My wife suffered a severe and deteriorating neurological illness (NSA) which caused increasing paralysis and we were not able to look after her at home, due to increasing disability.
The Barty House care team looked after her sympathetically and very well until she died three weeks later. They were kind, thoughtful, attentive and endlessly sympathetic.

Recommended without reservation.

My sister went into the home in January 2010, at the age of 60, due to a brain injury and needed 24-hour care. She passed away in October 2018. In the 8 years she was there all her needs were taken care of by the excellent staff. In the last 18 months of her life, she needed a lot of special care which was given with love and consideration. As a family, we are so grateful that she found the perfect home for the last years of her life. Thank you so much.

My mother was only in Barty House for the final two weeks of her life but their care of her was excellent, every single member of staff treated my mother with dignity and warmth. The staff also looked after our family as my mother passed on, again with great care, respect and we could not have asked for more.

My mother went to Barty House for end of life care. Although she was only there a short time, she commented that it felt like home. It was a great comfort to me to know that she was treated with care, kindness, dignity and respect during her final days. I would have no hesitation in recommending Barty House to others.

Dad reluctantly agreed to move into a nursing home as he could no longer live independently. Luckily Barty House had a vacancy.
The first few weeks were very difficult but the care and attention shown him by all the staff helped him to settle in and eventually take part in activities and daily life of the home.
This gave us peace of mind that Dad was well looked after and in the best place to meet his needs. We always felt welcome, the staff were always willing to answer our queries, however small.

Throughout his stay, the dedicated staff could not have been more supportive of Dad and also to ourselves. In his final days, they treated Dad with dignity and respect and were so kind to us at such a painful time.

When we first viewed the nursing home the staff were very happy to show us around and were very helpful and efficient after getting the patient moved to the nursing home. Since being at the home the staff provide an excellent standard of care for the resident and are always helpful and friendly towards the residents and their visitors.

No words can express the level of support that both my mother and I were given in the last weeks of her life. Every conceivable effort was made not only to give mum her dignity and the care she needed but also to me who needed the support to see me through these dark days. Every member of staff whether it be nursing, caring, office or activity were there to show that they fully cared and understood what we were going through.

Mum had been at Barty House for just over 15 months (after I had done a huge amount of research on other homes in the area). Although at the beginning she was a little unsure, it did not take her long to feel wanted and cared for. Something that was very important to me was to see her settled and for her to experience the care, getting her involved in all the activities and she made a lot of friends with other residents and staff along the way.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Barty House no matter what level of care is required.

Having visited a few homes, as soon as we saw Barty House Nursing Home, my brother and I both knew that this was the most peaceful and caring home I had visited.

The staff and nurses are all wonderfully kind and helpful people who treated out mum with nothing else but care and compassion. When mum got poorly the care and respect they showed her was amazing and the home is a fun and happy place, full of laughter, fun, games, and above all care. We will miss our visits to Barty House Nursing Home. Thank you all for looking after our beloved Mum until the end.

My family were impressed by the staff's caring attitude to my mother, she found her experience in the home somewhat frightening and struggled to come to terms with being away from her own home. At all times we met with efficient helpful staff, who would take time to listen to our concerns and to the needs of my mother, despite some very trying circumstances with regard to her physical and mental conditions.

My parents entered Barty House in August 2010. My family and I had spent some time researching various establishments in the Kent/Surrey/Sussex area and Barty House gave a good mix of care quality, convenient location and appropriate accommodation at a reasonable price. My father resided there for 5.5yrs and my mother for 7.5yrs, both of which are a testimony to good care. The nursing care has always been of a high standard and my parents were always treated with dignity, kindness and respect. The staff dealt with my mother's Multiple Sclerosis appropriately.
The home is clean and well-run in my opinion.
There are some aspects which could be improved. Potential users should be aware of the following:
1. Over the years, I have had to push for regular carer reviews: I believe this should be routine and proactively organised by the home.
2. Dealing with dementia.
3. Annual cost increases have been significantly above inflation.

4. Local shops are 1 mile away with poor wheelchair access.

From my 1st visit to the home I was impressed by the professional manner al the staff conducted themselves, clean crisp uniforms, caring and compassionate attitude, overall cleanliness of all areas and their organisation of their resident time to keep them active informed and amused.

With all my family we can only say a big thank you to them all for giving my mother the best care possible during the last 9 months of her life.

I have recently retired from the NHS after 37 years as a paramedic and have visited many care/nursing homes. On entering Barty House it immediately gave off an aura of calm, friendly, and professional care. The staff are totally focused on delivering first-class care to both service users and their family relatives. The service users are happy and content, nothing is too much trouble, sadly our family member passed away only 5 weeks after admission to this facility. I cannot commend the staff enough, the end of life care was very special to both the service user and very upset family members. The room and facilities at Barty House are the best I have ever experienced, and full credit to the nursing staff, managers, reception, catering and every other staff who make Barty House a very special place. Thank you so much for all you did for our family member.

I cannot praise highly enough the wonderful care given to my father for the final few months of his life. The decision to find a nursing home for dad when it was no longer possible to care for him at home was not an easy one to make, but from the very first contact with Barty House, the staff put our minds at rest that he would be receiving the very best care and attention.

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they always had a smile and a kind word for dad and us when we visited. When the end came, they treated dad with dignity and respect and were so kind to us at such a painful time. Not for one minute have we regretted the decision we made for dad to live out his final months at Barty House - it was a wonderful and humbling experience to witness the care and dedication of the wonderful staff. We will always remember you and will be forever grateful.

My mother spent the last month of her life at Barty House Nursing Home. My sister and I cannot commend the staff highly enough, they always had time for mum and were sensitive and thoughtful to the visiting family.
We are so grateful you made her short stay comfortable as possible. The staff go the extra distance and when our mother was too ill to attend "The Mad Hatters Tea Party" downstairs in the lounge, the costumed nursing staff went to her for a photo call we will treasure the picture forever!

Thank you to everyone at Barty House

My father received the very best care at Barty House. The staff are fabulous and can always find time to answer your queries, they are unfailingly professional, friendly and kind. My father enjoyed the activities and was encouraged to join in. The surroundings and grounds are lovely and make you feel as if you are visiting a country house rather than a care home.

My father was a resident at Barty House during the last couple of years of his life, until his death this week.
The care staff at Barty House were exceptional and cared for my dad very well, with kindness, respect and infinite patience.

I never heard a cross word or nasty comment from them, even when dealing with other residents, not just my dad.

My siblings and I often met the same carers when we visited my dad and they were always accommodating and friendly. Barty seemed to use few agency staff which is always a good sign. They had an excellent range of afternoon activities, lead by a dedicated and very friendly activities team.

The facilities in the care home were always of a high standard and kept very clean.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Barty House as an excellent care home.

Thank you for the wonderful you have given my Nana. I have never seen her looking so well and so happy. Every time I go to visit, I am pleased to see staff and other residents chatting to her, and hear about her weekly bingo which was something she used to love but couldn't get to at home. I never thought she would turn out to be such a social butterfly, and working in healthcare myself, it is lovely to know that I can trust the home to look after her when I live so far away.

The food smells wonderful, and staff have been wonderfully accommodating of her likes and dislikes, as well as her freedom to make her own choices. Thank you so much!

We are in the care industry and the care that my client received was fantastic. So welcoming, approachable, caring and so compassionate at the end of her life. The care she received was out of this world. This is all down to the home managers who were always there for us. I still like to visit the home and just pop in for a chat.

From the first meeting with a lady, it was clear that the care and attention paid to the residents was paramount with management and practising what was preached. During dads stay we experienced fantastic levels of care matched with emotions towards the residents which was so helpful to all relatives.

In particular, we would praise the staff under the watchful eye of the manager who were great with dad and us making it easy also to spend those last vital days continually with dad.
