The Maypole Care Home provides nursing and residential care. Their highly skilled nurses, carers and ancillary staff create a welcoming and homely environment, promoting independence and quality of life.

The home is purpose-built with spacious and comfortable lounges, enabling residents to relax and spend time with family and friends. Every bedroom has en suite facilities, a television, telephone point and Wi-Fi, while some offer views of the gardens. Residents are encouraged to accessorise their rooms to their own personal tastes.

Tasty and nutritious meals are created every day by the in-house chef who really gets to know and understand the residents’ preference and specific dietary requirements. In the evenings and overnight, snacks and refreshments are available from a Night Bites menu.

A varied programme of activities and events ensures that residents remain active and stimulated. Residents are also encouraged and supported to develop and maintain interests and social networks in the local community.

My father has been at Maypole during the coronavirus. Despite the huge challenges; the management staff have shown great kindness to our family. Residents have been their priority, and we are very grateful.
My thanks to the wonderful activity co-ordinators who have entertained Dad with books, games
and gardening, and who always have time to chat with him about current news and also his past life which he loves.
All the nurses are very caring, and Dad always looks so well cared for and happy. He has a spacious bedroom, which he has personalised and a scenic courtyard view.
Dad is a diabetic and praises the catering staff who provide such tasty meals and do their best to cater to request and chat to him in the dining room.
Dad really enjoys sitting and walking in the garden where the staff will make him a hot drink, so it feels as if they are always looking for ways to make his stay more comfortable.
Dad has a terminal illness, and the staff have made great efforts to reassure him that he will not have any pain and alleviate his worries as he faces these final days. Thank you to them.

During a period of lockdown, it was difficult to assess activities as there were limited opportunities. Although I did see a sheet detailing what was available. Everything else was excellent and everybody I talked to was sympathetic and helpful. Thank you

All the decisions taken have been sensible and in my mind, correct. I have been well looked after, good food, the help I have asked for has been given on every occasion and all the staff have been helpful and kind on all occasions. My thanks to all the nurses and the activities team.

The Maypole is a wonderful care home. The staff and carers are excellent. My mum is treated very well and the friendly professionalism of all makes it a very happy place for the residents. The activities team are fantastic, between them, the activities that are arranged are brilliant and I know not
only mum but all the residents extremely enjoy and look forward to the great variety of entertainment they put on.

A lovely care home, caring staff and entertainment team and reception ladies. The entertainment ladies have a lovely way with the residents and there are too many to mention. The catering team are wonderful bunch, as well as housekeeping. One of the bosses is a great guy. Nothing is too much trouble.
The only fault is the buzzer takes ages for anyone to come.

All of our family would like to thank all of the staff at Maypole Care Home for looking after Mum in her last few weeks. Having spent many months in hospital, she went to the Maypole for just over a month before passing away. During her last few days, when we had a lot of relatives around, nothing was
too much trouble for the staff and despite being busy, they found the time to make sure relatives were well looked after and had private space when needed.

I am so glad we chose this home for Mum. Having seen other homes in action over the years, with staff who are too busy to care enough, none of our relatives had anything negative to say about the Maypole. The management team may well take credit for this but honestly, the staff are the stars here, whether they are nurses, carers, cleaners or handymen, they were all genuine, kind and dealt with us with dignity at all times.

The atmosphere at Maypole Care Home is loving and compassionate. All the staff, carers, nurses, catering, laundry, cleaning, maintenance and admin really care and want to do a good job.
They became my mother's friends and my emotional and practical supporters. All the really important aspects are
in place, care, compassion, love and friendship. I know if something was upsetting mum people there would care and do their best to sort it out.

I’ve lived at the Maypole for two years. I enjoy living here, the staff are good and you can have a good laugh with them. There are lots of activities and I do some of them with other residents. There is a choice of two meals at each mealtime or you can have your own choice that the chef will cook for
you. I really like that I could make my room how I wanted it to be, like when I was living with my family. I have lots of football pictures up on my walls which make it feel like home.

Well below expectations for a particular group's home. Although staff were kind, caring and friendly, the staffing levels led to unacceptable delays in the provision of care. The food was bland and uninspiring and the cleaning regime was inconsistent and again below expectations.

We have been visiting our brother in this nursing home for seventeen years and could not think of a better nursing home for him to be in.
The care he has received from management past and present, right through to kitchen staff have all been brilliant. This shows when we see how comfortable he is.
