Barty House Nursing Home offers first-rate nursing care in Bearsted, Kent.

Accommodated in an impressive Georgian listed building, combined with modern, purpose-built facilities and surrounded by extensive gardens, the home offers a high standard of care for up to 59 residents, delivered with empathy, compassion and dignity. The bright, spacious bedrooms in the contemporary extension have ensuite wetrooms and many enjoy direct access to the courtyard garden and views over the grounds.

The characterful rooms in the older part of the building come in various sizes, and some also have ensuite facilities. Their traditional windows overlook different aspects of the garden, offering captivating views at any time of year.

Nursing and care staff are on hand 24/7, supported by the dedicated administration, facilities and housekeeping teams, while the activities staff provide a daily programme of interesting and varied activities.

The communal areas, including the glass-fronted Willow Lounge which overlooks the Kent countryside, are designed to provide comfortable spaces to socialise with guests or other residents.

The grounds surrounding the house include traditional English gardens at the front and a wheelchair-accessible courtyard area at the centre of the new building. The gardens are inhabited by rabbits and many types of birds, so there is always something interesting to look at!

My mother in law was always treated with kindness and dignety even with her bad health she was always clean, check upon needs met.
If I ever had any concerns they were always acted upon even though she was only in for 4 days every need was met. I can not think of a bad thing to say. I needed a disabled
parking spot the manager was going to create me a place for future visits.

Barty house is a lovely place for my mother-in-law to be, so many wonderful caring people who look after her.
We can walk away knowing she is in the best possible place, any problems they will always give us a call, this gives us peace of mind.
My mother-in-law was put here after an operation to
be assessed, to see if she would be able to manage at home by herself.
As yet we are awaiting the outcome of the assessment.
Us as a family believe this would be the best place for her as she has a few memory issues.
We thought if a nursing home was the outcome we would move her closer to us, but to be honest my mother-in-law has settled in really well, staff are amazing, they have activities most if not every afternoon, this is something my mother-in-law really enjoys, she loves socialising, being around people. If you visit in the afternoon, they will always ask if you would like to join in with your loved one, you can even stay and have lunch with them at a small cost.

Nothing is too much trouble for the staff from asking for pain relief to asking for a resident to have help for moving about the home. Residents are always asked if they need any help for anything especially help with changing clothes etc,
The staff are always courteous, polite and well dressed.

My mother who is a resident at Barty House for a couple of years, has always been treated with care, dignity and respect. She has complex needs which have been carefully considered and any concerns I have had, have been listened to and addressed, in particular I like the fact there is always an "open
door" mentality by the care home manager if there are any issues that need to be addressed. The Carers are good, and have taken the time to "bond" with my mum.
My mum's clothes and laundry are always clean and housekeeping do their best. The kitchen staff also work hard to accommodate different food requirements. My only critique is that some areas where there is carpet, it is a little "tired" and could do with replacing/ new flooring?
Most of all, I feel that my mum is in "safe hands" which gives me peace of mind. I would not hesitate to recommend Barty House to anyone considering this as their new "home"

Just a few weeks now to Mum's 100th birthday. The staff are already making plans for the day and are helping my family and I prepare. She has been at Barty for 5 years now and her care has been excellent throughout.

We have found the staff very helpful and friendly. They have answered any questions competently and taken on board any concerns that we have had relating to the care of my father. We have been notified if there have been any falls and updated to the outcome. It is very comforting to be able to discuss
any medical issues with the nurses as they have arisen.
The food is lovely.
The rooms are kept clean and fresh.
My father says " they are very nice people here " a great comfort to us !

My husband has lived at Barty House Nursing Home for nearly two and a half years. He is very settled and calm and is always treated with love and respect. The support which he and all the family have received has been amazing. We are so grateful to all the staff for their love and attention to detail.
It
is a difficult decision for any family to take to place a loved one in a home but it was not long before we realised that My husband was happy and stable.
The activities team make every day interesting and the office staff are always on hand to help with any worries. The nurses are amazing and the carers really do care!

My father spent the last three and a half weeks of his very long life in Barty House Nursing Home. He was treated compassionately and with respect. Nursing staff were on hand to answer our questions and were quick to make any adjustments necessary to my father's end-of-life care. All staff, including
management, admin, nurses and domestic staff, were friendly and generous of their time.
The care home is welcoming and clean and my father described staff as 'kind' and his treatment 'excellent'. Thank you.

Mum spent her last month of life at Barty House Nursing Home. It was a very difficult time for us. By the time she arrived at Barty House, she had suffered a head injury in hospital which left her almost completely uncommunicative and in constant and intense pain. The staff were courteous and compassionate.
The nursing staff, one in particular, were very patient with us, talking us through how her condition would deteriorate and how they would adapt the care to reflect this. As her needs escalated, the home provided an enhanced level of care, over and above what the local authority had agreed to pay for. Care staff were very respectful of Mum's religious beliefs during her stay, including in the treatment of her body after she passed. The deputy manager made herself available outside working hours and the manager attended Mum's funeral. I can't stress how much we appreciated Barty House's care and attention and how much difference this made to us in the final stages of Mum's life.

My friend, for whom I had lasting power of attorney, passed away in Barty House recently. She was admitted following a severe stroke a year ago. Whilst she experienced a slow and steady decline as a result of her medical condition, the quality of care she received from Barty was excellent.
She was
treated as a much loved family member and whilst it is true that she did not want to be in a nursing home, it is also true that she was settled and content there. In spite of her lack of ability to move and to communicate, staff showed the utmost patience and respect for her, always treating her with dignity and how, I suspect, they would want to be treated themselves in similar circumstances,
A well-led home, nothing was too much trouble, adapting diets, bringing activities to her, accommodating and responding to requests - all delivered promptly and appropriately. I have no hesitation in recommending Barty House. For those more able there is a wealth of activities to benefit from and a great chef too!

Barty House offers a very warm welcome to both residents and relatives. My husband has been resident there for seven months and he now seems settled there in a happy and caring environment.
