A minor concern with communication between the various areas of care and maintenance. Weekends are of course difficult with lower levels of care but residents needs remain the same.

My mother moved to St George's Nursing Home in July 2018 after four and a half months in a hospital. She was adamant she did not want to go into a nursing home but settled well and quickly changed her opinion. The staff were warm and friendly, caring and respectful. She deteriorated and the home were exceptional in their support and care of her and us as a family. Contact was regular and her end was peaceful due entirely to the outstanding staff at St George's Nursing Home.

St George's provides extremely good care. The staff are always attentive and kind to residents and friendly and responsive to the concerns of families.

Even though my mother no longer has capacity, the staff are always respectful, kind and gentle. There is a lovely atmosphere and it is as much like home as it is possible for a nursing home to be.

St George's home does an excellent job of looking after my mother as she is not easy to deal with.

They have been extremely patient with her and very kind despite her sometimes being very difficult.

On arrival, there is always a calm, pleasant atmosphere.
The receptionist is welcoming and staff helpful and caring.

The activity carers, in particular, are so good with the residents and seem to actively enjoy looking after the residents. I feel very assured my mother is being well cared for.

My mother went to St George's Nursing Home as emergency respite. We cannot fault the admission procedure, care, nursing and activities staff, all of whom made mum and her family very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble excellent standards of cleanliness and care. Thank you for making a difficult time so much easier for the family.

Mum stayed in St George's for 3 weeks on respite care and has said she would be very happy to stay there again.

The staff were very friendly and looked after mum with great care. She was encouraged to join in with activities but never pushed. Catering was excellent. Mum was very comfortable in her en-suite room and said the stay did her the world of good.

I am seriously disabled and came here in July 2016 with a variety of sores (a dozen in all), all of which have now healed but that on my sacrum is vulnerable since much of my time I'm sitting on it! I'm therefore obliged to go to bed earlier than I'd like, 17.30pm!

I can't call it home but have to acclimatise to living in such a place as this, and as such, am relieved to be in such a good establishment. But costly at £5500 per month and not when woken at 5 am on consecutive mornings to be turned.

Reply from Tilla Wagner, Registered Manager at St George's Nursing Home

We are very pleased that your skin has healed so well and that although you cannot call this home we are honoured to have you with us. We like to think we work hard at making St George's as homely as possible within a nursing environment. Thank you for taking the time to complete this review.

My mother has been a resident of St George's for five years. She has been extremely well looked after and is very happy. The whole team create a feeling and ethic that St George's in my mothers home and that they are there to look after her. She particularly likes the activities, which are both imaginative and creative, full credit to the activities team. It is so important that the elderly and frail have a daily purpose.

Staff in reception and the finance office are helpful and efficient at all times. Deputy matron excellent, only sour note, new nurses will not give their names.

Reply from Tilla Wagner, Registered Manager at St George's Nursing Home

It is so nice to read that your Mother is being well cared for in St George's. Our aim is to always ensure the resident's needs are met both on a nursing level and on an individual level. I will look into why new nurses do not give their names! Thank you for taking the time to complete the review.

My mother spent six months in St George's and passed away there aged 94. She received the very best of care, both medically and for her as a person. The activities team were wonderful with her as were the nursing and care team. She looked at St George's as her home.
The staff were also very understanding of my needs as a relative. A wonderful place, always spotlessly clean and a happy environment that I visited every day.

Thank you, St George's for all you did.

I have always been more than happy with the care my mother has received at St George's. She is very happy and settled there and I am confident that the staff have her best interests at heart and allow her to be as independent as she can be in a safe and secure environment.

For me, this gives great peace of mind that I have done the best for her too.
