Been here about four weeks, and all staff, i.e. management, nurses, laundry staff, and cleaners, are all amazing.
Very friendly and has a great sense of humour.

Must mention the chef, a fantastic feller, and again, a great sense of humour and always has time for me and have a chat, which was lovely. Food is great.

I hope I am not too late with this review but I have taken this long to settle myself into a decent routine etc!
My stay at Staplehurst Manor Care Home was exactly the respite I needed after my operation on the 17th of August. I found it very difficult to remember the names of people but everybody was very kind and considerate.

One very minor complaint was with the agency nurses who ended every sentence with 'darling'!

Reply from David Mclean, Customer Service Adviser at Staplehurst Manor Care Home

Thank you for your kind words. We hope Staplehurst Manor Care Home did everything possible to make the transition as easy as possible. Hopefully you will go away from this feeling like your loved one received the best possible care and thank you for choosing Staplehurst Manor for your stay.

My mother-in-law has only been in the care home for a couple of weeks. She has improved in every way since she has been there. They have managed to keep her bedsore free. They document and turn her often. As of now, I only have praise for the home.

Home at this moment being refurbished and some repairs which are needed. Food is the main reason of concern; the main/chief chef is on maternity leave, and the second chef is from abroad and poor - the agency is unreliable. From your control ingredients, but allow personable choices and abilities.

Good food, clean sheets - comfortable bedroom, although no plug in the basin. I am sometimes aware of being short of staff. The carers work extremely hard but are just not quite enough. This is a very big building, so they have to cover a large area in the course of their work. The grounds are lovely.

I have worked in Staplehurst Manor since 2017, and I began my career with Bupa in 2000. I started as a carer and progressed through different roles.

My previous job roles include carer, senior carer, team leader, deputy unit manager, unit manager and home manager.

My career in the sector began as an Auxiliary Nurse in a hospital. I was in this role for 3 years and left to start a family. When my youngest child turned 9, returned to work as a carer in a Bupa Care Home.

I was one of the first carers to complete their NVQ as they were introduced right as I began my role as a carer, and it gave me the opportunity to travel around other Bupa Care Homes as an NVQ assessor which was a great experience.

I always go home feeling proud that I have provided a service that makes someone feel safe and happier.

When I began to work at Staplehurst Manor, I fell in love with the area and the countryside so I decided to move close to the home where I now live with my family.
