Wilmington Manor provides a peaceful place for residents to receive residential and nursing care in a safe and homely environment. People requiring respite, convalescence and palliative care are also welcomed into the home.

Converted and extended from a manor house, residents keen on gardening are encouraged to participate, whether lightly or regularly depending on how they please.

The home has two lounges to choose from at the home, as well as the dining room, and if they prefer residents are free to dine in the comfort of their own room. Seasonal menus are created by the home’s chef who understands the needs and tastes of each individual.

There’s a real sense of community at the home. The staff work to discover what residents enjoy doing and the home's social calendar is organised around those interests. Dedicated activity coordinators help ensure residents are able to pursue their hobbies and interests, as well as organising a range of activities which include bingo, quizzes, flower arranging and music sessions, there is so much for residents to enjoy. Regular trips out are also enjoyed as are shopping trips and themed monthly events.

I found the nursing staff kind and helpful both to my brother and myself. His room and toilet are clean and my brother is well taken care of. Thank you to all the nursing staff for looking after my brother, I appreciate all that is done for him.

I found the accommodation very pleasant and comfortable surroundings.
My brother in law's room was well equipped and adequate for his needs.
The food served looked appetising and despite having mouth ulcer problems he ate heartily.
Both his sister and I travelled from Somerset and were made very
welcome.
The clinical service manager was very open and helpful.

Our mum suffered a stroke leaving her without speech. Staff quickly developed good relationships with her and have learnt to communicate with her using a variety of methods. The nursing team have been excellent especially one who has been communicating with us, a family, to keep us updated. She has
a wonderful relationship with mum and we know mum is safe in the care provided. Her room is bright and clean and is appropriate for her needs.

Very friendly staff, very accommodating and speaks to my Nana with respect and kindness. It was always a worry my nana moving into a care home, but the staff and nurses have made the transition much easier. We have put all of Nana's photos and comforts from home into her room and the care home will
let her make it feel like home. Very pleased so far!

Very nice surroundings, quiet place and very good maintenance. Friendly and caring nurses who do more than they need. Reliable and friendly and you are welcome anytime, help with questions and one knows that your relative is handled well and being looked after 24 hours.

Excellent care and professional in the care of the residents. Treat residents with kindness and respect. Seem short staffed at times. Entrance and exit to building/access can be time-consuming. Could have more "dementia focused" activities. Overall standard of care is excellent. Dad was happy.

We visited about four nursing homes in and around the area we live in and all were full so we had to put mum's name down on a waiting list. My father and I thought Wilmington Manor was best, not because it was the nearest but the staff we spoke to were friendly and easy to talk to.
They addressed all
our concerns and we were also provided with a guided tour of the manor.
One month after mum's admittance we are still happy with our choice of nursing home. I have no concerns and would recommend.

My dad came for a months respite. Not having been in a care home before none of the family knew what to expect. The staff put on our minds at ease and reassured us, before long we knew dad was in good hands. The staff are caring and friendly. The home has a homely feel about it and makes it comforting
for dad. He has been well looked after and well fed too. Excellent food he didn't want to go home!

There has been a big improvement in communication since the appointment of a new nurse. Issues raised with medication are always followed up with a phone call or an update in person and there is no longer a wait for progress to be reported or dealt with.

My 91 year old mother was very independent but very unwell.
She can't speak highly enough of all the staff and care she is receiving. The food and service is excellent too. She is very comfortable and has already improved her health. She also is more alert with constant interaction with the staff.
It is great to know she is being well looked after when I go home.
