In summer they are encouraged to sit in the garden in a shaded spot where simple games are played. Recently, this month, I have witnessed the gentleness and tenderness of patients in the final stage of life. The ratio of staff to patients is very good and the whole home is immaculately clean.
I came to visit my mother yesterday evening- my mother was happy she had eaten (been fed her tea) she was clean and relaxed - you cannot ask for anything else- really pleased with how my mother has come on.
Mum has been at Langdale for nearly 2 years now. She has been treated with love and dignity from day one. I cannot praise the staff enough. The activities at Langdale are really good and in the summer months there are beautiful gardens for the residents to enjoy.
Because I am younger, I prefer activities on a one to one basis our garden therapists supports me with board games and computer, I would like Wifi in my room but I can get it in the lounge. The garden therapist takes me shopping when I need clothes or shopping and recently he too me to the cinema and that was very nice. I like my food and Langdale has made every effort to facilitate me changing meal times to suit me when I have visitors. I would like more privacy I do not like staff contributing to my conversations with relatives but I do not mind them listening, my visitors are here to see my not them. My rooms is good as it allows me to move freely on my disability scooter. I have had several concerns which have been dealt with by the management punctually.
Kind, caring staff, clean and friendly.
Following a major stroke my husband spent the last 2 years of his life at Langdale. He was happy there and I cannot fault the care and attention given to him. The end of life care given to him in his final days was excellent, their care extended to the family too, welcoming us at anytime of day or night, and supporting us through the difficult times. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and the rooms and gardens are maintained to the highest standard. I have no hesitation in recommending Langdale to anyone.
Finding a good care home in which you trust to place your relative is a very stressful experience. Thankfully Langdale Nursing Home is a care home in which I have the utmost faith and know that the care they give my dad is excellent. My dad is very happy and content at Langdale Nursing Home. He is well looked after, fed wonderful wholesome food, always clean. There is entertainment and activities for him to join in with if he so wishes. Residents are treated with respect and dignity and the staff are very caring, both medically and pastorally. The ambience is one of a large family, not of a clinical institution. Visitors are always made to feel welcome and included. I would highly recommend Langdale Nursing Home.
Most of them are friendly and helpful. Langdale is a very nice environment to be in. The activities are very good.
My husband uses Langdale for respite breaks for me. He is bed bound (massive stroke) and cannot speak a single word. The staff are very very nice and caring - but nice to each other (which we do not always have in domiciliary care). The same staff have been there for a long time which proves management are getting it right (again not like domiciliary). Room and home is very clean, I cannot fault it in any way.
Mum was here in 2013 and was very happy, thinking she was in a hotel. She was cared for very well and when Dad visited, they treated him very well too. So when it was time for him to go into a home, Langdale was our first choice, he is very happy and content, therefore we are happy too.
My wife has been in Langdale 10 years this October 5th 2015. We have been looked after, fantastic in every way and we recommend Langdale Nursing Home to anyone who is in need to go in a nursing home.
Very helpful, friendly, cheerful, nothing too much trouble.
Both my parents have spent their last years with the staff at the Langdale Nursing home and were treated with the utmost dignity and care, nothing was too much trouble for them and they had no end of patience. I couldn't of managed without them. They were also very supportive when the end came. I can't praise them enough.
My nan came into the home for end of life care and we couldn't have found a better home, All staff were fantastic and caring and did their all to make her comfortable, highly recommended, the activities were fantastic and the home was very clean and efficiently run.
