Gorseway Park Retirement Village has beautiful nursing and residential homes, located opposite the beachfront.

It is finished and furnished to a high standard offering a homely yet first class spacious environment with plentiful landscaped gardens and a large pond featuring Koi carp.

Lovely surroundings and nice views. Good, friendly and helpful staff. Food is very nice. Comfortable lounges and dining room. I enjoy the activities during the day and mixing with other residents.

Since the new manager has been working at Gorseway in the last few months you certainly see a marked improvement in the running of the home. The atmosphere feels much better amongst the staff, but it would be good to see more permanent staff, than using agency workers. When you arrive in reception you
are always welcomed by the lovely receptionist. My friend always looks clean, comfortable and well looked after. Her meals are always hot and fed to her with care and attention. Iw ould be happy to recommend Gorseway Care. Also, the nurses are always happy to discuss any queries you may have. Also, they contact me at home if they think necessary.

My Aunt always appears to be relaxed in her room. The room is clean and tidy. My Aunt always appears clean and well cared for and reports to me that the staff are all nice. I have always been able to speak to the staff easily and have found them to be very friendly and appear to know my Aunt and
understand her very well. My Aunt does not eat much but this is her own choice.

The full time staff are very helpful and caring, however when agency staff are used, they are not aware of the history of the particular resident, and not as caring, can be abrupt. There also appears to be not a very good handover from agency staff and when staff return from leave. Also when the staff
have a strong foreign accent, the older age people this can cause a problem with communication.

Please note that due to the stringent checks that care staff are subject to - interview to employment can take a little time. I am sorry that you feel that an agency member of staff was abrupt. In the future please inform me immediately and they will be asked to answer for their rudeness. This is also fed back to the agency.

My husband went to Gorseway 8 years ago and I have to say the care and attention he is getting has improved immensely since Barchester care took over the Gorseway. The staff are all very good. The leisure and entertainment department and the young lady in care also very good. Of course there are times
when I have to mention something is not as it should be, but it is always put right and the problem is solved. So I am very happy to have my husband being cared for at Gorseway Hayling Island.

My grandmother received wonderful care at the Lodge by the lovely staff at Gorseway. It made a difficult time for her family easier, to see her treated so respectfully and with such dignity. I would recommend the Lodge to anyone looking for a loving and caring home.

I would like to start by thanking all the wonderful staff at the Lodge who looked after my mother during the last week of her life. Not only was she treated with kindness, dignity, care and respect, we her family were also shown the same consideration. Nothing was ever too much trouble. I would not
hesitate to recommend the Lodge to anyone looking for nursing care for a relative. All the staff gave care which went far beyond their duty. Thank you.

The staff at Gorseway Lodge are amazing people, we could not have asked for better care for our Mother. She was treated with kindness, respect and dignity by everyone - the nursing staff, carers, domestic staff and the managers. Our family were made to feel welcome at all times and they were as concerned
for our welfare as hers. We felt that our mum was the only person they had to think about. I can't recommend them highly enough.

I have a very pleasant, comfortable room, and am very well looked after by excellent staff.
The recent (last two years) management upheaval causes me a level of uncertainty and worry. The meals are repetitious and the preparation can be unimaginative. If the management could be stabilised and the cuisine
improved, this could be the ideal care home.

I attend activities in the lodge on a regular basis. Excellent activities. The staff are very caring and considerate and treat us with dignity. They are constantly checking on us to make sure we are comfortable and have every thing we need. Always pleasant and patient too.

I live in one of the individual living independent flats in Gorseway. I use the facilities and enjoy the lunches. The entertainments are varied and very enjoyable and the arranger of these is kind and she is loved by all well respected for her care.
