Woodside Hall Nursing Home afforded excellent care to our Mother for nearly a year and a half. Her accommodation was comfortable, clean, warm and stylish and provided everything she needed, including en-suite facilities. Food at the home was plentiful, appetizing and varied. When Covid allowed, activities were well managed and brought residents closer together and Mum happily forged friendships with both staff and co-residents. However, the best and most valuable thing about the home was the high level of support provided by the nursing and care staff which was professional, considerate and kind. I would happily recommend Woodside Hall to others.

The whole team at Woodside Hall Nursing Home provided excellent care for my mother after her severe stroke. She was treated with dignity and respect and provided with the best care her family could have wished for. I am very grateful to them.

The home has always provided a high standard of care for my mother. I can't compare the way the home has dealt with the Covid 19 epidemic with other homes, but the communication of the way the home is dealing with the epidemic has been occasional, especially for the first few months. The emails from a director, in particular, are rare and seem to concentrate on telling relatives not to contact the home. Keeping the website updated with how the latest regulations are being applied at the home would be useful and would remove the need for contacting the home to find out.

My mother’s first experience at Woodside Hall was for respite care following a fractured hip, prior to 2015. At the time, I was extremely worried about how we would ever persuade her to live anywhere other than home, knowing this was inevitable, as she didn’t progress well after her hip. That all changed when she seemed clearly content and settled. She returned home after respite and after my father died in 2015, she was already familiar with Woodside and seemed happy to return there on a permanent basis. Six years on, she is content and is well cared for. The last year has been difficult for everyone, but particularly for those with any form of dementia, who really need the familiarity of family members, which has not been possible. Woodside staff have done the best they could, often with limited staff, during the pandemic. Regular updates provide reassurance, especially when there are specific health concerns. Her room is clean and bright with views of a variety of animals. Highly recommend.

Thank you for your kind review. Woodside Hall's staff team is more like a family as they encompass the residents within this family and your Mother is certainly one of them and is a joy to care for. It has been extremely tough during this period for everyone alike, however, the staff team have...

My mum has been at Woodside Hall for many years now. Her care has been managed very well and her emotional health has not been ignored. Outside agencies are called in when appropriate and the level of communication with the family has been high. Staff really do care and give an individual approach to Mum. Several members of staff have gone above and beyond what their job entails, to give an extremely high level of care.

Outstanding care, provided by dedicated staff and highly recommended. The past 12 months have been extremely difficult for everyone, yet the staff have gone above and definitely beyond their duties to provide first-class care for my mother, who has a peaceful room on the ground floor, with easy access to the courtyard garden, which suits her needs. She has been there for 3 years and in that time, has been cared for so gently and professionally, with the staff meeting all her complex nursing needs with respectful integrity, as well as restaurant-quality meals and service. Woodside staff also provided excellent palliative care for my father-in-law, who passed away peacefully in February 2020 (not Covid related). My husband and I are indebted to their devout service and care of our loved ones and the support they provided us both with, over the years. Thank you doesn't cover it - but we are truly thankful.

Thank you very much for your kind review. We are so pleased that you are happy with the care at Woodside Hall. This past year has been an extremely trying time, especially for our residents and their families who have been unable to see their loved ones. Your mother is a lovely lady, a real character and a joy to care for. She makes everyone smile.

My husband has been at Woodside for 18 months now and has been shown nothing but excellent care, understanding and support. There is a well-led team who all work together to provide a safe, comfortable and caring environment for the residents. They go over and above their duty in order to improve the lives of the residents and their families. All the staff make this a highly recommendable care home.

From the moment Mum arrived at Woodside Hall, she was treated with kindness, care and respect. We are so grateful to everyone at the home for all going the extra mile to ensure that Mum was happy and felt safe and cared for. She was 91 in September and not only did the staff make a cake for her, they made a hedgehog cake, as it was her favourite animal. They came in with the cake to sing happy birthday to her.

Thank you all for your care and kindness.

Woodside Hall was able to accommodate my wife, even though they were given very little notice. She was very well cared for and received everything she could possibly need. Lovely food as well. She appeared happy and content whenever we visited. Excellent all round service. My wife has severe Alzheimers.

My father was in Woodside Hall for a short respite after being in hospital for 3 weeks.

At Woodside Hall, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the whole place is extremely clean. I would not hesitate in placing him in Woodside Hall again.

My mum was cared for at Woodside Hall for 2 and a half years until she died aged 88 in February of this year.
It was therefore uppermost in our minds when Dad's care home started to fail.

He arrived last week at Woodside Hall and what a change, literally a breath of fresh air. No smells, no stale air, a light, airy and friendly atmosphere, accompanied by an undercurrent of professionalism and caring. Can't recommend them highly enough.
