We are grateful for the end-of-life care Mum received. Staff were accommodating with Mum's needs, caring and friendly. Mum was unable to utilise the facilities as she was bedbound but Mum was made comfortable, pain-free and encouraged and assisted with food/drinks. As frequent visitors, we witnessed card and board games between residents/visitors and gatherings of people in the garden - it was nice, summery weather. Everyone we encountered, staff, residents and visitors, seemed to be happy. Barchester Leonard Lodge Care Home is a happy place. Well done all.

My mum has been at Leonard Lodge for the past nine months. The care and respect shown to both Mum and myself have been fantastic given my mum's previous experience in her former "home", which I would not prefix with the very important word "care". Mum is made very comfortable and recognises all the staff, with whom she responds positively. I could not wish for better peace of mind for her, and it is a great comfort to the family.

I could not ask or be happier for the care my mum receives at Barchester Leonard Lodge Care Home. All the staff, from the management to the laundry, are attentive and caring to every one of my mum's needs. They look after her so well and treat her with the caring dignity she deserves.

Would I recommend this service provider to anyone else? Yes, 200%!

I am extremely happy to visit my brother in this lovely home. Without exception, all the carers treat my brother and every other resident with kindness and respect. This allows all to regain their dignity, something so important to elderly people especially. They have lost their independence through age or infirmity after a lifetime of achievement and fruitful life. There are plenty of opportunities to engage with other residents during the weekly activity programme. In his own words, my brother says he feels safe here.

I have been a volunteer with the activities department at Leonard Lodge Care Home for two years so I have seen first-hand how well they care for and support the residents and their families day in and day out. The home is very comfortable and homely and it has a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff work tirelessly to provide a positive experience for all the residents and it’s a privilege to be a part of such a dedicated community of caregivers.

My husband became a resident at Leonard Lodge in January 2020. When the manager left and Covid came then everything changed. In June 2020 I was told my husband was at end of life, but he is still with us! He is never out of bed and does not eat and it is heartbreaking to see, that he has no life he only exists. I appreciate the last years have been difficult for everybody but fees have changed and I don't get value for money, he is not shaved regularly, hair is not washed or trimmed. I realise staff is a problem and they do their best. Perhaps if management paid themselves less and staff more recruitment might be easier.

Every time I have visited my brother at Leonard Lodge I have found the staff and facilities very helpful. Extremely clean rooms and seating areas. It has given myself and my family great peace of mind to know that he receives twenty-four hours of cover every day. May I say since coming to Leonard Lodge he has gained weight and eats all food provided.

Mum has been in the care home for two and a quarter years and at all times I have found management/carers and all staff to be mindful of the dignity, privacy and care of all people in their care. Covid has not made life easy and staff have gone the extra mile to keep me in touch with mum's health and well-being at all times. She had covid and survived it and is putting on weight but her legs are failing her now but she is ok in herself, happy and content.

My uncle is so happy since he settled into Leonard Lodge. I know because I always ask him if he’s happy and he tells me he loves his room, the garden, he loves the food and he loves the staff, he says what more could he want. He is 97 and as a family it was the best decision we made knowing in his last years he is in the best place he could be, getting the best care. What more could you want for a world war veteran!

Leonard Lodge has been amazing with my Mum. She took a little time to settle but the staff were fantastic encouraging and helping her. Mum has now been there two years and is happy and always enjoyed getting her hair done. The staff have made sure that the routines and care continued during covid even though she could not get her hair done her nails were painted as she loved that too. Her hair has been done again by the visiting hairdresser this week and the staff sent me a photo of my Mum with her new hairstyle. She looks so happy. I really appreciate all the staff at Leonard Lodge. They get to know the families and take an interest in the family member. I am so grateful for the care and kindness of this Nursing care home from nursing staff and administrative staff. Thank you to them all.

In very challenging circumstances and times (Dad being very poorly and Covid restrictions) the staff were very supportive and welcoming. Dad entered the home in January and we were unable to visit. However, the staff were very good at keeping us informed of Dad's progress, always making time to update us during many calls. Since visiting has started I have been able to see all the facilities and care. Very good.
