Due to the coronavirus pandemic, I have been unable to visit my daughter in Wells House but have read previous reviews and spoken to the manager on a few occasions and am pleased she is under the care of a dedicated team. I cannot, therefore, give a review having not seen the accommodation.

My mother is receiving end of life care at Wells House Nursing Home. The manager quickly assessed and arranged for her admittance, and everything has been very smooth.

My mother is very happy here and is being very well cared for. The food looks lovely, and the staff are very friendly. All of our family is very pleased with the care being given.

My mother lived in Wells House for three years, until her death in October 2019. I live in Australia but visited her every year for about two weeks. I found her care in Wells House to be exemplary. Without exception, the staff were caring and cheerful - and my mother was not always in a good mood. Her room and Wells House, in general, were always spotless. The food was good and plentiful. I recommend Wells House very highly.

Thank you so much for your very kind words. I am so pleased that your trips from Australia were so positive and I am very sorry for your loss.

I have no complaints with the service and care provided.
The staff are all efficient, attentive and caring.

Conditions are comfortable and clean and the food sufficient and varied for my needs. I am more than happy with all aspects of my care and the opportunities I have to mix with other residents both inside the home and on the arranged trips. All have contributed to improving my health.

At first, I did not want to come, but my daughter said to try it for a month. When I arrived, the carers were ery welcoming and friendly. I got into bed and the nurse came and examined me and told me to buzz if I ever wanted help. As the weeks went by I got to know the carers, who were so good. I was so happy. The food was good and I began to put on weight. I was allowed visitors whenever I wanted them. There is a lounge where you can go and meet other residents. The entertainment is good, something for everyone.

My father was not in Wells House for very long but he loved it there.
He thought the staff were superb and had absolutely no complaints.
I thought they were all lovely too - caring compassionate, friendly, in fact, the whole family agreed we couldn't have found a better place for my terminally ill dad.

Beautiful situation too.

My mother became a resident here in June 2018. This was obviously a worrying time for all of the family but the home and staff have been fantastic in helping mum settle here.

They do a variety of activities with the residents. The care they offer is excellent. The home is kept spotlessly clean, I can definitely recommend this home.

Wells House Nursing Home is a beautiful house built by HG Wells by the sea. My mother's room has a long window that looks onto charming gardens and the sea. It is clean, well appointed with an en-suite bathroom.

My mother is here for palliative care after 9-10 years of dementia. The staff could not be sweeter or kinder, they are very tender with her and absolutely wonderful to us. Nothing is too much trouble and we can visit when we like. I can't believe how lucky we are to have end of life care here.
