The carers are really helpful. One in particular, we always chat. The activities are always good, the activity team keep us busy.
We have a new hairdresser, she is nice too. Management sort out any problems that may occur. Also the dinners/lunches are great.

We would like to say our heartfelt thanks for the respect, care and love given to my dad during his time at Alexandra House. The devotion to the care given was amazing from all staff - from the management and office staff, the nursing and care staff, one member of staff in particular and her team for
making the days fun with lots of activities and socialisation right down to the lovely cleaning staff. We could not have asked for more.
When Dad moved into Alexandra we were worried how he would settle, but right from the word go he was made to feel welcome - part of a family - and I know he enjoyed his time with you and the way his finals days were made, the extra care and attention to Dad and us, as his family, was fantastic.

My father moved to Alexandra Care Home from hospital after treatment. We had no previous experience of care homes. His care has been so good, and he is so settled, we have decided to not move him to a home nearer us, but to travel further for visits so he can stay.

My sister was transferred to Alexandra Care Home from the hospital. The contrast between the two environments is striking. The care home environment and staff have without exception been informative, helpful and professional. I feel very comfortable having my sister in their care. Whilst this is always
a difficult time the home has made the transition as seamless as it could have been.

My friend, an elderly lady, has been in this home for about 3 years. I visit as often as I can. On each visit, she seems very happy, and nicely dressed and has never said anything bad about the home. All staff that I have met are very helpful and friendly. Many thanks to you all.

Thank you for taking care of my dad in his last couple of weeks. I had peace of mind knowing you took great care of him. The care home was lovely, as were the staff when he was in his last days. Not only did they look after him, they looked after us.

My husband's mother got transferred to Alexandra Care Home from hospital yesterday. We couldn't have had a better experience. Everyone was so welcoming, helpful, kind and considerate. My mother-in-law looked as settled, calm, content as she had done in weeks - it was such a relief to know she's safe
and well cared for. It's a fantastic team effort from the outset: carers, nurses, kitchen staff and management - everyone listened to understand her needs and were very responsive. We feel very reassured and grateful. Thank you so much.

At the end of May 2023, my 83 year old mother who suffered from advanced Parkinson's disease was taken in hospital. She was discharged from hospital to Alexandra Care Home towards the end of June 2023. Whilst a resident at Alexandra Care Home, my mother received excellent care from all the staff there,
who ensured that all her needs were met as well as making sure she was kept safe and comfortable. Sadly, my mother's condition deteriorated over the next couple of months, and she passed away whilst at the care home in the middle of August 2023. As my mother's condition worsened, the staff continued to ensure that she was cared for and treated with dignity right up until the end.

As Jehovah’s Witnesses, we regularly visit different care homes to meet with friends who have an interest in chatting about the Bible. The manager was very welcoming. She did the show around and was very kind and thorough.
When Mum went to the unit the staff were so kind and Mum was made so welcome. Activities displayed such kindness and Mum enjoyed all activities.
Nothing was too much trouble for the entire team. Mum enjoyed her
stay at Alexandra Care Home. We were made to feel like family, very welcoming.

Since my mother had left hospital and come to the care home, she has become a brighter person and very happy with the surroundings and care she is receiving. She seems to sleep better and feels safe and not lonely. She is very happy with mixing with other residents in the lounges. All in all, seems
a new life for her.

My mother was here after a fall and subsequent hospital discharge. In total, she was here for eighteen months before her passing away. She was bedbound for this time and unable to speak due to damage from fall.
She received very good care during her stay and I was contacted at any time required. Great
team and highly recommend.

My mum was transferred to Alexandra Care Home straight from the hospital to receive palliative care in the last week of her life.
Mum was in a very poorly state and we had been advised by the hospital that she would not be with us for much longer. The staff at Alexandra care home went out of their
way to arrange for Mum to be safely transferred to them.
She moved into her lovely decorated room, equipped with an air mattress to meet her needs. The staff were friendly, compassionate and welcoming.
Mum rallied for a couple of days eating and enjoying the food, she ate much more than she had in a long time.
Unfortunately, mums condition worsened and she passed away a week later but in the short time Mum was in the home she was kept clean, made to feel as comfortable as possible and pain-free. The final arrangements were handled efficiently and with care. I only wish my mother could have moved to Alexandra Care Home earlier. Thank you to all of the staff.

I found the home warm, welcoming and very friendly. On visiting my aunt for the first time, I could see she was being extremely well looked after by very attentive staff. She felt warm, protected and was very relaxed.

Julie started working at Alexander Care Home in 2012 previously working in various roles in care. She started in domestic, moved onto carer and senior carer, team leader and finally offered the role of the administrator in 2003.
She has professional qualification in Level 2 & 3 in Care.
Level 2 in Business Admin and completed train the trainer in phlebotomist, housekeeping, dementia.
Julie believes that to be good in her role she needs to be a good communicator and build relationships.
Her favourite part of her working day is not knowing what challenges face her and how sheI will resolve them, and reassuring families if distressed.
Outside of work Julie enjoy arts and crafts and reading. I am very family orientated so family time is very important to me, it is a big part of her life.
When asked 'what do you enjoy about working at Alexander she said 'I feel part of an excellent team and feel we all work well together and help each other problem-solve.'

Renata has worked at Alexander since 2012. Previously Renata worked as a RGN.
She feels you need to be competent, hard-working, have good communication skills and first aid training to be good in her role.
The favourite part of her working day is making the residents feel happy and comfortable after I’ve done my job.
Her biggest career highlight to date is when the families appreciate the hard work Nurses and the carers are doing.
Outside of work Renata enjoys shopping, coffee with my friends, family programs or just relaxing alone and writing.
The thing she most looks forward to is is working with my team in my unit and other units, we are all such a happy team!
