I have found the staff at Langdale amazing for all the care and support they give and the comment to all who reside there. I don't know what I would do without them looking after my son like they do. He is so happy there and says they are like having a second family.

Having looked at several nursing homes in the area for my elderly mother, Langsdale Nursing Home was in my opinion a cut above the rest - although others were very good. I was impressed by the way it was run and by the outstanding attitude of all the staff who genuinely looked after their residents
as if they were their own family. I was so pleased they had a vacancy.

My friend has settled extremely well at Langdale. His all-round experience, so far, has been very good indeed. He frequently comments on the quality and variety of the food. As a long time friend, I now have peace of mind knowing that he is getting round the clock efficient and caring attention.

Very happy with mum's care over the past seventeen years. All her needs are provided for. Staff are very caring helping mum in the best possible way, they have patience with mum when she's having a bad day. Mum has her hair and footcare done regularly. Just happy in general with everything Landale Nursing
Home does for mum.

Mum is looked after very well. All her needs are provided for. The staff are very caring, patient and do all they can for her to make her comfortable. Mum had been very poorly with a chest infection that turned into pneumonia, then covid over a span of thirty-four months. Amazingly through the care
mum deceived she pulled through.

I have been here since November 2021. The staff are marvelous can't do enough for you and their girls work hard.
As for the food not much variety.
Always warm or cold.
Reply from BETHNEY KELLY, Partner at Langdale Nursing HomeThank you for your comments which has been passed on to our care and catering teams. I am sorry that you feel there is no variety in our six weekly menus and I am very happy to discuss this further with you. I have already met with the catering supervisor to discuss the way forward with regard to the temperature of the meals served.

Dad has been a resident at Langdale since April 2020. Due to the Covid pandemic, the visiting of residents has quite rightly been restricted so my review reflects that restriction. Dad seems very happy at Langdale with the level of care continuing to be excellent. I particularly note Dad's 100th birthday
celebrations and I pay tribute to the staff who exceeded my expectations in ensuring the day was a very special occasion for all the family to remember. I’m looking forward to better times with the lifting of Covid restrictions.

It was our pleasure to arrange the celebrations for your father's 100th birthday, especially as he served in the RAF as a bomber pilot during WW2, we are all grateful for his service to our country.

My dad moved here in January. He has been very happy there and received the care he needs. Any problems (small ones) have been dealt with quickly. The staff communicate with me when necessary. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to visit inside but hopefully can
do this soon. I can not give the rooms a rating. Visiting arrangements are well organised. I had reason to talk to the owner about a training issue with staff and this was dealt with sympathetic ally and quickly.
Reply from Bethney Kelly, Partner at Langdale Nursing HomeThank you for your positive feedback on our service which I will cascade to the team. For your information we are now conducting close contact visits indoors in a dedicated room and appointments can be made with the activities team in the normal manner.

Due to Covid, I've been unable to visit inside Langdale. However, the care my father has received has been of a very high standard. Langdale has allowed visits that abide totally by Covid guidelines so all parties feel safe and secure. Dad is happy and his needs are met. There is good contact between
Langdale and myself, so I am kept up to date on any information as necessary. Staff I've met are cheerful and happy and I look forward to visiting as normal when possible.

I found the home to be very clean, friendly and welcoming. The residents are mixed capacity and I think that they are given opportunity to do more than sit and watch television. I found that the care is very personal, caring and hands-on. They are always available to talk about my relative should I
have any questions.

Over almost four years, all at Langdale have always gone the extra mile to provide what can only be described as the very best of attention in sometimes challenging circumstances. I have no hesitation in saying that all aspects of the care given is head and shoulders above previous experience of so-called
premium providers. Congratulations to every single one of a very dedicated team.

My husband is very happy and settled at Langdale Nursing Home.
The staff are very dedicated. His nursing care is second to none, and he is always treated with kindness and a great deal of tolerance for his condition (Parkinson's).
The standard of cleanliness is very good and residents have fresh clean
clothes every day.
Also, I like the way his alarm buzzer is always answered promptly.

Langdale have excelled themselves over the last 24 months in all aspects. I can only praise ALL whom work at Langdale. We are looking forward to being able to look at the daily carers comments when they are electronically available to us, this transparency "oozes" nothing but confidence about Langdale.
Once again thank you and well done.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.229)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.229) out of 10 for Langdale Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 11 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.454 for Langdale Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (76 Excellents x 5) + (39 Goods x 4) + (13 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 130 Ratings = 4.454
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.775 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Langdale Nursing Home is based on 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 = 3.775
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 39 registered maximum number of service users is 7.8, which has been reached with 11 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
