What an excellent care home! We needed an emergency respite service for Mum after her fall and two days in A&E/hospital. The staff team pulled out all the stops to get Mum assessed, organised and installed all within a few hours. The focus of attention was Mum and meeting all her needs. The team also

The home is immaculate with a very comfortable hotel-style reception area - leading out to spacious and extremely clean rooms. There is a varied menu - the food is first class and beautifully presented. We have found every staff member, regardless of position, to be kind, courteous, friendly and always
extremely helpful. Any minor problems have been immediately rectified. A Parkinson's patient requires a regular to live to, which is applied here - keeping my husband happy and stress free.

Belmore Lodge

from Martin C (Brother of Resident) published on 9 December 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My sister was a resident at Belmore Lodge for eleven months, sadly requiring round the clock nursing care for her terminal illness. The nursing care my sister received was exemplary. Every member of staff was always friendly, caring and courteous to both her and myself, nothing was too much trouble
for any of them. My sister mentioned to me frequently during her care, that she had come to regard many of the staff as her new friends! Sadly my sister has now passed on, and on the odd occasion I have visited Belmore Lodge since for whatever reason, the staff are still very friendly and courteous to me.
If one day in the future, sadly I require some form of care, my first enquiry will be placed at Belmore Lodge, I very much doubt I will need to enquire elsewhere!!
Reply from Janie Wilkins, Home Manager at Belmore LodgeThank you for sharing your heartfelt feedback regarding Belmore Lodge. We are deeply sorry for your loss and are truly touched by your kind words about the care your sister received. It means so much to know she felt supported and cared for, and that our team could also offer comfort to you during that time. Your trust and recommendation mean a great deal to everyone.

My mother was due to move to Braemar on Monday 27th November. It was all very difficult at home. I rang Braemar, they had previously said to ring if needed. They jumped into action at their inconvenience & brought forward Ma's move to 9th October. They moved heaven & earth to make it happen. Ma was
the first resident in the restored hall of the home. They even moved other residents to keep Ma company. Everyone was kind & welcoming. Thank you all so much.

My stepmother was resident at Avon Cliff following a knee replacement for respite and enjoyed her time there and the care she received. When she needed full-time care, she had no hesitation in choosing Avon Cliff again. Her care was always excellent, but it went beyond that because the staff, from admin,
reception, entertainment, care and management were all superb, with many quickly becoming friends to her and to the rest of the family when we visited. I highly recommend Avon Cliff and thank them for all they did.

Newstone House

from M W (Son of Resident) published on 19 November 2025
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother has now been a permanent resident in Newstone House for four and a half years, having previously spent many respite breaks there which enabled her to get to know the home and vice-versa. She has recently moved upstairs to the home's dedicated dementia care floor where there are plenty of activities
to keep the residents stimulated with, for example, minibus trips out and visiting musicians, which my mother especially likes. The staff will always go the extra mile - in my mother's case it was taking her swimming. Whenever I visit I always feel welcome and should I have any concerns they can be raised and addressed there and then. My mother is happy there and I know that she is safe and being looked after which is a weight off my mind as I get no younger.
Reply from April King, Home Manager at Newstone HouseThank you for your kind review. Dementia is a horrible condition but with the help and assistance of all the staff in the home, residents are able to carry on their daily routines.
The level of care and respect shown is nothing but brilliant.
The outings and activities laid on are mixed and tailored to suit individual needs and preferences.
Food
is varied and tailored to residents requirements.
A home from home.
