well looked after until the very end. The staff and manager have been very supportive, we feel like we are a part of the Barchester family. Well done, thanks a lot. Excellent.

I moved to England from Poland in 2017 to pursue my higher education and qualified as a Registered General Nurse, completing my Master’s Degree at Coventry University. Since then, I have built my career first as a Registered Nurse, then stepping into the Deputy Manager role. In November 2023, I was promoted to Operations Manager, supporting care services across the country, and I also completed my NVQ Level 5 in Care Management.
I am passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and creating a warm, supportive environment where our residents feel safe, valued, and truly at home.

Hello, my name is Carole, and I am the Administration Assistant here at Ashby House.
I joined the team in 2022, and I am the first person you will see when you walk into the home – you will always receive a warm and friendly welcome!
I support the front of house team in everyday admin tasks, reception duties, meeting and greeting family members, visitors, and professionals as they enter the building.
Outside of work, I enjoy socialising with my Husband, family and friends, dog walking, I am a keen gardener, and when time allows, I enjoy hopping on my bike, having previously completed a Coast to Coast charity bike ride.
I enjoy being part of the wonderful staff team at Ashby House and look forward to meeting you all when you visit.

I graduated from my nursing career in 1998 in Romania as a General Nurse, then moved to the UK in 2003 and have worked in care homes since then.
In 2011, I graduated with NVQ Level 4 in Leadership & Management and further developed my skills in 2013 when I received certification for End-of-Life Care.
I started working as a Senior Registered Nurse at Ashby House Care Home in 2017. I am very passionate about my work and love to look after the residents and relatives that come to our home, and I like to be supportive of all my work colleagues.
When I am away from work, I love to travel and spend time with family and friends.

Hello, my name is Victory, I am a qualified nurse, and I am passionate about providing quality care at excellent standards for residents. I have been working for Barchester Healthcare since June 2022.
The team at Ashby is one of the best I have worked with, and I am grateful for the love and support I receive from the management and colleagues in my job role.
Before June 2022, I worked as a nurse in my home country for some years, serving as a registered nurse, registered midwife, and West African licensed public health nurse. I hold a bachelor's degree in nursing, and my passion for learning drives me to continually update my knowledge and research.
I have a passion and a call to care for the elderly, and I feel fulfilled doing my job. I am committed to delivering person-centred care for each resident and reassuring their relatives. It is also a pleasure supporting my colleagues and using my strengths to enhance the lives of all we care for.

Hello, I'm Carol and I joined the Ashby House team in 2004 as a Housekeeping Assistant.
It is really important that I keep the home clean to keep it looking nice and minimise infection risks. It is also important that Ashby House is tidy, attractive and well organised so residents feel comfortable and relaxed.
I get to know every resident, to understand how they like their room, their clothes and their personal belongings to be arranged. I enjoy my morning chats, getting to know residents as I clean their rooms.

Starting in Medical Records at Milton Keynes University Hospital, and also becoming a Medical Secretary to a group of Consultants within a set discipline, also at MKUH.
Worked at The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, London, during the pandemic. In January 2022 joined my first Care Home as a Home Administrator, and stayed there until September 2025, when I made the move to Barchester.
