The Cams Ridge Care Home has been caring for my grandad for some time now and I always give praise when the care home comes up in conversation. The staff are very professional and always welcoming when we visit as well as updating regularly in between visits. My grandad has been made to feel as comfortable as possible during his time at the care home and any decisions made are always with my grandad's health and well-being as the number one priority. As a family, we would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for a personal and caring touch as well as being efficient and effective in what they do at the Cams Ridge.

My mum has lived at Cams Ridge for over two years and I am very grateful for all the care and affection she receives. She seems to have been well supported during this lockdown phase and there currently are no Covid cases here, which is testament to the staff teams hard work and infection control procedures.
I do not usually write reviews but I am just so appreciative of all the staff who have kept her safe, and as well as meeting her needs, have provided invaluable emotional support despite working extra hours and increased workloads.

So thank you everyone and I have no reservations in recommending Cams Ridge to anyone and I hope the CQC award this care home with some outstanding scores!

My best friend is currently being cared for in Cams Ridge since December 2019. I cannot praise the staff highly enough, especially under the current situation. In my opinion, it is not just a job for them; they are all very special people and deserve the highest praise possible. Unfortunately, over the last few years, I have had cause to visit a few care homes in different parts of the country, if I ever need to go into care, I can think of no better place to go. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody at Cams for everything they do.

When I arrived at Cams Ridge I was immediately impressed by the friendly welcome and facilities. Following a good lunch, I was taken by wheelchair to a nice en-suite bedroom with TV and shown how to use the call buzzer to alert care staff of any personal needs that I may have. Indeed, during my time here the staff were superb and prompt in attending day and night to any problems experienced. Nursing care, kitchen, maintenance staff are a well-managed team that has aided my recovery. Thank you.

Mum's care here from July to October 2019 was amazing. Every level and member of staff we ever dealt with were kind, loving and considerate. They really made those final months fun, enjoyable and interesting for mum, and bearable for myself and the family. I cannot recommend Cams Ridge highly enough to anyone who may be looking for a home from home and worried about the future (either for themselves or a loved one). The place was spotiessly clean, has an amazing menu of lovely food, and staff who have obviously been selected because they care. Having used other places for respite care I only wish we had known how good Cams Ridge was earlier. They take away all your worries and look after them on your behalf. I cannot thank them all enough for the sensitivity and humanity they use in elderly care.

Excellent Nursing Care Home - The Nursing Staff listen and are proactive day and night, care staff (senior and junior) are very approachable - there are 2 activities coordinators who are both very active in their role and encourage but also respect if a resident does not want to join in ...lots of activities put on throughout the year.
The housekeeping, administration, kitchen staff and chefs are also very friendly and hard working.

A great home that I can honestly trust to look after my mum.

From first entering the home you are welcomed by smiling and caring staff. The home immediately gives the impression of being warm and a place of safe, caring and friendly staff. The place is bright and clean and has a large, south facing garden ideal for getting my nearest and dearest out for fresh air. The rooms are large and light and airy. The staff go out of their way to help and assist. The nursing staff are first class, knowledgeable yet open for discussion. All in all my wife was in another home for 4 years, but knowing what I now know I should have moved her earlier.

The care that my father-in-law has received over the past 5 months has been second to none. The home is beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean and a real home from home. Likewise, we cannot thank the staff enough for their exemplary service and genuine caring attitude.

Thank you.

My husband has been in the home for a year and in that year, the care and attention he has received is fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble. He has to be turned every 2 hours and when that is always done he can become agitated, however, they calm him down by talking and explaining what they are doing. Food is good also with a good variety and the entertainment has just started up again.

I am very pleased with the level of care my nan received at the home. All of the staff, from housekeeping, admin and nurses are very kind and can not do enough to make you feel welcome.

The activities staff are doing a tremendous job at organising a full range of activities and events, which has kept my nan's mind active.

Meet the Team (1)

Marie Toledo
Marie ToledoJob Title Manager

Marie Toledo is the Registered Manager of Cams Ridge Care and Nursing Home. He career in care has been shaped by compassion, respect and a deep commitment to making every resident feel safe, heard and valued.

My journey in care began many years ago when I worked as a nurse in my home country. From the very beginning, I found great fulfilment in caring for others, especially supporting people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. When I came to the UK, I knew I wanted to continue that same sense of purpose. Care felt like a natural path because the values of Cams Ridge — compassion, respect, dignity and person-centred care — truly align with my own.

Before joining Cams Ridge in 2022, I worked as a manager in three different care homes. I became a manager in 2018, and in my first leadership role I was proud to be part of a team that improved the home’s rating from Requires Improvement to Good, achieving its first Good rating. That experience strengthened my belief in strong leadership, teamwork and always putting people first.

What continues to inspire me every day is seeing the smiles on our residents’ faces. I have always believed that people may not remember your name, but they will remember how you made them feel and the impact you had on their lives.

What I love most is the daily interaction with our residents — talking with them, listening to their stories and simply spending time together.

Sometimes a 30-minute walk around the home can turn into two hours because I stop to chat with residents and make sure they are happy and well. Those moments remind me that care is not just about completing tasks; it is about building relationships, creating connections and making people feel valued.

To me, quality care is about making a positive difference in someone’s life. It means treating every resident as an individual, respecting their dignity and choices, listening to what matters to them, and helping them feel safe, valued and cared for. It is often the simple things that make the biggest impact — a smile, a conversation, or taking the time to truly listen.

When families come to Cams Ridge, we want them to feel welcomed, listened to and reassured from the very beginning. They are trusting us with someone they love, and that is a responsibility we never take lightly. We want every family to feel confident that their loved one is in caring, compassionate and capable hands.
