I have worked in healthcare for over a decade and have been a registered nurse since 2007. Have vast experience in different nursing departments.
Being part of MG Homes, I and our multi-disciplinary team of nurses, carers, domestic, and kitchen staff, will work together in order to deliver the best person-centred care to those we support.
I have been part of the MG Homes team since 2014. I started as a Registered Nurse, in 2016 I was promoted to Deputy Manager, and in 2018 to Manager.
My role over the last 8 years has been to work with our residents to improve their quality of life by regularly asking them what they would like to include in our plans.
My most recent achievement involves one of our lovely gentlemen who had lost a lot of strength in his legs. He came to me and asked if I could help him walk again. We started off slowly with some gentle movement and then started to incorporate resistance training and fall prevention exercises. Now he is able to walk with the aid of a Zimmer frame.
I love my job; every day is different, every resident is different and at the end of it I feel like I have made a difference.
I have been working for MG Homes for about 6 months and have over 40 years of experience in the facilities field. My experience as a facilities manager in the NHS for 18 years has brought me here to gain more experience.
I like how different my job is every day. The working environment is really good and I enjoy making the days of our residents and staff brighter.
I moved back from Wales over ten years ago and wanted to get a job so I could use my property maintenance skills. For 10 years I worked as a Maintenance Manager at MG Homes. I love my job; it gets me involved with the residents and I am happy to contribute to their well-being by keeping their rooms nice and tidy.
My best achievement so far is receiving compliments from residents and their families about the appearance of both homes, communal areas and residents' bedrooms. I have recently moved into the position of Facilities Administrator, and there is a lot of administrative work behind the maintenance. I continue to enjoy my work and improving the lives of residents.
