Overall Experience

We can in no way fault the care Mum has received since admission on 30th May. Our initial impression of Wells House has proved more than we hoped for. Smaller than the other homes we visited suited Mum's lifestyle. We knew she would be keen to sit in the garden, but reluctant to join the activities the staff enthusiastically encourage. One Sunday afternoon a carer took her to see the Police Band play in an open-air concert on the Folkestone Leas. Mum's condition has subsequently deteriorated but the dedicated team have proved supportive, genuinely caring and friendly. We have every confidence in the excellent care provided.

My mum is always clean with lovely, soft, clean hair. She's always comfortable.

I couldn't have chosen a better care home for her and really appreciate the care she receives.

I had a very warm welcome when I arrived and nothing was too much trouble. The house and grounds are lovely. The staff all operate as one happy family and can't do enough for you. They will make you a cup of tea day or night. I feel as if Gods hands have reached out and touched this place - there is so much love here. Excellent. It has opened my eyes to the wonderful work that is going on.

Overall Experience

My uncle was treated with loving kindness, care and compassion during his three week stay in Wells House. He was treated with dignity and respect during his transition from life to death. My uncle spoke highly of the carers and quickly established a rapport with those who regularly cared for him. This was obviously a very difficult time for him but he commented on how relieved he felt to be in such a caring and pleasant environment. This was also a difficult time for my uncle's family and as we all live a long way from Wells House we were so grateful for the ease with which we were able to receive phone updates about his health and general wellbeing from the staff nurses. We are especially grateful for the ease with which we were able to discuss his health and his gradual decline with the nurses during the last few days of his life. My uncle received many visitors from friends and family and many commented on the warm welcome they received from the staff and carers. Caring for others is an important and at times difficult job, although it is frequently overlooked by society and certainly underfunded by successive governments, it remains one of the most beneficial services for carers and for those being cared for. Together with their care and professionalism my uncle received the very best service from all at Wells House and I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Wells House to families who are considering this nursing home for their loved ones.
