Review of Abbotts Barton from E H (Respite Resident) published on 22 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
I came to Abbotts Barton after a relapse of my Rheumatoid Arthritis when my son had to come and live with me for 10 days as I live on my own, I lost all my confidence as I was unable to get dressed, get out of a chair, walk with my walker, or go to the toilet without help, Im hoping my stay will improve my confidence and I will be able to live on my own again

All the staff from the cleaners to the manager have been very supportive and although I need only a little help, they are always around when I need them, they recognise that I am usually a very independent person, they always know my name and there is always a smile to accompany this.

Overall Experience
Having experienced having relation in various care homes in other counties, it was with trepidation that after realising my father could no longer cope at home, we made the difficult decision to bring him to Abbots Barton.
We need not have worried, the whole family feel at home here when they visit.
The staff are all very kind. The laundry service is excellent, as is the overall cleanliness and care.

A great weight was taken off us. Thank you all.

Review of St Catherines View from Rev Chris W (Regular Volunteer) published on 13 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
As a local priest, I regularly visit St Catherine's View with a small team from our church to lead services for residents, and I also bring communion and pray with individuals.
I am consistently impressed by the high standards throughout the home. Staff are attentive, kind, warm and deeply caring. The activities team, led by Laura, are exceptional, offering an impressive range and variety of activities for residents.
I have also provided end-of-life spiritual care for several residents and have been struck by the way staff create a peaceful, safe and dignified environment for families to say their final goodbyes. One particularly moving example was when two members of staff stayed many hours beyond the end of their shift so a resident would not be alone while waiting for family to arrive.

Residents are clearly known and valued as individuals, treated with dignity and respect. I would happily and confidently entrust one of my own relatives to St Catherine's View.

Review of Court Lodge from Josephine B (Respite Resident) published on 29 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

I arrived at Court Lodge after spending 2 days in hospital for a hip replacement operation. I was met by a nurse who took me to my room, helping me to settle in. I have spent most of my time doing my exercises, enjoying the lovely food and resting on my bed as instructed by my consultant. I have been aware of the good range of activities but not been able to enjoy many of them. I am now at the end of my 2 weeks of respite and will go home to be met by my daughter & son in law.

Review of Linden House from Jo V (Daughter of Resident) published on 12 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Our dad Giuseppe has been cared for at Linden House for the past year, he sadly passed away on this past Tuesday.

The WHOLE team have been amazing, thier care and compassion shines through. Giuseppe was settled very quickly into home life, the team ensured we were updated of any changes in his mental or physical health in real time. They understood how hard it was for the family to move dad out of the family home and supported us throughout the transition.

Dad always looked content and well cared for, the team respected his boundaries, and didnt force activities on him, they adjusted his diet to accomodate his likes and dislikes, and on his birthday learnt how to say happy birthday in italian, this means so much more than they could know.

I cannot possibly name everyone, but this is for everyone at Linden house....THANK YOU.

Especially, Subhi and Rosemary who provided such amazing support towards the end of his fabulous and well lived life.

Dad loved and was loved x

I cannot fault the way my husband has been treated at Linden House. Every member of staff has been kind, caring, efficient and professional. They all made an effort to learn our names and even find drawing equipment for our 3 year old granddaughter. I recommend Linden House very highly.

Father has been a resident for just over a year and all staff worked hard to make him happy. He enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. The red shirts made every effort to include him in activities and walks in the garden. His lack of sight and hearing made this difficult. I cannot fault the care that he receives even now he is on end of life care. He and his room are always clean.

We just wanted to say a big thank you to you for all the help and advice you gave us before and during Dad's stay at Belmore Lodge. Without you we are not sure how we could have gone forward with his care after a very difficult few months in hospital following his fall at home.

You and all of your colleagues are all very special people and it was a pleasure to meet you all. Belmore Lodge is a lovely place and we were very pleased with all the wonderful care, help and kindness we received. The last couple of days have been a bit of a challenge you could say trying to settle him in back at home together with making sure we have everything in place but we are slowly getting there I think! Needless to say, we are missing you all but we will keep in touch. Thank you again for everything.

My mother has been at Belmore Lodge for 5 months now. Initially for a trial period, she found the home so friendly and relaxing that she didn't want to return home. The staff have been fantastic in getting to know Mum, her likes, dislikes and needs. I have been so impressed that everyone got to know her so quickly from the reception team to the dining staff, from the companion team to the fabulous nursing team.

It is such a relief to me to know that Mum is so well cared for and nurtured.

Review of St Catherines View from W F (Niece of Resident) published on 1 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My aunt has been a resident at St. Catherines View since late 2024 when her behaviour became more challenging. The staff managed these behaviours well and found the most sympathetic method of care for her.
The staff will always greet you, usually by name and make everyone feel very welcome and included in this very special family. Each time the care staff felt that there should be a change in my aunts care, there was always consultation, a phone call, a more formal meeting or a catch up during a visit.
The food on offer looks good and there there is a lot of cake to go with the almost continuous flow of tea and coffee.
The gardens are always full of interest and colour and it has been a joy to watch its many changing colours during the seasons. Sitting in the garden when possible has been very enjoyable.

There are a great variety of activities ranging from outings, craft, gardening and music to name a few. The activities my aunt has joined in with she has really enjoyed.

From the moment I visited Belmore Lodge and met some of the staff I knew this was going to be good for my Father as a respite break. It has a warm and welcoming vibe. All areas are clean and tidy, beautifully decorated. Lovely large lounge, restaurant and garden area with lots of seating. My Father was nervous first of all but soon started to enjoy himself. Staff were very kind and considerate. He is very much looking forward to another stay at the end of the year. Couldn't be more satisfied with his experience.

Review of Court Lodge from Camilla C (Daughter of Resident) published on 27 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

I can't praise the home manager and her team at the excellent Court Lodge Care Home more highly. After being resistant to the idea of residential care in favour of remaining in her own home, Court Lodge has been a brilliant step forward for my mother. It is a warm and welcoming care home in a lovely setting with bright sunny communal areas and a well cared for garden. There are a huge range of activities to cater for a range of interests both in, and outside, the home that are run by the Companionship Team with thoughtfulness and enthusiasm. The Clinical Team are excellent, they liaise regularly with the local GP's and have kept me informed and updated with any health issues that arise. I have also been involved in meetings to establish the most appropriate longer term care plans for my mother with kindness and respect. I can honestly say my experience of Court Lodge has helped me as a daughter to feel supported and enabled me to enjoy my mother's company far more.
