Very good level of care. The staff were very efficient and caring. On all my visits I saw staff carrying out their tasks and looking after my mother.

Any request or information on my mum's condition was always provided.

We looked at a number of homes over a 24 hour period and this was the last home we looked at. Immediately, we felt comfortable, the tour of the home was very informative and you got the feeling of pride and caring from the lady who showed us round. Whilst my mother-in-law was at the home, she was extremely well cared for. All members of staff had time for her and us. We were happy she was cared for so well at the end of her life.

The personal one to one care on a daily basis my dad received was brilliant. It was always with compassion, care and professionalism. From a family perspective, it gave us great peace of mind to know that he was safe and receiving great care, also as a family we were made very welcome, anytime we visited.

My only suggestion for improvement is the poor carpark.

The staff and nurses were kind, caring and treated our aunt with dignity.

Our only complaint is the parking for visitors can be very difficult.

My mother spent the last year of her life in Hatfield Care Home. The staff could not have done more for her during that time.
The care and compassion that every member of staff showed was exceptional.
Mum was confined to bed and when visiting, I regularly found a member of staff with her - talking to her, stimulating her with music and showing her that they really cared.
Despite having severe dementia, making communication difficult, the staff treated her with such dignity and kindness that she really responded to them and it was obvious that she felt safe and secure. She was very happy and for me too it was a pleasure to visit the home.

Hatfield Care Home is exceptional.

Having been in residential care for some years and then needing dementia nursing care, mum, fortunately, moved to Hatfield Residential and Nursing Home for the last year of her life. Having had care home comparison, I can confirm that the excellent care offered to mum in Hatfield Residential and Nursing Home deserves special recognition. The staff truly understand dementia and the need of the residents are therefore catered for accordingly. Mum was always clean, well fed with appropriate food (e.g. Sandwiches softened with soup for tea) and although unable to speak we could all tell mum was always very happy and content, which was a great comfort to the family. Carers spent time with mum on a 1:1 basis stimulating her with music that she loved. The management and staff always made the family feel extremely welcome and so it was a pleasure to visit regularly. I have no hesitation in recommending the care home and its dedicated staff to families looking for dementia care.

The care is good, but not when my wife is removed from her bed at midnight to go to the hospital as a non-urgent case.

The continuity of senior and junior staff is important for the relationship of staff to residents.

Reply from Mary Tolladay, Home Manager at Hatfield Nursing Home

Thank you for your lovely comments and your positive scores. Our residents’ welfare is our top priority and unfortunately, an ambulance did have to be called because your wife was in a great deal of pain and 111 staff were unable to support on this occasion.

My mother has just passed away, having had Alzheimer's for many years and been looked after atSanctury Home, Hatfield. My wife and I cannot say a big enough thank you for how grateful we were for the consideration they gave into looking after our Mum. They were also kind and considerate and appeared to anticipate mum's needs at all times. They also considered ours as well. We shall miss not coming to the home to see everyone. As for as we are concerned, you have a very special team in Hatfield home. Thank you to all of you. Wishing you all the best for the future.

The home has been a very good choice for my mother in law who has severe Alzheimers. The accommodation is very good. The staff are excellent and very caring to her needs. Mam is always clean and tidy. The staff are very approachable and there always appear to be a member of management about when we visit. Generally very pleased with everything. Thank you.

From my initial viewing of that to date the reception and care received has been exceptional. The staff are warm, welcoming, caring and the general ambience in the home is lovely. The staff are very helpful, approachable and nothing is too much trouble.

The staff have got to know mum very quickly and understand her needs, her likes and dislikes. Her room is spacious, clean and comfortable and the layout of the home is very homely. Mum has settled very well and we are thrilled with her care.

During March this year my mother has been ill with a chest infection. Care Home staff have been wonderful. Their care has been exemplary - arranging GP visits, providing sensitive support to an independent lady, administering medicine and supervising personal care.

They have also kept the family very well informed of changing circumstances.
