The staff are friendly, caring, positive and thoughtful, always treating residents with dignity and respect. They have truly opened up a new world for my dad, giving him opportunities to engage, socialise and enjoy life. Seeing him smile and laugh again has meant so much to me and our family. We are very grateful for the kindness, support and excellent care he receives.

Newstone House has given my mother such tender care. The staff are incredibly warm and caring, and that's been so important to help my mum transition to being in a home. She has been so reassured by the friendliness and warmth she's received most importantly her agency has been respected, which has done so much to offer her lots of independence. Everyone is very careful to listen to family and are incredibly responsive and accommodating. It's an amazing place. We are so grateful.

My mother was cared for at Newstone House for 2 1/2 years. For most of this time she was relatively active and she was able to take part in activities in the home which she enjoyed. She was ill several times during this period and was always well looked after. She became ill in August and after 10 days in hospital had almost 2 weeks at Newstone before she died. The care for her and the family during that 2 weeks was amazing - we are so grateful.

My mother-in-law had a short stay (2 1/2 weeks). We were very happy with the care and all the support staff who help to make this home excellent. It is very homely but has 5 star hotel services including the laundry services and excellent food. There are some very good activities for the residents. We were looked after too. We live 300 miles away, but felt very reassured about the care, including some nursing tasks (dressings) were all carried out to a high standard.

The home is immaculate with a very comfortable hotel-style reception area - leading out to spacious and extremely clean rooms. There is a varied menu - the food is first class and beautifully presented. We have found every staff member, regardless of position, to be kind, courteous, friendly and always extremely helpful. Any minor problems have been immediately rectified. A Parkinson's patient requires a regular to live to, which is applied here - keeping my husband happy and stress free.

What an excellent care home! We needed an emergency respite service for Mum after her fall and two days in A&E/hospital. The staff team pulled out all the stops to get Mum assessed, organised and installed all within a few hours. The focus of attention was Mum and meeting all her needs. The team also ensured we were well looked after. The home has been outstanding!

My mother has now been a permanent resident in Newstone House for four and a half years, having previously spent many respite breaks there which enabled her to get to know the home and vice-versa. She has recently moved upstairs to the home's dedicated dementia care floor where there are plenty of activities to keep the residents stimulated with, for example, minibus trips out and visiting musicians, which my mother especially likes. The staff will always go the extra mile - in my mother's case it was taking her swimming. Whenever I visit I always feel welcome and should I have any concerns they can be raised and addressed there and then. My mother is happy there and I know that she is safe and being looked after which is a weight off my mind as I get no younger.
