Overall Experience
When I was told my Sister would need full-time nursing care I was very anxious to do the best for her .
After viewing several care homes we went to Leonard Lodge and immediately felt a sense of relief.
The front of house is welcoming and the staff are very understanding and helpful with their advice .
My sister became a resident, and straight away I could see the nursing staff , hostesses, and all other staff dealing with my sister's care were 1st class.
We would visit at least once a day at various times and my sister always looked comfortable and well cared for and on a good few occasions there would be a member of staff sitting chatting with her.
The nursing staff would brief us on her mood , health , etc and were always very professional and caring.
She was always treated with kindness , care and dignity, and would often tell us how lovely the ( Girls) staff were.

We are truly thankful to all the staff at Leonard Lodge, and I would find it very difficult to find a negative comment .

My mother received excellent care here, she was well looked after. The care team and the nurses were all extremely caring and put my mothers best interests first. I couldn't have asked for better people taking care of my mother. I feel my mother was in the best place at this stage of her illness. I am so grateful to the manager for all the help he gave me, enabling my mother to go to Leonard Lodge.

My father was admitted on Saturday the 2nd of July. We were very impressed with the understanding, compassion and help the staff offered. From carers to management they have guided us and our dad from the beginning. His room is sufficient in size and clean and bright. Even though he is limited with what he can do - he has help which is always pleasant and he says everyone who comes to him is always kind and cheerful. Truly a lovely place to be for him which is very reassuring for our family. Many thanks Leonard Lodge.

My father-in-law was accepted to be placed in Leonard Lodge ... but unfortunately dad had taken a turn or the worse having had a heart attack. The manager of the said care home was so understanding and held dads room for him, as it seemed that dad was making an improvement. On viewing the home, it was clean, the staff seemed very caring. The residents all looked very happy and satisfied. I went to the home on three occasions and each time I felt the same atmosphere ... I really was hoping dad could have seen his day there, however, he is poorly and is about to go to a hospice. I would like to say thank you to the manager and his staff for the compassion shown to us. I would recommend Leonard Lodge, however, am unable to mark other categories.

When my mother first entered Leonard Lodge in May 2012. My sister and I chose it because of the activities/entertainment provided and the lack of bad smells on entering the building. All of this has deteriorated over the last months. But over the last two months or so, since the new manager was appointed the cleanliness and extra staff required has improved. There is still areas that need improving such as staff members and more activities but overall the care has much improved. My mother seems happy and cared for.

Since my aunt has been at Leonard Lodge she has greatly improved, happy and settled. My aunt's carers are great, always smiling no matter what and work exceptionally hard under challenging conditions, always aware if auntie is having a bad day. The management are equally as good, always willing to make time to help and answer questions. Overall I would be mortified if I had to move my aunt at any time.

I started working at Leonard Lodge in 2001 and this year will receive my 20-year Long Service Award. I commenced as a registered nurse and moved into the Unit Managers position in January 2002.

As well as being an RGN I am also a qualified Mental Health Nurse. My keen interest in dementia care means that I work very closely with relatives and health care professionals to ensure that we are providing the very best personalised care for each of our residents.

My name is Lynn and I lead the Activities Team here at Leonard Lodge.

Since working at Leonard Lodge I have dedicated myself to ensuring that each of our residents can continue to partake in the hobbies that they have enjoyed for years. It is important that all of the residents here have access to life enriching, fun and social activities.

The whole home supports my team and I to organise activities, events and entertainment tailored to every residents preferences, abilities and needs. Each year we have a fantastically full calendar, and we look forward to the future when we can invite the families of residents to join us in the home again.

I am married with two children and two rather annoying rescue cats. I lived in Italy for a number of years and love all Italian food, especially when somebody else cooks it for me! I love to read, especially crime novels. I am a regular theatre goer with a passion for musicals. I like to sing and dance (albeit badly!).

I have worked in the care sector as a Nursing Home Administrator for the past ten years. I very much enjoy working in an environment where we can make a difference - each and every one of us - to our resident's daily life.

I worked in London for the first six years of my career as a Records Clerk with the British Medical Association. I was fortunate enough to meet Prince Charles who was our Honorary President, at a Grand Ball held in his honour. I then progressed to being the Records Officer at Gray’s Inn.

I now have a lovely granddaughter, who takes up a lot of my spare time and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Hi, I am Corina, the General Manager at Leonard Lodge.

I have 10 years of leadership experience gained from nursing, residential, and dementia care services in the UK. I have a strong track record of improving care homes, achieving positive CQC outcomes, and leading multi-site operations across Essex and London.

Throughout my career, I have developed expertise in regulatory compliance, safeguarding, clinical governance, and operational management. With a background as a Registered Nurse and senior care leader, I am passionate about person-centred care, staff development, and continuous improvement.

I strongly believe that people should be cared for holistically, taking into account what makes them who they are as individuals. Building meaningful relationships with residents, staff, relatives, and external stakeholders is extremely important to me, as I believe working in partnership is essential to delivering the best possible outcomes for everyone involved in the home. I also see myself as a strong advocate for residents, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care, particularly those who are unable to communicate their needs or those living with dementia. I take pride in supporting and empowering others to be the best they can be within their roles, creating positive and high-performing teams.
