Mum moved into Alexandra Care Home in January 2018. She lives in the dementia care unit on the first floor. So far we have found it to be a well-run home and our family has always been made to feel welcome. Mum gets involved in all the afternoon activities most days which she enjoys and it provides her with some stimulation. During the nice weather the residents who are able to have been taken to the garden which is a nice change of scenery for them.

The only minor negative is that despite clothing, slippers and shoes being labelled, they seem to go missing.

Mum has only moved to the care home in the last few days but from what we've seen in those few days we've been very happy with. We feel things couldn't be better. The staff have all been very friendly and helpful and also very caring and respectful to mum.

We visited this home for my Mother in law's future care. The Manager was happy to show us around. He greeted both staff and residents along the way and knew them all by name. They certainly knew him too. He showed a genuine interest in both staff and residents. It was a very hot day and he checked that residents were drinking plenty of water. The Home is very clean, without a doubt the cleanest we have seen. The Home is appropriately decorated with nice touches. The tables were set for dinner in the dining room with wine glasses and serviettes. There is a cinema room with pictures of well-known actors displayed on the walls and a games room. The bedrooms were clean, nicely furnished and decorated to create a very homely atmosphere. Residents we met appeared to be relaxed and happy. This home had a good 'feel' about it and a relaxed atmosphere. I felt this was a happy 'home' where residents were cared for with great dignity. My mother would be in safe hands here.

My mother has only been at the home for a few days so far, but already there is a marked difference in her general behaviour. The staff seem very caring and have plenty of time for her. She has a nice homely room and the general atmosphere of the home is one of a big family. I can honestly say that I am very happy for mum to be looked after in such a lovely home. Mum is more animated and is eating well now.
