Amberwood House is a beautiful home in Ferndown.

Residents enjoy companionship and can join in with singing, music, exercise and arts and crafts sessions. There is the opportunity for gentle gardening activities in the summer sunshine, and there is a busy pen pal scheme.
The home is registered for nursing care and staffed by dedicated nurses and health care professionals with extensive experience in caring for age-related conditions and fully trained in infection control.

My neighbour came for 4 we4eks respite after leaving hospital. He loved the care and friendship of all the team and promptly decided to sell his house and move in. I have been delighted with the reception he has received and the way his friends are always welcome to visit. It is truly his home already
and I am so glad he is happy here.

My experience at Amberwood was a very pleasant surprise. I had torn an achilles tendon and couldn't manage at home. I found the staff exceptional, always charing and going the extra mile to help and assist the patients. The food was good - myself and friends having some very pleasant meals.

My relative came to this care home after a prolonged period in the hospital. Her needs are complex and challenging. The staff have been very professional, caring and proactive. I am enormously impressed by the care my sister-in-law is receiving and grateful.

I have 2 friends who are residents - both very well cared for - physically and psychologically. Nursing care is with kindness, compassion and respect and dignity. Social interaction is respectful of people's wishes but the "entertainment" is very good. Participation encouraged with both clients and

Living in Lancashire far away, I stayed an extra night in the well-appointed Guest room, as my heart couldn't pull myself away from my very ageing mum. Seeing her loose her ambulate, loose her sight and now with pain, while she still retains her lively spirit. I had seen and knew the Amberwood care
and facilities were excellent. From the nursing to the cleaning, all were excellent but I still worried who would replace me as her attentive son and companion? Who would stroke her hair, sit and play cards and sing with her?
And then I met one of the to Colten Companion Team and the magic happened. I was released and I could book my return train ticket confident that mum was being looked after totally. Thank you Coulton Companions and all at Amberwood House.

We needed a safe warm environment for mum after a serious fall. She is an independent very elderly lady, who appreciates privacy, empathetic care and beautiful surroundings. After a big confidence knock back she wanted to be able to recover steadily, choosing her own pretty room at her own pace. All
needs were met at Amberwood House, after a trusted friend's recommendation. Mum wanted to extend her respite fortnight so although expensive we felt Amberwood House represented all she needed as we are 80 miles away. Warm understanding competent staff, tranquil, stylish rooms, frequent diverse staff visits a lovely home.

I moved into Amberwood in 2014 on respite and was so happy that I decided to stay. The food and catering team are excellent. I am very happy living at Amberwood and the staff team are very kind and friendly and very happy with the care and support I receive. Lots of activities which I really enjoy.

My mother arrived at Amberwood House at the end of January 2016 and the move went very smoothly due to the efficient care of so many staff members. Listed below are a few points I find impressive about Amberwood House.
1. Good first impression on entering the reception area throughout the ground floor.
2. Bright internal furnishings and decor.
3. Good sized bedrooms and bathrooms furnished to a high standard.
4. Friendliness of the staff both of the residents and their guests.
5. Variety and flexibility of the daily meals- often a special pasta dish will be prepared just for my mother as this is her favourite food.
6. The variety of activities throughout the week, especially at the weekend.
7. Might consider getting in a manicurist a couple of days a week in the room used by the hairdresser.
