Woodpeckers

My parents were warmly welcomed when they moved into Woodpeckers in July. Mum thoroughly enjoyed the extensive range of craft activities and they both loved the trips out in the minibus. Dad attends exercise classes which are really helping him and a highlight of the week is definitely Sunday singing. During my mum's recent illness the staff have gone above and beyond to support my father and our family. Woodpeckers offers a wonderful caring community of which we are privileged to be a part.

Both of my parents moved in July and the management & staff have made them feel part of the woodpeckers family through celebrations & events. The companionship (activities) staff are excellent. The events very well organised especially the BBQ & mum & dads 65th wedding anniversary. The staff are always willing to help mum & dad. The rooms & food are excellent. Thank you woodpeckers

We are looked after very well. The staff are very very helpful and always come in with a smile. The staff never make me feel I am a bother I like the fact that the home is not too big, and I can walk around the garden. I like that there is always something going on. The food is just like home cooking, and I like having breakfast in bed.

I have received great care and attention throughout my stay.

My mother was cared for with compassion and patience in the 2 years she stayed in Woodpeckers we never say any member of staff get cross or irritable or behave with anything other than professionalism and empathy. Huge efforts were made like the ambiance of the home, the gardens, the activities and the food. Her room was small and it was difficult to see how she paid the same rates as those with rooms double the size.

Woodpeckers is such a wonderful care home, each of the staff are genuinely lovely and very caring and sincere. The care home goes to a huge effort to design a varied course of activities that are inclusive. Visitors are made to feel extremely welcome and are so well cared for. The care is excellent, and I am so pleased to know my nan is being so well cared for.

Every need is taken care of, there are engaging daily activities, and an amazing menu for each day. The environment is homely, and the staff are always welcoming, warm and friendly to all. Nothing is too much trouble. I could ask for no more. Thank you Woodpeckers.

I have been here since November '25. Very happy here. Everyone very kind, helpful and caring and makes you feel very welcomed. Nothing seems to be too much trouble to stop and have a few words and very smiling faces. Makes one feel wanted. Very kind indeed. So for ke, I thank them all very much and god bless. All staff are so kind and happy and always has time to share a word or two.

The staff are friendly and welcoming, making you feel at home. The care given feels personal and always accommodating. The food is very good with plenty of choice and the activities are varied and interesting. My Mother really looks forward to going for respite which gives us peace of mind and happy to go and relax ourselves knowing she is safe and well cared for.

My mother had a chest infection after Xmas it left her feeling very depressed. I can't express how patient the staff have been with mum. They sat with her, prayed with her, hugged her, and have just been there for her. Mum is now feeling better and we can't thank the staff enough.

The care at Woodpeckers is amazing; they have a total understanding of all the issues that you are faced with when putting a patient in care. This is the perfect place for peace of mind.

Sadly our mum was only at Woodpeckers for a very short time, but was treated with great care, as were we during the time we visited. We would gladly recommend Woodpeckers! This was a difficult time, and we were treated so thoughtfully by all the staff.

Woodpeckers is an informal but professionally run home. More akin to a Country House than a formal, regimented care home. During her almost 4-year stay, my mum had been looked after with care, compassion and dignity whilst she was able. She had many enjoyable times with the entertainment team, who constantly came up with new ways of helping her pass the time and bring many a smile to her face. The care team too were excellent, especially in mum's final days. Standards of hygiene and cleanliness are excellent, and the food is good and varied. I would definitely recommend Woodpeckers.

I would thoroughly recommend "Woodpeckers", being homely and safe, with pleasant staff. All who do more than required each and every day. Dietary needs are adhered to at all times. Safety for the residents at all times.

Woodpeckers was recommended to us by the family of a friend of my mother. She has been there for a couple of years and could not speak more highly of her experience. Mum has now been there for 3 weeks, and the staff and residents could have been more welcoming. Above all, it's the feel of the place that is so special, and we are so pleased to have found it.

Woodpeckers fully deserves its 'outstanding award'. All the usual care facilities are first class but more importantly personal care for individual residents is outstanding. My elderly friend sees Woodpeckers as her home.

Woodpeckers provide my 102-year-old mother with a safe, caring, supportive and warm place to live. The staff are caring, professional and courteous.

I am most impressed with all aspects of the care provided. The facilities are first class of the standard of a good country house hotel. The staff at every level are excellent. Fulfilling their duties most efficiently but also in a friendly and most importantly caring manner. The manager is always responsive and helpful. The care home is highly recommended.

The quality of the home is very good but does come at a price. Residents are well looked after and there is always something to keep them engaged. The gardens at Woodpeckers are a huge asset and certainly loved by my mother.

My mother has been at Woodpeckers for 17 months now and is very happy. Her sight and mobility are very limited, and all of the staff are very helpful and encouraging in helping her to participate in some of the activities.
