Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother was a resident at Abbeyview from January 2024 until January 2026. She moved into the home a year after our father died. Mum and Dad had been married for 60 years.
Mum was very anxious about moving into Abbeyview. She had the early onset of dementia and her mobility was limited. However, the
team at Abbeyview made her very welcome, helped her make friends and took great care of her as her dementia progressed. This excellent level of care was maintained right up to Mum's passing.
Reply from Elena Barna, Home Manager at Abbey View Nursing & Residential HomeThank you for sharing this lovely feedback. Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I cannot fault the love & care my Dad received from all the staff at Aldbury. He was only with them for a short while before he passed, but he was greeted with such warmth & love, as if he had been there for years. Everyone at the home is so welcoming, they fill the home with joy and nothing
is too much trouble. The residents are so well cared for & there is always something going on to entertain. In the last few days of my dads life both myself & my brother stayed by Dad's side, we were so well looked after, the staff were so kind & caring, we couldn't have wished for a lovelier team to help us in those difficult hours. They truly are angels.

My mother is not the easiest of people to look after but the staff at Fernhill have gone above and beyond. The staff have been incredibly patient with her whilst she settled in and have treated her as an individual. My mother had resisted all kinds of help - washing, dressing, attending activities.
Slowly, with the help of the staff, she has settled in so well and now I feel she feels that Fernhill is her home.

After visiting my parents at Abbey View for almost a year, I have been impressed by the caring and welcoming atmosphere. Residents and visitors are treated as individuals, and staff are almost exclusively long-term members of a high performing team.
During his final illness and subsequent death, my

My mother was cared for at Newstone House for 2 1/2 years. For most of this time she was relatively active and she was able to take part in activities in the home which she enjoyed. She was ill several times during this period and was always well looked after. She became ill in August and after 10 days
in hospital had almost 2 weeks at Newstone before she died. The care for her and the family during that 2 weeks was amazing - we are so grateful.

My mother-in-law had a short stay (2 1/2 weeks). We were very happy with the care and all the support staff who help to make this home excellent. It is very homely but has 5 star hotel services including the laundry services and excellent food. There are some very good activities for the residents.
We were looked after too. We live 300 miles away, but felt very reassured about the care, including some nursing tasks (dressings) were all carried out to a high standard.
