Wells House Nursing Home

At a very difficult time, Wells House staff have maintained a high standard of care. Universal difficulties at this time regarding visiting and communications, but Wells House policies have maintained an impeccable record.

The home is very well run, clean and the staff are great. My mother has been in the home for about two years now and is very happy. It has only been in the past month that we have been able to see our mother, due to the Covid outbreak. The measures the home has put in place, to see our mother, are very good. The home used to be H.G. Wells' house and has many features and is well maintained. A big thank you to all the staff in these challenging times.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, I have been unable to visit my daughter in Wells House but have read previous reviews and spoken to the manager on a few occasions and am pleased she is under the care of a dedicated team. I cannot, therefore, give a review having not seen the accommodation.

I visited my sister, found her very good and happy.

My mother lived in Wells House for three years, until her death in October 2019. I live in Australia but visited her every year for about two weeks. I found her care in Wells House to be exemplary. Without exception, the staff were caring and cheerful - and my mother was not always in a good mood. Her room and Wells House, in general, were always spotless. The food was good and plentiful. I recommend Wells House very highly.

Conditions are comfortable and clean and the food sufficient and varied for my needs. I am more than happy with all aspects of my care and the opportunities I have to mix with other residents both inside the home and on the arranged trips. All have contributed to improving my health.

At first, I did not want to come, but my daughter said to try it for a month. When I arrived, the carers were ery welcoming and friendly. I got into bed and the nurse came and examined me and told me to buzz if I ever wanted help. As the weeks went by I got to know the carers, who were so good. I was so happy. The food was good and I began to put on weight. I was allowed visitors whenever I wanted them. There is a lounge where you can go and meet other residents. The entertainment is good, something for everyone.

Very friendly staff. The management is excellent and supportive. The nurses are really helpful.

They do a variety of activities with the residents. The care they offer is excellent. The home is kept spotlessly clean, I can definitely recommend this home.

The staff are totally dedicated to the help and comfort to all who are staying in this well run nursing home.

Excellent, kind, caring and really go above and beyond to look after my Mum and keep her safe and make her comfortable. Great team, really appreciate all that they do. The Manager heads a great team. Always approachable and welcoming to all the family.

Whenever we visit our friend, her living conditions and care are of the highest value.

My mother is here for palliative care after 9-10 years of dementia. The staff could not be sweeter or kinder, they are very tender with her and absolutely wonderful to us. Nothing is too much trouble and we can visit when we like. I can't believe how lucky we are to have end of life care here.
