When you walk in you get a good sense of a welcoming environment. Every one is smiling and the place was totally clean. The staff are very helpful and they pointed me exactly where I needed to go to my friend there!

I have had health problems during the past month which has been treated with speed and dignity and continues to improve. I was able to enjoy the summer Fete as well. Thanks to the nurses and the care team.

Continual feeling of unease, never seem to get proper answers to my questions. Food has deteriorated with dry or undercooked potatoes. Never get what I ordered with answers that avoid the issue at both lunch and dinner. Breakfast is the only meal I can rely on and then I have to ask for correct cutlery to manage it . The equipment is always breaking down when I am in it therefore causing pain. I find it difficult on visits from family to talk to them as I don't want to upset them. I Feel uncomfortable and unsafe. I notice I am not the only one from reviewes. Nights are particularly tricky as carers act in a peculiar way, usually only manage 2/3 hours sleep.
We are sorry to hear about your concerns. Our management team are aware of this situation and are due to have a meeting with both yourself and your family to discuss this further as we do try to continually improve our service
I would be happier if all staff were instructed in the art of basic dressing. On several occasions, weekdays as well as weekends, I have arrived to find my husband with no socks on! Just slippers rubbing on his ingrown toenails! Also, a cardigan or jumper and no t-shirt! I understand all staff are very busy - but when he's unable to dress himself because of his condition, it's vital he's at least dressed properly.
Thank you for your feedback. We will discuss your concerns about your Husband not being dressed correctly with the home's manager to help them improve their service.
They give excellent service and good leadership from the management team. The home manager is also excellent and very polite. As we had visited one of our friends' relative and saw that they really have a good service team. Thank you

The staff are very sympathetic to my situation and failings. They treat me with dignity and are helpful with my problems. The activities are very good but the staff responsible are sometimes under stress as their workload is increased. The carers appear to be stressed as rushing from one job to another, no time to chat etc. I feel safe and cared for. I am still waiting for chair.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. Thank you for recognizing the care and dedication of our team, we are pleased to hear that you feel cared for. We have a genuine regard for all our staff and residents. We will discuss your feedback with the home's manager to help them continually improve their service.
Evening handover time is a problem as not enough staff on duty.
Difficulty to get into the home in the evenings.

My experience with Maypole has been positive. The staff are attentive, compassionate and always take time to ensure resident (my father) are comfortable and cared for. My dad has vascular dementia and he's losing the ability to communicate. So it really depends on the care that Maypole provides. I always find my dad is fresh and clean, context and he seems to setting down here in Maypole well. The only downside is that the relative gateway stopped available to family since Nov 2024 so we cannot look at care note while I'm away from my dad. I used to look at the carer's note everyday, so I know what my dad has been done everyday.
Thank you for your kind words. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. We will discuss your feedback with the home's manager regarding the Gateway app to help them continually improve their service.
Very friendly staff. Have only been here for three weeks but still waiting for the chiropodist to visit, my feet and toe nails need seeing to.

I have just spent seven good days in respite care at Maypole Care Home, where my son is also a resident. Staff/ residents relationships are excellent - always a greeting by name, cheery would of encouragement and a willingness to help. A series of activities was sociable and creative, musical and memory testing ways. A choice of good food was always available.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is always nice to hear from family members and former residents feeling like they enjoyed their stay and that their loved one is cared for and looked after. We hope to continue providing your son with the best possible care and hank you for choosing Maypole for your stay.
All the staff are very caring and bring a happy energy to their clients . I really appreciate the fact that they are respectful around my brothers needs .When I am not able to visit him one of the carers takes a phone to him( because he is blind ) and this gives us a chance to catch up . He recently had a birthday and the staff all made it a special day -with a cake from the chef . These touches of kindness and consideration mean so much to him and me .Thanks to all the staff who look after him!
Thank you for your kind review. It is always wonderful to hear words like "Caring" and "Respectful" being used to describe our staff. It is lovely to hear that your Brother's birthday was so special and we are pleased to hear that you can feel at ease with him in our care. I would give the care home 40%. Carers are not very helpful. Take forever to answer the buzzer. I've had to change bedding as staff have been asked but they say will come back but don't. I've seen them walk by when the buzzer is going. I have had a chat with the manager but nothing has changed.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. We have a genuine regard for all of our residents, so we will discuss your feedback with the home's manager and they will be in touch.

The staff member was very warm and welcoming. He went to great lengths to make me comfortable. The room requires an update as does the bathroom. The shower is good but needs a seat in it. The carers are all excellent.

My mother has enjoyed her respite stay at Maypole Care Home, despite the language barrier. All staff were very kind and helpful, lovely. The food was delicious! The activities were very good, even if the language barrier was a problem. Very good facilities too. Lovely and spacious room.

However, they all work incredibly hard and always try their best. The home is lean and tidy, but a little run down and outdated. Although, it's clear to see improvements happening all the time.

Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your loved ones stay as comfortable as possible, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
