The care staff are very caring to my husband also to me. They are looking after my husband very well, and nothing is too much trouble. Staff are very friendly and caring.
The management is excellent, and I have never been worried to leave my husband at Leonard Lodge.
Leonard Lodge has been recommended
to us, and I am very happy with the decision made.

With my uncle being ready for discharge from the hospital on Sunday, the manager, deputy and administrators at Leonard Lodge all worked tirelessly to facilities his safe admission. At 97-years-old, he was no longer safe at home with four care package visits per day, and we as a family, have peace of
mind he is safe and well cared for. My uncle has settled in well and like his clean, comfortable surroundings and is very much enjoying home-cooked food. It has only been one week, but he has settled in and loved by all the staff. Thank you for making a hard time easier.

The staff have always been excellent. Mum is settled and happy she has settled well. The home and staff male you feel welcome which enables a good atmosphere. Mum always looks well cared for and dressed appropriately. They have a good understanding of her needs and her little ways.

My mother was a resident from August 2018 to July 2020 when she died of old aged at 98. From the day she arrived, she and all the family were treated with care, respect, and the staff always remained willing to help with anything required. The Leonard Lodge team have all been amazing looking after Dad. Their professionalism, kindness and caring have been outstanding especially at this unprecedented time. After trying other care homes we were lucky enough to find Leonard Lodge. The staff cannot do enough for their residents. From the cleaners right up to the general manager. My mother started to look forward to life again and has started to eat properly from their restaurant-quality menu. Standards of

My mother was made to feel extremely welcome, as we all were on arrival and throughout her whole stay. She says she has a wonderful time, the staff were very kind to her and she made many friends. Very well run home with excellent management and staff.
Mum stayed for respite with a view to stay for long term. Mum was very happy with the way she was treated but felt her room was too small.
Mum has mild dementia but is very mobile, she was always worried about not finding her way and getting
lost. Perhaps some signs for lounges and restaurant from the ceiling. Also door numbers very small for old people with bad eyes.

My godfather is now a “permanent” resident, over time, age is catching up on him. The staff never allow this to frustrate them in making sure he remains mobile and well-nourished. His safety and comfort are at the front of their minds at all times. They never fail to notify immediately of any incident
he is involved in ie fall etc and I am constantly reassured re his present condition. Three years ago he trusted me with his care and I am satisfied that in Leonard Lodge he is being provided with the high level of care he desires.

My mother needed to go into a care home at relatively short notice. Having visited eight possible home we (my wife, father and I) decided that Leonard Lodge offered the highest level of personalised care and we feel that our decision has been vindicated by the treatment that my mother has received.

The professionalism of all the nursing personnel is exemplary, as well as the housekeepers. Their kindness and prompt attention to anyone is as prompt as patient. Food and entertainment are first class for all. There are no restrictions on visiting hours. Medical attention is prompt and if necessary,
people are taken to hospital.
The atmosphere is warm and friendly, from the general manager through all the nursing staff and cleaners. When the time comes I too would move to Leonard Lodge.

Hello, my name is Emma, and I am the Deputy Clinical Manager and Wellbeing Champion here at Leonard Lodge.


I am a qualified mental health nurse and joined Barchester following a 15 year career in the NHS, where I worked both inpatient and in the community. I have always worked with older adults, specialising in the care of people with dementia and frailty from diagnosis to end of life.


I am passionate about the delivery of high-quality, holistic and inclusive care to residents and the support of their caregivers. I have extensive experience in integrated teamwork, completing assessments, risk management, and problem-solving. I have provided dementia and frailty training to a wide range of professionals, including the acute trust and social care. I aim to incorporate learning at every opportunity to empower staff to gain the knowledge, understanding and the confidence to fulfil their potential.

I started working at Leonard Lodge in 2001 and this year will receive my 20-year Long Service Award. I commenced as a registered nurse and moved into the Unit Managers position in January 2002.


As well as being an RGN I am also a qualified Mental Health Nurse. My keen interest in dementia care means that I work very closely with relatives and health care professionals to ensure that we are providing the very best personalised care for each of our residents.

Since working at Leonard Lodge I have dedicated myself to ensuring that each of our residents can continue to partake in the hobbies that they have enjoyed for years. It is important that all of the residents here have access to life enriching, fun and social activities.


The whole home supports my team and I to organise activities, events and entertainment tailored to every residents preferences, abilities and needs. Each year we have a fantastically full calendar, and we look forward to the future when we can invite the families of residents to join us in the home again.


I am married with two children and two rather annoying rescue cats. I lived in Italy for a number of years and love all Italian food, especially when somebody else cooks it for me! I love to read, especially crime novels. I am a regular theatre goer with a passion for musicals. I like to sing and dance (albeit badly!).

I worked in London for the first six years of my career as a Records Clerk with the British Medical Association. I was fortunate enough to meet Prince Charles who was our Honorary President, at a Grand Ball held in his honour. I then progressed to being the Records Officer at Gray’s Inn.


I now have a lovely granddaughter, who takes up a lot of my spare time and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Hello, My name is Allison, my mum is a resident here and I decided to become a volunteer so I could spend time with Mum whilst also supporting our residents.


I have have been busy working with the home to ensure the residents can live their best life, I have been instrumental in setting up a Leonard Lodge coffee morning which takes place every Thursday at 10 am. The coffee morning is free to attend and everyone is welcome. There is always free tea, coffee and cakes.
