Amberwood House

This is not a carehome but a five star hotel,my friend who celebrated her 99th birthday this weekend has been in this hotel for a year now and reluctantly agreed to try respite but now would not want to be anywhere else.She feels safe and definitely looked after .from entering the reception you are always greeted my Sonja or Camilla not just Hello but how are you. Kerry the Manager always door open to listen to and straight away on a problem. Maddie Nici,Sarah Jill,Gemma the list goes on for all their help around the home. I'm so happy for my friend as she was very independent and found this transition hard didn't want to join in the activities but now secretly think she would like me to leave as to join in lol The Home is scrupulously clean the food is amazing and will cater for the residents needs. They are always doing activities and trips on the mini bus and also little touches of informing the residents with their weekly newsletter of all the events going on.

Amazing staff, beautiful place. My granny is very happy here. Very welcoming to all friends and family to visit. Lovely garden and communal area for all residents to socialise and join in with activities. Food is amazing!!

My mum has been in this care home for about 6 weeks now and I can not fault the staff , the high standard of care and the quality of life mum has had in this home , she is so happy here , I would highly recommend this care home .

This is an Amazing Care Home. It's a shame I can't name names, as many of the staff that have been looking after my mum, and who still are, have been extremely caring, attentive and empathetic, we have all been made to feel welcome and have been able to treat this as home from home. I feel much more relaxed knowing that my mum is being well looked after here. The food is truly delicious and prepared by chefs, nothing is too much trouble, I can't recommend this home highly enough. You are all truly amazing, smiley and approachable. Thank-you to you all.

The home provide a very welcoming approach and have ensured my Dad is always happy.

The home is very well run, clean and well set up. Staff are caring and compassionate. I have marked value for money as good because this level of care is very expensive but on par with other care homes.

As soon as I went into Amberwood House, I felt the positive attitude of the staff there. The team are always working hard together to support the residents. They are always thoughtful and caring and work as a team cheerfully to produce a very caring and dignified environment. As a visitor, I am always welcomed whenever I turn up, and I feel that I have come to be a friend to many of the staff. My husband is well looked after and is always treated with dignity. The management obviously run the home with great efficiency and have been very helpful to me.

Owing to her immobility, and having lived alone for many years, she finds it difficult to participate in communal activities.

Came here from hospital. Have been very happy here, everyone so friendly. Like a 5 star hotel. Food good. Lots to do everyday.

A very pleasant stay recovering from a knee operation. All staff very willing and kind. Lovely atmosphere everyone treated as an individual. A home from home.

All the staff are very professional and the home is very well managed, so much so my mother in law is now a permanent resident.

A safe and secure home which cares for my wife's physical needs, her disabilities (sight loss + immobility) tends to curtail her ability to participate in the 'social' activities in the home. While there is little that can be done, the room size creates a level of discomfort and a 'stuffy' atmosphere, and air circulation is a problem. The home is welcoming to friends and family, and good for morale.

I visit Amberwood House several times a week with the wife of one of your residents. On every occasion this lady is greeted by her name and all staff are friendly and welcoming. The home is warm, always clean and has a lovely atmosphere. I would not hesitate to recommend this home, It is the best I have been connected to. The manager is always around, stops for a chat etc - her staff are a credit to her. A very special home I think.

My mother has been a resident at Amberwood House for the last nine years. The care that Mum has received has been excellent during this time. As Mum's health has deteriorated staff have adapted to her needs and take time to explain what they are doing, because of her hearing and dementia.

We are finding Amberwood House a very safe, homely and happy place for our mum to be in. Every member of staff that we have met has been very loving and caring to Mum. The food is very good but Mum would welcome more plain and simple food.

I can genuinely say I would boast about Amberwood House, it is perfect. All the staff are attentive and friendly, I am very content and have not been let down by anyone.

I was my mother-in-law's carer prior to her move to Amberwood House and I harboured fears that she may not receive the same care as I had been giving. Oh my goodness, I was so wrong to worry! Every member of staff, no matter which department they work in, has become our extended family. Their care, love and devotion to all residents is wonderful to see and be a part of. Amberwood is truly a special place and the staff there all give 100%, every day in every way. All I can say is thank you from the bottom of my heart.

From the moment you arrive at Amberwood House, you are greeted with smiles and treated like part of a family. I feel so lucky that my mum now has a second family to look after her, everyone from the companions, cleaning, medical, management and carers take time out to check and engage with my mum, above what would be considered as their normal job role. I cannot thank all the staff enough for the care and love they give to my mum and all our family.

Mum has been in Amberwood House for 2 years now. She has settled in really well. My daughter and I looked at other care homes in the area but Amberwood was the best that we saw. The staff are all excellent, from the kitchen through to the nursing staff and everyone is committed to providing the best of care with dignity. It is very important as a family that we are secure in the fact that Mum is in the best place and with the best care and Amberwood surpasses that at every level.
