From day one, the team provided compassionate and dignified care. Dealing with my gran's complex needs and fussiness when it came to food (I'm not sure there is any ice cream left!) We will always be grateful for the care provided at Cams Ridge Care Home.

My mother was reluctant to come to a care home but after a few days, she realised it was a good move. She is very happy and content, well cared for and is full of praise for all the staff.

On each of our visits to my mother, we have found all the staff very pleasant and helpful.

I am in under CHC, I wouldn't be happy having to pay £1,200 a week, at least for the room I am in.

My mother has now been at Cams Ridge for at least 6 months. Unfortunately, because of COVID, visiting has been at a minimum and the family have been unable to gain proper insight as to the running of the Home. However, although my mother took a while to settle in, she has only good words for the staff that look after her and the Home in general.

I would like to commend, in particular the activities staff, who have been our main contact and who have always been helpful and accommodating, especially regarding video links with my mother. I would like to show our grateful thanks to one member of staff in particular who chose to attend the Home on her day off to set up a video link with the family, and in our presence help mum open her presents on her 95th birthday. Above and beyond the call of duty.

Lovely clean home, something you notice at once smells nice. Carers are all very friendly and efficient nothing is too much trouble, especially at the moment with the lockdown. I visit my husband in the garden, lovely to see him even though I can't give him a cuddle.

Mum has been a resident since January 2020 and overall seems happy. Unfortunately, she suffers with Parkinson's and dementia which makes for more confusion at this awful time.
We have managed ‘window visits’, luckily as Mum is on the ground floor: waving and talking as best is possible, we find that this is better than no contact at all and are pleased we can do it.

The activity team organising the garden visits are cheery and helpful, again at this difficult time. They also manage to make FaceTime calls with Mum to us which hopefully make her feel less lonely.

Was invited to see my mum for an hour during the lockdown, was happy with the safety measures put in place and felt quite at ease being there with her. The staff were very careful and made sure that she was comfortable in the garden and at the required distance away from me. It was lovely to see her looking well after so long.

At this difficult time of the coronavirus, I think the staff have all coped extremely well and efficiently. The resident must be very confused as to why they can't see their loved ones, and in some eases go out for the day. The staff have been very kind to them all and even arranged for me to meet up with my husband in the garden - keeping within the guidelines. Thank you.

The care my dad receives from Cams Ridge is excellent. All of the staff from management to carers and the nursing team are excellent. It is a home from home. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Alongside the care Dad receives, we also receive a friendly welcome when visiting. Visiting is restricted currently due to Covid-19 but we have regular FaceTime chats and updates. I feel confident that Dad is in the best place for him and this is a huge relief for me!

Meet the Team (1)

Marie Toledo
Marie ToledoJob Title Manager

Marie Toledo is the Registered Manager of Cams Ridge Care and Nursing Home. He career in care has been shaped by compassion, respect and a deep commitment to making every resident feel safe, heard and valued.

My journey in care began many years ago when I worked as a nurse in my home country. From the very beginning, I found great fulfilment in caring for others, especially supporting people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. When I came to the UK, I knew I wanted to continue that same sense of purpose. Care felt like a natural path because the values of Cams Ridge — compassion, respect, dignity and person-centred care — truly align with my own.

Before joining Cams Ridge in 2022, I worked as a manager in three different care homes. I became a manager in 2018, and in my first leadership role I was proud to be part of a team that improved the home’s rating from Requires Improvement to Good, achieving its first Good rating. That experience strengthened my belief in strong leadership, teamwork and always putting people first.

What continues to inspire me every day is seeing the smiles on our residents’ faces. I have always believed that people may not remember your name, but they will remember how you made them feel and the impact you had on their lives.

What I love most is the daily interaction with our residents — talking with them, listening to their stories and simply spending time together.

Sometimes a 30-minute walk around the home can turn into two hours because I stop to chat with residents and make sure they are happy and well. Those moments remind me that care is not just about completing tasks; it is about building relationships, creating connections and making people feel valued.

To me, quality care is about making a positive difference in someone’s life. It means treating every resident as an individual, respecting their dignity and choices, listening to what matters to them, and helping them feel safe, valued and cared for. It is often the simple things that make the biggest impact — a smile, a conversation, or taking the time to truly listen.

When families come to Cams Ridge, we want them to feel welcomed, listened to and reassured from the very beginning. They are trusting us with someone they love, and that is a responsibility we never take lightly. We want every family to feel confident that their loved one is in caring, compassionate and capable hands.
