Not visiting my partner often it's hard to give a review. However, I find the single telephone line to Bluebell unit inadequate.

Although the care home lacks spacious ground and outside facilities this is more than made up for by the very caring staff and the friendly atmosphere that exists in the home. My mother has received very good medical attention when needed and necessary attention to her security as she is prone to falling. With her limited mental capabilities, she is always bright and interested in the people she's meeting and those around her. In the main, she seems to be content and happy.

Absolutely fantastic care home. The staff are so informative, and I haven't seen Dad look so good in months. We are kept up to date with his progress daily, and all the staff always go the extra mile. Would highly recommend.

Alexandra Care Home continues to give my husband excellent care both in terms of friendship and medical care. During this time of lockdown, all the staff have ensured that he has been able to see and keep in touch with me and our family through online video calls and garden and pod visits. We have all really appreciated their efforts. We owe them a big thank you.

Overall Experience

My dad moved into this care home in May 2018 after a short time in another care home. From our first enquiry at reception to his final hours, we were treated with the utmost respect and kindness. I can’t praise the staff enough. If there were any issues (and there weren’t many) they were dealt with immediately. Dad liked to watch sport on his television and the staff always made sure he was able to do that. I would often take him out for walks in Gadebridge Park or we would go into town for a coffee and the staff would always have him ready for me, nothing was too much trouble. He was very happy there and was always praising the staff. I feel so lucky that my dad got to spend the last 16 months of his life in this care home. Thank You so much.

My mother has been in the care of Alexandra Care Home since October 2018. I cannot commend the team more highly 10/10. Does not cover it. The care everyone shows, cooks, cleaners, nurses, care team, the administration is so professional.

But more than this, compassionate and extremely caring. The family are made most welcome offered tea/cake made to feel truly at home and we are informed about all our mother's welfare.

Our Mother has been at Alexandra Care Home since December with dementia. It was a very difficult time for her and her family at first, but she very soon settled in there, and once we knew she was happy, both myself and my sister could relax a little knowing that she was very well looked after. The staff are amazing, nothing is ever too much trouble for them, we can call in at any time to see her, and have even taken her into town in one of their wheelchairs. Her room is a good size and she has her own washroom and toilet too and is always kept clean and tidy. She was able to have her own recliner armchair and TV in her room and has also some of her own paintings on the wall and plenty of photo frames on the windowsill making it more homely for her. I can't thank the staff enough, I really appreciate all that they have done for our Mum.

Thank you.

The care my mum and our family have received has been amazing. The staff make it a home. They are wonderful and caring. They have been our family for two years, eight months. I will be going in for a cup of tea as I miss them all already.
My mum passed away in hospital on 19th October 2018.

The secretary was the reason I chose Alexandra House. Her warmth and love were evident on our very first meeting.

My husband has now been a resident at the home for over two years. I have been very happy that he has been left in kind, incredibly patient and caring hands. I am confident that the same standards are constant whether I am present or in my absence.

The laundry service never seems to be included in surveys, yet it is such a crucial part of the service. I think their valuable contribution should be recognised more by all of us.
