The staff at Cams Ridge have been nothing but professional, kind and caring! They genuinely want to do the best for the residents. My mother in law has recently settled in and we’ve not seen her so happy and relaxed in years. The staff are looking after her so well, ensuring she is absolutely comfortable
and has everything she needs. I would absolutely recommend that if you are looking for a care home, check out Cams Ridge!

Lovely clean home, something you notice at once smells nice. Carers are all very friendly and efficient nothing is too much trouble, especially at the moment with the lockdown. I visit my husband in the garden, lovely to see him even though I can't give him a cuddle.

Mum has been a resident since January 2020 and overall seems happy. Unfortunately, she suffers with Parkinson's and dementia which makes for more confusion at this awful time.
We have managed ‘window visits’, luckily as Mum is on the ground floor: waving and talking as best is possible, we find that
this is better than no contact at all and are pleased we can do it.
The activity team organising the garden visits are cheery and helpful, again at this difficult time. They also manage to make FaceTime calls with Mum to us which hopefully make her feel less lonely.

Was invited to see my mum for an hour during the lockdown, was happy with the safety measures put in place and felt quite at ease being there with her. The staff were very careful and made sure that she was comfortable in the garden and at the required distance away from me. It was lovely to see her
looking well after so long.

Friendly, caring staff.
The covid-19 lockdown has been amazing looking after my dad.
I was able to visit in the garden, and all PPE was done to the rules with social distancing.

At this difficult time of the coronavirus, I think the staff have all coped extremely well and efficiently. The resident must be very confused as to why they can't see their loved ones, and in some eases go out for the day. The staff have been very kind to them all and even arranged for me to meet up
with my husband in the garden - keeping within the guidelines. Thank you.

The care my dad receives from Cams Ridge is excellent. All of the staff from management to carers and the nursing team are excellent. It is a home from home. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Alongside the care Dad receives, we also receive a friendly welcome when visiting. Visiting is restricted
currently due to Covid-19 but we have regular FaceTime chats and updates. I feel confident that Dad is in the best place for him and this is a huge relief for me!

The Cams Ridge Care Home has been caring for my grandad for some time now and I always give praise when the care home comes up in conversation. The staff are very professional and always welcoming when we visit as well as updating regularly in between visits. My grandad has been made to feel as comfortable
as possible during his time at the care home and any decisions made are always with my grandad's health and well-being as the number one priority. As a family, we would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for a personal and caring touch as well as being efficient and effective in what they do at the Cams Ridge.

My mum has lived at Cams Ridge for over two years and I am very grateful for all the care and affection she receives. She seems to have been well supported during this lockdown phase and there currently are no Covid cases here, which is testament to the staff teams hard work and infection control procedures.
I
do not usually write reviews but I am just so appreciative of all the staff who have kept her safe, and as well as meeting her needs, have provided invaluable emotional support despite working extra hours and increased workloads.
So thank you everyone and I have no reservations in recommending Cams Ridge to anyone and I hope the CQC award this care home with some outstanding scores!

My best friend is currently being cared for in Cams Ridge since December 2019. I cannot praise the staff highly enough, especially under the current situation. In my opinion, it is not just a job for them; they are all very special people and deserve the highest praise possible. Unfortunately, over
the last few years, I have had cause to visit a few care homes in different parts of the country, if I ever need to go into care, I can think of no better place to go. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody at Cams for everything they do.

When I arrived at Cams Ridge I was immediately impressed by the friendly welcome and facilities. Following a good lunch, I was taken by wheelchair to a nice en-suite bedroom with TV and shown how to use the call buzzer to alert care staff of any personal needs that I may have. Indeed, during my time
here the staff were superb and prompt in attending day and night to any problems experienced. Nursing care, kitchen, maintenance staff are a well-managed team that has aided my recovery. Thank you.

Mum's care here from July to October 2019 was amazing. Every level and member of staff we ever dealt with were kind, loving and considerate. They really made those final months fun, enjoyable and interesting for mum, and bearable for myself and the family. I cannot recommend Cams Ridge highly enough
to anyone who may be looking for a home from home and worried about the future (either for themselves or a loved one). The place was spotiessly clean, has an amazing menu of lovely food, and staff who have obviously been selected because they care. Having used other places for respite care I only wish we had known how good Cams Ridge was earlier. They take away all your worries and look after them on your behalf. I cannot thank them all enough for the sensitivity and humanity they use in elderly care.

Excellent Nursing Care Home - The Nursing Staff listen and are proactive day and night, care staff (senior and junior) are very approachable - there are 2 activities coordinators who are both very active in their role and encourage but also respect if a resident does not want to join in ...lots of activities
put on throughout the year.
The housekeeping, administration, kitchen staff and chefs are also very friendly and hard working.
A great home that I can honestly trust to look after my mum.

From first entering the home you are welcomed by smiling and caring staff. The home immediately gives the impression of being warm and a place of safe, caring and friendly staff. The place is bright and clean and has a large, south facing garden ideal for getting my nearest and dearest out for fresh
air. The rooms are large and light and airy. The staff go out of their way to help and assist. The nursing staff are first class, knowledgeable yet open for discussion. All in all my wife was in another home for 4 years, but knowing what I now know I should have moved her earlier.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.667)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.667) out of 10 for Cams Ridge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 22 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.667 for Cams Ridge is calculated as follows: ( (181 Excellents x 5) + (73 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 261 Ratings = 4.667
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cams Ridge is based on 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10, which has been reached with 22 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
