My mother was 96 years old when joining Leonard Lodge. She had been discharged from hospital after pneumonia and had a dependency on oxygen. She was in very poor health when she arrived but the the team at Leonard Lodge managed to nurse Mum to a great recovery and she now no longer needs oxygen and has a much better quality of life. in addition, the team have been in attendance to see mum through a recent bout of sickness.
The staff are so important in a care home and every one has been so supportive and kind to mum. Anna on the front desk, Sheree and Damian on the management team, the senior nurses June and Irish, Joe and Sebastian - just to name a few out of so many.

Mum is moving out of Leonard Lodge now solely to move to another home that is closer to the family. We have so much to be thankful for all that Leonard Lodge have done.

Dad recieves excellent care and I always have peace of mind that he is being well-looked after at Leonard Lodge. The carers work very hard to ensure that he's comfortable, safe and happy and are prepared to feed him, however long it takes, on days when he can't manage it himself. The staff in all departments work extremely hard and are very friendly and caring. There are many activities arranged for the residents to bring happiness and enrichment. Thank you to everyone.

My Mother is very happy and comfortable in the nursing home, she is dealt with dignity by all the staff, staff are all very friendly to residents and visitors. The staff also pop in to check on my Mum, even when she has not asked for them and wave to her as they pass her room, as she is bedbound, it makes her feel not forgotten.

The new decor and carpets make the place look very welcoming and make the place look smart.

Amazing care.
I never wanted mum to go into a home but since being here she is actually happy again .
I honestly can relax and know she is well taken care of.
Staff really care and get to know the residents.
The lady's who run the entertainment side .

Completely throw themselves into their role, they know all residents likes and dislikes but more than that they include every resident.

I first viewed Leonard's Lodge on an open day and was very impressed with the show round. I have been a carer for my brother for 2years but there had been a rapid decline in his health, diagnosed with dementia February 2024, I was advised by his GP to try respite care. I was offered a room at Leonard Lodge for 4 weeks which was successful so the decision was made to make the arrangement permanent commencing 15th May. I have experienced nothing but kindness from all the staff making the transition a smooth one. My brother is enjoying his new home, he is well catered for and safe.

My eldest Sister 78 who sadly has dementia came into Leonard Lodge on January the 17th 2025 initially for 4 weeks respite care . She is now a permanent resident and has now been in there care for 10 weeks. I cannot praise Leonard Lodge enough. All the staff , management team , facilities , rooms , entertainment & activities ,decor , furniture are superb Top Class . My Sister is a different person after just a short time in residence and is now very happy and contented in her new home. It is a big decision to put your loved one into full time care but would recommend Leonard Lodge in Brentwood to anyone on that journey. My wife and are who are my Sisters full POA for both catagories live 10 minutes away from Leonard Lodge and we sleep easy at night knowing my Sister is getting top class care 24/7 . The staff keep you fully informed if there are any concerns and they deal with things very efficiently . I understand a high tech spa pool is currently being added to improve the facilities

We had to put Dad into respite at very short notice and Leonard Lodge Care Home came to the family rescue.
All the staff on Memory Lane have made Dad feel very welcome, he settled into the home really quickly,
this was helped by the carers and staff being so friendly but very professional in the way they go about looking after him and all the residents, not to mention family members of the residents.

I cannot say a bad word about anything to do with Leonard Lodge, we are all very happy.

My husband is extremely physically disabled and has vascular dementia. He's been a resident in Barchester Leonard Lodge Care Home for thirteen months where he's received efficient, kind and compassionate care from all the staff. The carers and nurses are friendly and approachable if I have any queries or concerns. Always supportive. My husband can join in very few activities but when he's able he's encouraged by the excellent team of activity ladies. He appears content, enjoys the companionship of the staff and eats well - never complains! This all gives me peace of mind. Thank you.

My mother has been at Barchester Leonard Lodge Care Home in the nursing care section for two years. During that time, she has been well looked after and is very fond of many of the staff. When our family visit, we are always welcomed and enjoy a friendly chat with her carers. We feel if there are any concerns we can raise these with the nursing team or management.
There are organised activities that she likes to participate in and now and again she has enjoyed outings in the minibus.

Mum says she enjoys the food (it always looks good). She likes to be helped to the garden when the weather is nice. It's a lovely, peaceful area where she can enjoy the flowers, birds and fresh air with other residents she has become friends with. If the weather is bad there are areas within the home she can enjoy outside of her own room.

My husband was admitted to Leonard Lodge a month ago and so far I have been very impressed with the care he is given. He is always clean and well-groomed. The staff are kind and willing to listen to any concerns. Nothing is too much trouble for them. He settled down surprisingly quickly and his mental state has actually improved. The activities team work hard to provide a variety of events throughout the week and encourage relatives to participate. This keeps the residents stimulated. In addition, they provide occasional outings in the minibus to suitable venues.

I am very impressed with the care and efficiency of all the staff, good communication over Mum's care and support with any concerns.
The manager is polite and has a passion for dementia which requires specialist understanding of a very complex and upsetting illness.
The office staff have been helpful and I have felt my concerns have been listened to and actioned.
The chef did Mum a lovely tea for her 95th and I know she was touched by this.

The activities are varied and Mum has been encouraged to join in, although she cannot remember, she obviously has a good rapport with staff.

After careful research including talking to management, friends and relations of previous residents and visiting, we moved my wife into Memory Lane. I have found that the management team through all the nurses, carers, entertainers and all the other support staff that look after the residents and their needs are working to a very high standard. I cannot praise them high enough for the high standards they attain and the level of care and friendliness they give to all including friends and relations of residents. Very well done and keep up the excellent work.

I brought my cousin to Leonard Lodge Care Home from her home in another area, where I had arranged for her daily care for four years after she had been deemed to have lost capacity.
I chose Leonard Lodge Care Home because my aunt had at one time been cared for on the first floor of the home, and I had seen first-hand the care that was given. Another key reason for my decision was the proximity of the home to my own place of residence.
I find the staff who work on Memory Lane at Leonard Lodge to be very kind and helpful to residents, and their general care of them and the preparation of clients for their day to be exceptionally good.

My cousin’s happiness is of paramount importance to me. I know from asking her about her life at Leonard Lodge that she is comfortable staying at The Lodge. I can also see from my own visits that she has happily settled on Memory Lane.

Overall, I would recommend this care home. The staff are approachable, helpful and friendly, and I feel that my mother is in a safe place and being well cared for. Relatives and friends are able to visit at any time, which has definitely helped my mother to settle into a different way of life and means that she still feels connected with her family. As a team, I would say that the staff work well together and try their very best to accommodate the individual needs of the residents.
