Amberwood House

Amazing care home, can not find anything to complain about! My Mother is very happy and looked after extremely well.

As she comes towards end-of-life nowhere could be better for her to spend her final days.

I would not hesitate to recommend Amberwood House, it is the best care home!

At first, I was not looking forward to entering a care home as I had heard so many bad reports. My daughter found Amberwood House for me and I must admit I have been very happy since being here. Lovely caring staff, excellent food and everything run at an extremely high standard. Amberwood House is tops and now home for me.

My mother has lived happily here for eleven months now. The care and attention to detail are of a very high standard. All the staff are very kind and attentive. It was the best decision to choose this home for my mother. The companion team have absolutely made a huge difference in Mum's life. The home manager is an excellent manager and always has time for Mum and the relatives.

My mother settled into Amberwood House really quickly and has no regrets about leaving her home. The staff have been lovely and have really catered for all her needs. The rooms and communal areas are clean and tidy and well-maintained. I would definitely recommend Amberwood House.

I cannot fault Amberwood House and all staff there. They made my mother's last few months a joy with their caring, kindness and unfailing compassion. They took in a challenge as the only place she wanted to be was 'home' and that simply wasn't possible. They patiently won her round, discovered gentle ways to deal with the anxiety and behaviours and made her feel loved. The food was excellent. Mother regained all the weight she had lost through not eating at home.

The best decision I made for my mum was placing her in Colten. From the top management to the part-time staff. Everyone's focus is on the resident. Nothing is too much trouble for all staff whether it's medical, activities meals or just a chat. I have been so impressed with how the relatives are kept informed of medical conditions or just chat about anything I wish to discuss with them. If you are considering a care home for a friend or relative please talk to the management and staff at Amberwood. It will be the best move you make for your loved one.

Always excellent care for my Mum. The staff are so welcoming and have always gone the extra mile to give Mum a safe, caring and dignified home. I cannot thank each and every member of staff enough. Mum recently tested for Covid and the staff either phoned or sent a text every day to update us. Thankfully she had recovered but this is how lovely and caring the staff are.

My mother-in-law has been at Amberwood House since 2019 and has always received the best care. The staff are always friendly and professional and go out of their way to make her stay as enjoyable as possible. I have the highest regard for the staff and the high standards they maintain.

Following many months of illness, my sister's speedy admission to Amberwood and warm, caring welcome was a huge relief. This is a very comfortable home. The atmosphere was calm and homely. She loves her room, spending time in the garden and lounge, feels safe and secure, and knows she is in the right place. Staff are wonderful, genuinely kind, caring, compassionate, and skilled. Nothing too much trouble. With their help, my sister is regaining mobility and enjoying life again. The generous meals look wonderful. Visitors are very welcome. Amberwood has given me reassurance that my sister has peace of mind, compassionate care, and quality of life, all I could ask for.

Amberwood House offers a homely environment that is both caring and professional. It is well led by a General Manager and Health Care Manager who are both very approachable and supportive. All the staff are very friendly and go out of their way to meet the needs of their residents nothing is too much trouble. The catering is excellent and offers a varied and appetising choice of dishes each day. Guests are allowed to visit at any time which is very flexible. Highly recommend the home.

Fantastic environment and great all round professional care with obvious strong leadership. Comfortable surroundings, spacious facilities and very flexible, accomodating staff/administrators.

My father arrived at Amberwood in August 2020 following a major stroke. His mental health had been hugely affected by the stroke and he was extremely unsettled. The staff at Amberwood have been wonderful and shown so much kindness and consideration to my father’s condition. The staff have been very supportive to me during difficult times and I’ve seen an almost miraculous improvement in my dad’s condition. He is very settled and very fond of the staff led by the manager. I feel there’s excellent team morale and a strong working ethos with an emphasis on compassion. I thoroughly recommend Amberwood.

It has been sad to see my mother lose her independence but I believe Amberwood has been an excellent choice. The care home is very welcoming and the residents are treated with kindness and respect. The food is very good and the staff have gone out of their way to be helpful and they have a happy and positive view. I couldn't ask for more - apart from the end of covid!

My mum is in a great place for all the reasons indicated in the ratings. This gives me and the family peace of mind as we mostly live in Scotland. The team here are to be congratulated as it's not the easiest job in the world.

The care staff, nursing staff, and management all invest their interests in the residents and genuinely seem to care about mum's wellbeing this makes the world of difference. They go over and above the call of duty with their level of interest in their residents.
