Overall Experience
Extremely satisfied overall, the care, the food, laundry, activities suitable for various residents and for my cousin's particular needs.
Activities include visitations from various churches to come and conduct church services and sing with residents regularly.

The home is generous in many ways to keep residents as comfortable as possible.

An enjoyable place to live. Management and services provided have improved a lot recently. All staff at Forest Care Village are welcoming and always having a good time. There are various communities in the home; kitchen, lifestyle, physio department and different units where residents with differing conditions live and are treated to improve their quality of life. The home is well situated, close to the busy Borehamwood high street with its array of different and interesting shops.

The village has been through a big change, in my opinion for the better. All staff are fantastic, lots of new management that are always there. Very reassuring. My dad enjoys the constant activities including the trips. Feel confident he is well looked after.

Our mother was nursed here for End of Life. The staff treated us as family. They respected both ours and our mother's wishes and we can only thank them for this. Everybody went out of their way to ensure we have ALL looked after. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

Mum has been in Forest Care Village for two months referred through the NHS, we are so happy we are hoping to continue using this care home for the next three months self-funding. She has been so well looked after, the staff are really lovely, caring and very polite. The home is spotlessly clean and the food is freshly cooked. Everyone has such a positive outlook on life, there are plenty of activities and the home is just off the high street in Borehamwood so there are lots of opportunities for taking the resident out for some shopping or a coffee. There is a 24 hours reception so visiting times are not restricted. If you are concerned for your loved one you can call anytime for an update and the resident can call you too, nothing is too much bother. Mum is recovering slowly, the carers are helping her to achieve her goal, coming to live me.

The room was very comfortable, as was the bed. It was good to have ensuite facilities and to have a wheelchair available whenever we wanted to take mum out.
The food was good especially the salads.
The staff were all very friendly, the physiotherapists were encouraging and the carers very helpful, especially with foot washing.

Mum enjoyed her stay but was pleased to go home.

Due to an accident at work, I needed to enter Forest Care Village. The care and consideration I was given by all members of the team was excellent. In very difficult and unfamiliar circumstances. I felt listened to and cared for. My wishes and opinions were considered during my stay and met when possible. My experience in Forest Care Village was very positive.

Overall Experience
My mum was in Forest Care for approx three and a half months. She had dementia and terminal cancer. I live 300 miles away and the staff would always update me if they had any concerns and when I rang every day they were always very cheerful and would tell me in detail how mum was and what she had eaten/done etc. The nurses and carers took fantastic care of her and all her needs were met. In her last few months of life mum was very content and happy here.
Even as mum was passing away a nurse rang and put the phone to her ear so i could speak to her as she died. I cannot thank that member of staff enough for that.

A huge thank you to all the carers and nurses on Avalon that took care of mum. I would highly recommend this home to anyone.
