My brother(now aged 64) has severe learning difficulties from birth. Cams Ridge Care Home offered him a place as his previous longterm care home was unable to supply his needs following his short stay in hospital. Cams Ridge staff have looked after him since October 2025 superbly, have taken time to get to know him and understand him and to work around any difficulties/problems that occur in a very patient manner. The staff are very pleasant and helpful and the Home generally has a calm, happy atmosphere.

I found management and staff very caring and understanding, since my wife was admitted to Cams Ridge, she has become more settled and very comfortable with the staff, although she can have an off day they still treat her with dignity. I visit her most days and it is very comforting to see the care they give to the other residents as each one has their own problems. The food and entertainment and surroundings inside and out has to be recommended. Myself and four daughters are very happy my wife is in the right place.

From the start of the residency I have found that all of the staff have been professional, kind, friendly and caring at all times. Indeed, always willing to be of assistance that has made the difference in the excellent level of care that has been received. Many times you need to have compassionate guidance in making sure my step-mum was as comfortable as it could be in a difficult time of life. The facilities are comprehensive and interaction through the kind staff made a significant difference. Choice and selection of meals was good with flexibility by the chef / catering team to adapt to personal wishes which often could be a challenge for the team.
Excellent management who maintained close contact throughout the residency and were also supportive to the relations - thoughtful.

My mum moved into Cams Ridge in January 2025 after a stay in hospital. From the moment she arrived, the staff were amazing, making her feel so welcome and making us all as a family feel welcome too. Mum spent just under a year at Camps Ridge and was very happy there. She couldn't sing their praises loudly enough, she especially loved the food! The staff were so nice and kind to us as a family, and I couldn't have chosen a better place for my mum to end her days and thoroughly recommend Cams Ridge as a place for your loved one to be cared for.

I am a friend to a resident who moved into Cams Ridge Nursing home eight months ago. My friend has moderate dementia and limited mobility, and from the very first day we felt she was in safe and capable hands.
The staff are warm, patient and genuinely caring. They take time to talk to my friend, remember small details about her life, and adapt to her pace. When her health worsened some months ago, the nursing team kept us closely informed-always answered my calls promptly, explained what was happening, and reassured us.

We praised the care she received from the staff at Cams Ridge but were upset with owners over fees charged after my mums death on July 7th.Since then having spoken a Director of Cams Ridge I understand more the costs involved after her death. I was very upset at the time at losing my mum and we should have dealt with the issues differently.I do not want my original opinion to detract from the excellent care she received at Cams Ridge.Through out her care period she was treated exceptionally well and towards the end of her life the care staff could not have done more to cater for her every need.I think it is only fair to put the record straight.

Mum was resident at Cams Ridge for 2.5 years, during that time her care was excellent. Even when she eventually succumbed to dementia the care remained at the highest level. All the staff were excellent, the lady on reception, the nursing staff, the laundry lady, the carers, the young staff who brought her favourite apple juice each morning, they all knew Mum and treated her with kindness & dignity. A most special mention goes to her primary carer who provided great support to both Mum and the family during the most difficult times. Thank you Cams Ridge.

Marie Toledo is the Registered Manager of Cams Ridge Care and Nursing Home. He career in care has been shaped by compassion, respect and a deep commitment to making every resident feel safe, heard and valued.
My journey in care began many years ago when I worked as a nurse in my home country. From the very beginning, I found great fulfilment in caring for others, especially supporting people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. When I came to the UK, I knew I wanted to continue that same sense of purpose. Care felt like a natural path because the values of Cams Ridge — compassion, respect, dignity and person-centred care — truly align with my own.
Before joining Cams Ridge in 2022, I worked as a manager in three different care homes. I became a manager in 2018, and in my first leadership role I was proud to be part of a team that improved the home’s rating from Requires Improvement to Good, achieving its first Good rating. That experience strengthened my belief in strong leadership, teamwork and always putting people first.
What continues to inspire me every day is seeing the smiles on our residents’ faces. I have always believed that people may not remember your name, but they will remember how you made them feel and the impact you had on their lives.
What I love most is the daily interaction with our residents — talking with them, listening to their stories and simply spending time together.
Sometimes a 30-minute walk around the home can turn into two hours because I stop to chat with residents and make sure they are happy and well. Those moments remind me that care is not just about completing tasks; it is about building relationships, creating connections and making people feel valued.
To me, quality care is about making a positive difference in someone’s life. It means treating every resident as an individual, respecting their dignity and choices, listening to what matters to them, and helping them feel safe, valued and cared for. It is often the simple things that make the biggest impact — a smile, a conversation, or taking the time to truly listen.
When families come to Cams Ridge, we want them to feel welcomed, listened to and reassured from the very beginning. They are trusting us with someone they love, and that is a responsibility we never take lightly. We want every family to feel confident that their loved one is in caring, compassionate and capable hands.
