Overall Experience

My Dad was a resident of FCV for 13 years until his passing in Feb 2021. I found that his care was at the optimum. During his residence and his home, he was treated with dignity and respect. His nursing needs were always met. His social and mental needs were provided for in regular stimulating activities and engagement with a dedicated and caring staff. Several staff members were involved with my Dad for a long period of time possibly greater than 10 years. I did not observe a high turnover of care staff which I can surmise was due to the staff enjoying their jobs and feeling valued. Dad's neurological condition would occasionally manifest itself in frustration and verbal outbursts. The staff were compassionate and well trained in dealing with this and his specialist needs. I was regularly informed of my Dad health. I was involved in his care planning, meeting with senior staff and social workers. His key workers were always available to talk about Dad's care.

I have had a very pleasant experience being here and have felt very safe. The carers and staff, in general, have been helpful as my needs have deteriorated. I would be happy to return here again after my next hip operation whenever that happens.

Forset Care Village is a very caring home. The staff are friendly and professional. They have looked after my daughter very well; she enjoys all the social activities the lifestyle team lay on, especially the visiting singer and the choir. The home is well decorated and clean, but it's greatest assets are the people who work there.

I consider Forset Care Village as my home, I consider the staff and especially, the manager of the home as doing an amazing job in what they do for all the residents. The care and compassion they show, makes me feel that I am so glad that I am here, I consider them all my friends. What the manager has done by keeping us all safe while we are under lockdown because of the virus that they have everywhere, but because of our amazing manager and staff, we have all been kept safe.

It was great to see all the people involved in the home, came in risking their well being to care for us. I got sick and became very difficult to look after, but it was wonderful how the nurses and carers did their best to look after me. The lifestyle team also looked in on me, helping me to stay in touch with the family through Skype. Thanks to everyone.

My wife has been at Forest Care Village for over 9 years. She has poor communication skills but carers have in the main understood her "signals" which enables them to take appropriate action. Staff are very caring towards her and this makes me happy. The lifestyle team are fantastic and management and other support staff are always friendly, willing and obliging.

I like the art work and the few times that we can sing. I like the mixed gender in here. My brother married in 1979 and then it was daddy and myself alone at home.

The moment you walk into Forest Care Village Home in Borehamwood, there is a good atmosphere. The staff are friendly with lovely music filling the conservatory.
The laundry service is superb, as with the catering.
Most importantly my brother, who has been resident for the past couple of years, is clean and contented.

Keep up the excellent service.
