The care my relative received was outstanding from my first contact with the home to the exceptional care delivered until the end. The attention to detail, the delicious varied menu, the beautiful surroundings both inside and out. The kindness and personal centred support, treating my relative with
dignity and respect at all times. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone looking for care for a loved one.

Have nothing but praise for the team at St Catherine's View. Mum was admitted in January 2025 due to her advanced dementia. We looked after mum at home until we could no longer cope with her challenging behaviour but the team there do a fantastic job and mum seems quite settled.

She does not join

in any activities so I am unable to comment on them.

The decision to move dad into a care home to support his late stage dementia was a difficult one, the choice of home however is something we have never regretted. It was important to us for dad to be in a specialist dementia facility where his condition and needs would be understood.

We are so grateful

to all the staff at St Catherines View and the exceptional care dad received there. Visiting dad often we could see how well dad was supported and cared for. The nursing and care staff were excellent, extending that kindness to us too.

I have been visiting at Linden House for over a year. I have always found the facility clean, neat and well maintained. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming at all times and are happy to offer coffee or a meal. It's fantastic that I an visit at any time. There is often entertainment going on

Belmore Lodge

from Philip T (Respite Resident) published on 11 September 2025

May I again thank you for looking after me during my 5 week stay at Belmore Lodge. I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my right knee which caused swelling and lack of flexibility and then I developed a hematoma in the same leg which really reduced my mobility. I was at home by myself (not married)
for a couple of weeks with no appetite and unable to walk without sticks. My right leg felt so weak that I was afraid to go outside in case I fell. I decided that respite care was the only solution as I was barely eating and you were kind enough to allow me to stay in the Lodge with you again. All the staff, again, were first class in assisting my recovery and I left on Tuesday in a much better frame of mind than when I entered the Lodge. I am now looking forward to meals (not as good as your chef's who could easily be given a few Michelin Stars) and am now able to walk short distances (I spent yesterday afternoon tidying up the garden) without sticks thanks to the physio I was given
Reply from Janie Wilkins, Home Manager at Belmore Lodge

Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt review. We're so pleased you chose to return to Belmore Lodge for respite and that our team were able to support your recovery. It's wonderful to hear you left feeling brighter, enjoying meals again, and able to get back to your garden. Your kind words about the staff and chef mean a great deal to us all.

As a family we are incredibly grateful that we entrusted Linden House with the care of our mother during the final three years of her life and later with our stepfather in his final few months of life. From the very first day, the staff made us feel welcomed and reassured. The atmosphere is bright,
comfortable and thoughtfully designed for residents with dementia, it's safe and accessible with plenty of activities and trips in the minibus. Medical care is first class. We received regular updates about our mother's + step fathers health and well-being. We can't thank the entire team for their exceptional care and support they provided for our family.

The staff at Linden House are a fantastic team. They took care of dad, so well, but also found time to be there for me. I thank them all. Trusting a loved one to someone else is an incredibly patient and tolerant, when I was over demanding.

well maintained.

We as a family can't fault the care my mum received during her respite stay at Linden House, the staff were always friendly, kind and helpful, mum enjoyed the activities (and the food!) The only reason we moved her was because her dementia was not as severe as many others in there and we felt that she
needed a slightly lower level of care overall.

Woodpeckers is an informal but professionally run home. More akin to a Country House than a formal, regimented care home. During her almost 4-year stay, my mum had been looked after with care, compassion and dignity whilst she was able. She had many enjoyable times with the entertainment team, who constantly
came up with new ways of helping her pass the time and bring many a smile to her face. The care team too were excellent, especially in mum's final days. Standards of hygiene and cleanliness are excellent, and the food is good and varied. I would definitely recommend Woodpeckers.

My Mother has been a resident for over 4 years. She is incredibly happy and the care is outstanding. All staff are kind, highly competent and caring. These very high standards are set by the Home Manager and cascade through to all teams in the home - nurses, carers, activities, catering and housekeeping.

My

Mother's strong relationships with staff and residents are vital to her. She enjoys engaging in the wide ranging activities and having the beautiful garden. In her words:

"Abbotts Barton do everything they can to make everything right for you. They know your fancies and foibles. Automatically get for you the things you like and need. It makes me feel relaxed. I am in control of my life, people here listen to me."

My Mother also has very complex health issues. The nursing team's prompt and skilled actions have probably saved her life on a number of occasions.

This is an excellent Care Home with a lovely culture that treats all residents and their families with respect and care.
