Our initial experience was poor with a continuous turnover of staff and poor food and accommodation. Following a CQC visit, the accommodation improved and a refurbishment commenced.

The staff work extremely hard and are kind and caring. The home improved significantly when the current manager was appointed and she has made a remarkable improvement.

We viewed several care homes and we instantly liked Kingfisher Care Home as it had a very homely feel. The staff were all friendly, helpful and kind. We felt we could trust them to care for my Mum.

The staff were very good when dad came into the nursing home. The staff are very friendly and have a laugh and joke with dad. The food is very good and have a nice choice. Dad is very happy here and calls his room his home which is nice.

Thank you to the Kingfisher Nursing Home team. It was a very stressful time moving our mother to her new home at Kingfisher but the stress was very much eased by the wonderful and caring staff. The team at Kingfisher demonstrate both professional and caring skills with a very positive attitude. Our mother has her hair done weekly and her personal care keeps her looking beautiful, the team take their time out to be very friendly.

Review from Gilly (Daughter of Resident) published on 18 September 2017 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

The constant changing of staff since he has been there (two and a half years) is very unsettling for my father. His room decoration and furniture is very old and 'tired' (with an old and stained carpet, which seems a bad choice for floor covering in a nursing home anyway). There is also not much stimulation apart from 'parking' the residents in front of a television.

There has been a large turnover of staff which is unsettling for the residents. Do not seem to take into account my father's hard of hearing when speaking to him.

Very welcoming, carers and staff polite and friendly. My friend said the manager of the home and the cleaner was very nice and he feels happy to be here. The home is clean and tidy and the atmosphere is relaxed and homely. Also, they have lots of entertainment involving friends and relatives.

My mum originally came in for respite whilst my husband and I went on holiday, only for 3 weeks, she loved it from the off and then decided to stay for another week. During that time she decided for herself that this was the place she needed to be to help her with her poor mobility and personal care. All the staff made her feel so welcome and at home immediately. I cannot speak highly enough of the care and support everyone has given her.
