Alexandra Care Home

All staff are friendly, caring and always smiling. I feel my nan is safe and happy here. The staff have kept in touch through Covid and put my mind at ease. Hot meals could be better though.

The policy for Covid was explained clearly.

Not visiting my partner often it's hard to give a review. However, I find the single telephone line to Bluebell unit inadequate.

The staff are excellent. I would like to name names but I can't. Some excel at their job and put in extra effort.

Although the care home lacks spacious ground and outside facilities this is more than made up for by the very caring staff and the friendly atmosphere that exists in the home. My mother has received very good medical attention when needed and necessary attention to her security as she is prone to falling. With her limited mental capabilities, she is always bright and interested in the people she's meeting and those around her. In the main, she seems to be content and happy.

Absolutely fantastic care home. The staff are so informative, and I haven't seen Dad look so good in months. We are kept up to date with his progress daily, and all the staff always go the extra mile. Would highly recommend.

Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Very roomy, and my mum has really come out of her shell thanks to the support and the freedom to speak to other residents. Haven't seen her happier for years.

Alexandra Care Home continues to give my husband excellent care both in terms of friendship and medical care. During this time of lockdown, all the staff have ensured that he has been able to see and keep in touch with me and our family through online video calls and garden and pod visits. We have all really appreciated their efforts. We owe them a big thank you.

My dad moved into this care home in May 2018 after a short time in another care home. From our first enquiry at reception to his final hours, we were treated with the utmost respect and kindness. I can’t praise the staff enough. If there were any issues (and there weren’t many) they were dealt with immediately. Dad liked to watch sport on his television and the staff always made sure he was able to do that. I would often take him out for walks in Gadebridge Park or we would go into town for a coffee and the staff would always have him ready for me, nothing was too much trouble. He was very happy there and was always praising the staff. I feel so lucky that my dad got to spend the last 16 months of his life in this care home. Thank You so much.

But more than this, compassionate and extremely caring. The family are made most welcome offered tea/cake made to feel truly at home and we are informed about all our mother's welfare.

The secretary was the reason I chose Alexandra House. Her warmth and love were evident on our very first meeting.

The care staff are kind and friendly and the environment is welcoming and secure.

My husband has now been a resident at the home for over two years. I have been very happy that he has been left in kind, incredibly patient and caring hands. I am confident that the same standards are constant whether I am present or in my absence.

The laundry service never seems to be included in surveys, yet it is such a crucial part of the service. I think their valuable contribution should be recognised more by all of us.

From the first day when my relative came to the home, they have had nothing but good care and kindness shown by all the staff.

Tha management at present is good. An improvement over the 14 years my wife has been in the home.

Being new to using a care home (just three months) I found the whole experience difficult. My husband more so. We are getting to know people and joining in the activities which are first class. Good relations with staff and management.
