I came to Abbotts Barton after a relapse of my Rheumatoid Arthritis when my son had to come and live with me for 10 days as I live on my own, I lost all my confidence as I was unable to get dressed, get out of a chair, walk with my walker, or go to the toilet without help, Im hoping my stay will improve my confidence and I will be able to live on my own again

All the staff from the cleaners to the manager have been very supportive and although I need only a little help, they are always around when I need them, they recognise that I am usually a very independent person, they always know my name and there is always a smile to accompany this.

Having experienced having relation in various care homes in other counties, it was with trepidation that after realising my father could no longer cope at home, we made the difficult decision to bring him to Abbots Barton.
We need not have worried, the whole family feel at home here when they visit.
The staff are all very kind. The laundry service is excellent, as is the overall cleanliness and care.

A great weight was taken off us. Thank you all.

Since mum has arrived at Abbotts Barton the care that she has received has been outstanding. She is starting to engage more with the range of activities and I cannot fault the care home itself - it is spotlessly clean, comfortable and well maintained, I feel welcomed when I visit and part of the home. Thank you to the entire team for your outstanding dedication.

My Dad has been a resident at Abbotts Barton for two years now and felt right at home from the beginning. He struggled at home to come to terms with his advanced care needs and straight away the team were professional, warm, caring and reassuring and he has settled in so well. He has a lovely group of friends he meets for activities, minibus trips, chess, dinner and drinks. He also values the relationships he as grown with all the staff, the care staff and companion team in particular. They have all taken the time to get to know him well and I know he has so much respect for the amazing work they do. The nursing team and care staff understand his care needs brilliantly and when he has been poorly, they have noticed straight away which is reassuring for my family and I that he is in the best hands. Having a nursing team in house has been invaluable. He wouldn't be anywhere else. What an amazing home!

My mother has been a resident here since 2023 and has been so happy and content every day.
The care that she has every day is 100% and always given with so much love and attention.
Mum feels like it is one big happy family.
Mum has been poorly recently and I cannot fault the wonderful nursing care she has been given.
It helps me too, allowing me to be her daughter and not her carer. Priceless.

Thank you to the whole team here @ Abbotts Barton.

I am so impressed by the care and kindness shown to my father. The staff got to know him and understand his sense of humour very quickly, and how he is increasingly showing his great age, they remain endlessly patient and helpful. His choices are respected while he still receives the support he needs. He loves the food and never complains about a thing. I also feel well supported. They are very quick to respond to any pain.

Excellent 1st impression continued through my mother's stay at Abbotts Barton. The care and medical assistance was top quality in particular. My mother commented on how impressed and happy she was with the food and staff in particular. This was only a short three week stay for her this time, but if she ends up returning to Abbots Barton in the future, I am sure she will be happy.

I have been in for a fortnight's respite care and have been really well looked after.
The cleanliness, facilities and staff have all been excellent, the food too and very much enjoyed. I was treated with great kindness and respect at all times, and help was always on hand should I require it. My room was lovely and the roses were a much appreciated extra touch.

I would be very happy to recommend Abbots Barton.

I have been here for two weeks. I have found the place efficient and welcoming with kind and friendly staff. The food is delicious and varied, although I would prefer a supper later that 5:30pm - Sandwiches at midnight are a delight! The gardens are beautiful.

My Mother has been a resident for over 4 years. She is incredibly happy and the care is outstanding. All staff are kind, highly competent and caring. These very high standards are set by the Home Manager and cascade through to all teams in the home - nurses, carers, activities, catering and housekeeping.

My Mother's strong relationships with staff and residents are vital to her. She enjoys engaging in the wide ranging activities and having the beautiful garden. In her words:

"Abbotts Barton do everything they can to make everything right for you. They know your fancies and foibles. Automatically get for you the things you like and need. It makes me feel relaxed. I am in control of my life, people here listen to me."

My Mother also has very complex health issues. The nursing team's prompt and skilled actions have probably saved her life on a number of occasions.

This is an excellent Care Home with a lovely culture that treats all residents and their families with respect and care.

I have had four weeks in Abbots Barton care home - respite care following a fall when I injured my hip. I have felt safe and well cared for and all the staff have been without exception, polite, respectful and helpful.. I have had all my prejudices about care homes and old people completely blown away and I found everybody to be interesting and intelligent and good company. I love the fact that there are 20 nationalities represented amongst the staff and even more languages spoken.. I particularly appreciated the activities that were on offer - an exercise class nearly every morning and some sort of activity to stretch the brain in the afternoon such as a quiz or a crossword or number games. I have also been on some interesting trips and particularly enjoyed the trip to Chichester and boat ride around the harbour..

The food has mostly been good and sometimes very good, varied and imaginative. One thing I would criticise is that the vegetables, to my taste, usually, were overcooked.
