I was able to visit my partner in Tall Trees in person today; we could hold hands and had a cuddle, I had not been able to see him since last October when he was moved from a brain injury hospital.
He looked so well, had not forgotten me and was very jolly, and happy as you can imagine, I could see
he had been very well looked after; the staff are amazing, their care is incredible.
Thank you all at Tall Trees for being so kind.

From my first meeting with the manager and staff at Tall Trees, I have been very impressed with the care and support provided to my great aunt, who has advanced dementia. She has a fantastic, spacious room with a great view of the garden, and the arrangements made for her transfer from her previous
setting and to settle her in were superb.
Contact from the staff is great, with regular phone calls and updates on my aunt’s care and welfare. All the staff are extremely helpful, polite and considerate, and my aunt is much happier and more relaxed at Tall Trees.
The manager was extremely helpful in ensuring a smooth transition, assessment and support with understanding benefits etc when my aunt transferred and in talking me through the support and activities at Tall Trees.

Unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision that Mum need additional care at the beginning of lockdown, which posed a number of difficulties. Tall Trees accommodated a visit so Dad could feel confident he was making the right decision and supported him through a very difficult admission process.
Obviously, visiting has been an ongoing issue for care homes across the UK, but Tall Trees have done everything they can to keep us in touch with Mum virtually and answered any of our questions, including regular updates over the phone. They have continually adapted the visiting process to meet government guidelines and have been very understanding when Dad has needed additional reassurance over the last year. Every member of the Tall Trees staff seem to be part of a tight-knit community, and all work closely together with the families to ensure they provide the best care possible even with the challenges of the last year.

I'm very pleased with the care that my husband has been constantly receiving during his time as a Tall Trees resident. The management and staff are always kind and caring, and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. I appreciate the regular communication I receive about my husband's welfare too,
even despite the difficult times of the Covid Pandemic, and can't thank them enough, on behalf of me and my family!

I can’t speak highly enough about the management, nursing staff and all the carers and background staff of this excellent care home. My mother was a resident for 6-years, suffering from Alzheimer’s, with the need for constant personal care and was looked after with total professionalism and tenderness.

We choose Tall Trees to look after my Mum because the team were clearly equipped to deal with her very challenging dementia care needs. This was a distressing period for us all and immediately followed an extended stay in a psychiatric unit and a previous care home, so the choice was critical. Our criteria
were based almost entirely on a reputation for the specific type of dementia nursing care which Mum needed after the very close care and attention provided in the hospital. The credentials of the Tall Trees team came through very strongly on our first visit, satisfying all of our specific "how would you cope with..." questions as well as leaving us with a very strong impression of warmth in the approach.


It was a very settled team who were well trained and worked well together, keeping us informed when required and unobtrusively. You always worry about the phone ringing, but at Tall Trees, we really felt that we could sleep again at night knowing that Mum was truly in expert hands

My mum has been at Tall Trees for many years now. How glad we all were that Mum was given the chance to stay here. At this care home or home as it is known to us, it is the loveliest place to be if you have dementia. It is very, very clean, clothes are washed and named lovely, nothing is too much trouble.
The food is sensational, even a special homemade cake on your birthday. The manageress is lovely, always happy and helpful and always speaks to you. The carers treat my mum as they would treat their mum, her care is excellent, she is loved by all, she is well known for her singing, and the staff all join in with her. She has many problems as well as dementia, so the carers are very hands-on, it can not always be easy, so I am truly thankful to everyone for the love, kindness and care that they give to her. The care that she is given, you can not put a price on to be able to become a daughter rather than a carer gives you the freedom to realise how difficult your life has become.

Mum is very happy at Tall Trees - they always work hard to identify and meet her needs. She is very content here - she says that she is ‘living the life of a lady’. She is very positive about the staff saying that they are ‘very kind’. There is excellent person-centred care - allowing Mum to take the
lead. Her behaviour can be problematic later in the day - they cope with this well and continually review what is the best approach. Mum really benefits from the activity programme - the home have done brilliantly to keep this going during Covid. The food is excellent - freshly cooked on-site and flexibly provided. They have a 4 weekly ‘Resident of the Day’ process which involves a telephone review when they feed back to us. In addition they are very good at letting us know straight away of any significant issues and always ask our permission where relevant. The home are brilliant at taking our ideas on board - it really does feel like a partnership.

Mum has Alzheimer's and although it's hard to have to move someone from one home to another, we knew that Mum needed to be with staff who could help her to make sense of her world and provide the protection, reassurance and care that she needed. So the search began and after looking at many homes I
asked for a second visit to Tall Trees. This time, I had the experience of having visited other 'dementia friendly' homes and so I knew what I was looking for; kindness, friendliness and compassion and this is just what I found. You can have top-notch cinema rooms, hair salons etc, but without the human touch and genuine care and concern for your loved one, they mean nothing. Since moving Mum last Spring, I have seen less of a decline in Mum's condition, she seems happier and more settled, she has made friends, she joins in with activities, has learned to 'Facetime', and she receives excellent care from all the staff who are truly amazing, and I'm happy too - a lovely bonus!

In my opinion, Tall Trees is an excellent care home. The staff work very hard to maintain high standards of nursing and cleanliness. I value the dedication and kindness of each of member of the team at Tall Trees; they have brought me peace of mind knowing my mother has her needs met 24/7. The management
and carers are always busy, but always put the resident's priorities above everything else. My mother, who has struggled with her health in recent years, always speaks highly of the staff and the quality of food on offer.

100% an amazing nursing home. My husband is very well looked after and it is worth every penny as he is very well looked after and knowing this gives me peace of mind. The care is amazing and staff are all very pleasant both when I came in and now when I ring they are always happy to help. I have always
felt welcome and are very polite. The manager always took time out of her day to talk to me and now at this time we have regular chats and emails I am very grateful and I couldn't ask for more for my love one and I always tell the staff my appreciation and gratitude when I call.

One of the hardest decisions I have had to make was to look for a residential home, where I would hand my husband's care over to others. After visiting many establishments I chose Tall Trees. When my husband was admitted to Tall Trees from hospital, he was a very sad gentleman, unable to walk, talk
or attend to any of his personal needs, 'Advanced Dementia'. It has been three weeks from admission and a 'metamorphosis' has occurred! The improvement must be afforded to the dedication of the wonderful staff and the tender care he receives. Staff are kind, patient, attentive, passionate, and at all times display 'upholding the valued principles of care'. The love and care afforded to my husband is also given to me. My husband smiles again, is mobile and takes part in conversation. The home is clean, warm and happy, a feeling of home from home, I love visiting. Staff are always sharing/receiving information and nothing is ever too much trouble. The manager and her wonderful staff have so much to be proud of, exemplary in every aspect. Food is cooked to perfection, and of the highest quality, the home is free from odour, laundry is cleaned and returned maintaining dignity. May I take this opportunity to thank the manager and her staff for allowing me to return to being 'a wife'. Thank you.

A very comfortable home but in need of some modernisation in some areas. The home is reasonably well organised but the second floor, where my brothers room is, could benefit from having slightly more residents that my brother could relate to.

The staff do their best to be supportive and helpful. Both the staff and management are very accommodating and helpful towards my husband. They always treat him with dignity. Always listen to my worries and concerns about my husband. The facilities are adequate with his needs.

I’m a caring person, so it wasn’t a big surprise that I trained as a nurse and then moved into the care sector. I’m passionate about people and about delivering the high-quality care they deserve.


Care UK has a very clear and attractive vision for older people’s care. I joined the organisation in 2011 after working for various healthcare providers. It sounds odd to say this, but some providers don’t have care at the heart of what they do. Care UK is different, and I wanted to be a part of it.


We’re a close-knit, like-minded team at Tall Trees: each of us understands that we can make the difference to residents. Even the small things count in helping a resident to enjoy their day or have a meaningful interaction. When you see the positive impact this has on a person, it makes you want to do more and more!
