Thomas Hardy country is the setting for Castle View in Dorchester. This uniquely designed home is built on the Poundbury Estate with its links to the Duchy of Cornwall. The spacious reception area welcomes you to the home offering luxury en-suite accommodation to fifty-seven residents.

Residents enjoy companionship and can join in with singing, music, exercise and arts and crafts sessions. There is the opportunity for gentle gardening activities in the summer sunshine, and there is a busy pen pal scheme.
The home is registered for nursing care and staffed by dedicated nurses and health care professionals with extensive experience in caring for age-related conditions and fully trained in infection control.

Castle View provides an atmosphere of spaciousness and light, with its luxurious reception lounge, garden room with French doors leading to patio and garden, large terrace, and second-floor lounge with panoramic views over the surrounding countryside.

The home offers four luxury suites with separate sleeping and living areas. A well-equipped activities room and cafe for the use of residents and visitors alike.

My Mother lived independently and had always resisted moving to a care home, but when she was no longer safe at home, we moved her into Castle View. After a few weeks of adjustment, she said she was, 'very content' there, and enjoyed the view from her ground-floor room, watching the dogwalkers, and
families on the playing fields opposite. Castle View ran a busy programme of activities, and soon persuaded Mum to visit the lounge and take part in craft pursuits, and she enjoyed visits from local groups.
I was impressed with the genuine caring approach of every member of the Castle View staff, from the housekeeping team up to the Clinical Lead and management. All the team took time to chat and engage with Mother, responding promptly to calls for assistance. The care staff developed a friendly banter with her, so she never felt alone and always felt safe and cared for. When she suffered an infection, the medical team provided antibiotics that later delivered a pain-free, peaceful passing.

My mum moved into Castle View in Feb this year and I can honestly say she could not be happier. She has a wonderful view from her upstairs room which is well equipped and kept so clean. She is treated with dignity and respect and is supported by the knowledgeable, friendly staff to maintain her independence
as much as possible despite her complex medical needs. The home has a lovely manager, who is so approachable and nothing is too much trouble. It is so well run and this is reflected in the happy environment. We are so grateful that we found this place.

My mother is 98 and has lived at Castle View for the last 7 years. Over these years, age has taken its toll, but I have found that Castle View has provided, at a high standard, the changing level of stimulation and care that my mother required. The staff has been excellent, in sometimes difficult circumstances.

My Mother moved to Castleview just over 2 years ago as she was no longer able to live independently.A decision made easier by Castle View .
They welcomed my Mother helping her settle in ensuring the transition of moving was made easier for both my Mum and the family. It was a pleasure to see my Mum
enjoying company, outings, being introduced to new hobbies, having her hair done and all other amazing facilities. Even the laundering of her clothes were to a high standard along with the cleanliness of all areas of the home.
They gave my Mother the upmost respect, friendship, care and compassion.
Living away allowed me to trust all staff 100% with the care of my Mother.
My Mother passed away this month. Whilst my Mum was poorly the staff gave dignity, respect and love to my Mum.
The professionalism and dedication of the staff is head and shoulders above other homes we considered. I would have no hesitation in recommending Castle View to anyone considering care for their loved one.

I came to Castle View for respite following surgery. My experience with the admin team was pleasant, helpful, and informative. I was allocated to a second-floor room with interesting views and a sunny light aspect. A much-needed ensuite with a wash basin and wet room with easy reach. All the facilities
were kept to a high standard of cleanliness. Food was served in your room, in the lounge, or in the pleasant dining room. I did look, and the menu was good, and the food was well presented. The staff was the high point of my stay - Polite, friendly, enthusiastic, and attentive. I would definitely return!

I feel fortunate to be staying at this care home, mainly because I will be 90 years old next month, although I was always happy, since I was 20, to keep house and home, now I feel relieved to let people much younger than me take over. I am truly grateful for that. It's also good to see the woods in

My father has been staying here for over two and a half years. In this time, he has been well looked after and the staff have been very accommodating to all of his needs. His personal care has been exemplary, with all of the staff showing kind, caring behaviour, they treat you like a member of the family
and nothing is too much. The trips out have really helped to keep things as normal as possible in a very changeable world. Well done!

My father is always very well looked after, he always looks very clean and well presented. His nursing needs have become more complex but we feel that Castle View is able to look after him professionally now and should his condition deteriorate further. That gives us great peace of mind. My father entered Castle View just after the first lockdown. From the very first moment, Dad was so well looked after. All the staff are so friendly but also professional. They have staff for every eventuality, carers, nurses, entertainment as well as all support services. It always seems to be very

It was necessary for my husband to go into a care home at the start of the covid lockdown. He had a severe stroke in January 2013 and needed two carers four times a day, however, with the difficulties of lockdown the carers could not always come and some evenings I was having to put him to bed on my
own. Castle View was a godsend, we feel so fortunate to have this wonderful place nearby. He is always so well cared for, the many staff all treat him with love and dignity. The home is very well managed and I never worry about him being there.

I'm not sure where to start, my elderly friend moved into Castle View about four weeks ago. On arrival she was greeted with professionalism and care, in what was a stressful and emotional time for her. I visit daily and have met most of the staff, who have all introduced themselves. I often find one
or another with my friend when I arrive, checking in and making sure she is safe and comfortable. The home has made sure to meet my friend's needs, physically, emotionally and spiritually, ensuring she is included in activities, and I believe have gone above and beyond to help her settle in. The staff, facilities, menu, activities, room and equipment is absolutely five star. It has eased my worry knowing my friend is being well looked after and cared for in an environment that is clean, warm, friendly and with staff that really do care.
